    Breaded tenderloin yum

We decided to meet here with friends as it's a convenient location and parking is readily available. There is street parking and a city lot right across the street. We decided to eat inside as it was a HOT July evening. Inside was comfortable and available on a weeknight without reservations. The music was a bit loud but we were able to find a somewhat quiet corner. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks topped off all evening. We shared a huge plate of deluxe nachos that were tasty. Don't leave your leftovers as they were a tasty lunch the next day. They were almost like a taco casserole. I had the breaded tenderloin sandwich which really didn't need to be a sandwich. The tenderloin was huge and enough for three sandwiches. It was tender and delicious. The cocktails were good too. This is a great casual get together place.

The Willard is the 'go to' place around Franklin. We like to visit on the weekends when it's busy with excitement. Tonight, we started our adventure with a couple of drinks - Rum & Coke, and a Leinenkugles draft. For an appetizer, we selected the jalapeño pepper cheese cubes. The drinks were cold and refreshing, while the cheese cubes spiced up our taste buds. Our main course was the house specialty - Pizza! Thin and crispy crust with deluxe toppings, add pepper rings and black olives, and cooked to perfection. Overall we had a visit and meal, complimented with the best server Whitney. She was so attentive and pleasant, making our adventure the best! I highly recommend The Willard if you're in town - and ask for Whitney

Buffalo chicken wrap it was delicious and big enough to fill both of us up

The Willard in Franklin is an old establishment with lots of historical interesting pictures. They also have a fairly large outdoor patio for seating. Eight of us arrived at 4:30 on a Friday evening. We quickly found a seat inside. Then waited quite a while for our drink order to be taken. We also waited quite a while for our appetizer order to be taken. We had the jalapeño poppers and the mushrooms. Both were good. It took forever to put in our dinner orders, my wife and I split the buffalo chicken wrap and I have to tell you it was delicious. Two other couples had pizza which they said was good and another couple had the chicken wings which they said was OK. Our server was nice and polite, but extremely slow. The air conditioning wasn't working very well and the girls were all fanning themselves with their empty plates. As we set their sweating and trying to hold a conversation, it just wasn't going to happen. The noise level was so high you couldn't hold a conversation. You just couldn't hear. by the time we got our checks and got up it was 7:00 PM 2 1/2 hours. We sat on a wooden chair to eat a buffalo chicken wrap and to sweat in a very noisy crowded restaurant. not sure I'll ever go back unless we sit outside. The food was good. The service was just too slow but polite, and it was very hot and noisy inside.

We arrived here on Saturday night about an hour before they were closing. I didn't realize they closed so early but they greeted us with smiles and got us taken care of with no issues. Overall the service very friendly and great. My wife ordered their Rueben sandwich and I ordered their Pork Tenderloin sandwich. It came with your traditional sliced corn beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing all in between a grilled rye bread. The sandwich was really good. My wife thought it was delicious. My pork tenderloin sandwich was huge. It did lack seasoning but was cooked perfectly. It was very tender and of course filling. I ordered mine with mayo, tomato and lettuce. I don't go this far south in the Indy area often, but wouldn't mind returning if I'm ever in the area.

Breaded pork tenderloin - trust me there actually is a bun under the meat.

Had lunch with some college friends at The Willard in Franklin, Indiana today. Whenever we play golf at the Legends in Whitestown, we swing by the Willard for lunch. Today I tried the breaded tenderloin. Omg I can't believe how big it is - a family of 4 could dine on that sandwich. It was huge, tender, juicy and flavorful. At first I thought they forgot the bun because I couldn't see it under the meat. I ended up taking over half home for tomorrow's lunch. Oh and our server was very good checking up on us and keeping our beverages full. If you're looking for a good Hoosier pork tenderloin, hit up The Willard.

The food and service at the bar top was excellent! Plus, it's in a cool, old building.

Had a good experience at the restaurant this evening. I had the 10 piece, bbq wings and my coworker had a burger with a basket of onion rings. The wings were pretty good, however, my coworkers burger was a bit on a dry side. The beer was cold and refreshing. Service was excellent and friendly. The restaurant had a really old School ambience.

Two days after the New Year we celebrated a birthday luncheon in Franklin. My sister, the birthday girl, had selected this bar and grill in downtown Franklin. I understand that the building had been an old hotel and is host to a certain "ghost". Our table of six were expertly served by a friendly and very efficient server. He was friendly and funny but serious when recommending menu items. First, I can not believe that the quality of food costs so little. They are known for their chicken wings and pizza. I selected the in bone wings with sweet chili sauce and wow were they amazing, I will go back for pizza because my mouth watered with the pie that was delivered to a table near us. Their wings are well above average in the size normally served. The burgers and taco salads ordered by members of our party were so large and enjoyed .

Ask the Community - The Willard

Does anyone know if The Willard has wheelchair access? I was by there this weekend and didn't see anything on the outside, but thought maybe it connects from Artcraft or in another way.

It is! It's a ramp in the back of the building that guides you through the kitchen to the dining room! You just have to call them ahead of time!

Are their tenderloins fresh or from frozen patties?

It didn't impress me enough to become loyal customer. There are so many pizza places to choose from in the south side area that after awhile you just end up settling on a few faves based on your own experience and your personal taste preference especially as far as the quality of the food . I decided to try Noble Romans as a change of pace recently and met a friend at the Franklin location for lunch because she lives close by. We went recently around noon on a weekday. I was really surprised we were the only ones there except for another table. That's pretty much the way it was the whole time we were there the whole time. We decided to get a personal pizza and the salad bar option. I always like a good salad bar. Their salad bar was lacking quite a bit. They needed to put more lettuce in the lettuce bin and the lettuce that was in there was not looking very good and was basically empty in the pan. I asked if they could replace it or add some more. She did that, but instead of replacing it, all she did was dump new lettuce on top of the old stuff. The rest of the salad bar just didn't look fresh. Their choices were not as vast compared to other salad bars that I've been to. The salad dressings were varied and OK or acceptable, When our pizzas came out, they were just OK as well. For some reason, they threw too much sauce on the top of my pizza which was kind of strange and I had to scrape much of it off. I can honestly say I was a bit disappointed with our visit there and I probably won't go back. Our server was nice for the most part. The establishment looked clean and overall atmosphere and decor was pleasant enough. We went recently around noon on a weekday.

I was worried when we couldn't make any reservations, but we got right in - nobody was waiting, they weren't busy, but they did seem to be scrambling to find a server for us, which I thought was a little odd. After a weird start, the rest of the visit was fantastic - service was great, food was excellent, and we had a lovely time on a date night. Restrooms are on the first floor (an older review says the women's is downstairs in a creepy hallway, but this must have been renovated) and are single-occupancy and unisex, which is an interesting experience depending on who has visited before you -- this was probably the low point of the experience, that restroom could use some upkeep. Not just an unpleasant previous visitor, but structurally. For such a nice place, that part was sketchy. Definitely will be coming back overall.

Online it says happy hour is all day Sunday and Monday-Saturday from 8-9pm. When we asked our waitress about it she said the website must be incorrect, even though it was listed on the Pizza and Libations website as all day happy hour on Sunday's. We ordered mozzarella sticks and a Spritz. I also ordered 2 beer samples to try before committing to a full sized beer pour. The spritz tasted watered down and had little to no flavor. Our mozzarella sticks came out in about 15 minutes. We received our mozzarella sticks before our drinks from the bar. After receiving our appetizer, we were still waiting on our drinks we ordered and had been waiting more than 30 minutes. There were multiple tables around us checking on their drinks and food because the wait was so long even though the restaurant wasn't even halfway full. There were only about 6 people sitting at the bar. Our mozzarella sticks were fresh and the hot honey drizzle was a good addition! They were pretty thick mozzarella sticks but reminded me of a higher end Arby's mozzarella stick. We ended up getting our check after my husband finally got his drink more than 30 minutes after ordering it. All in all, service was slow and the menus were not updated with correct pricing or specials. One menu stated a Coors Light was $6 while another said it was $7. Maybe it was an off night for them. The pizza looked very good and I would like to go back to give it another shot.
