I stopped in and was surprised to see how exceptionally neat and well-organized this store was upon entering. There were plenty of bird cages and bird toys, in addition to various types of bird food. Not a thing was out of place. My favorite part of this store, however, was the bird room! There is an expansive space here where their available birds are currently residing. They have a wide variety of exotic and beautiful birds here, including budgies, cockatiels, macaws, umbrella cockatoos, and so many more. There are more that one in each variety. The birds are very well behaved (save for one who was doing his thing and squawking loudly every few seconds, lol) and lovely to admire. A pair of large parrots were out in the open and one lady pat one--which it looked like it enjoyed! I walked by one of the cages to admire another bird that was chattering away and I discovered that he could wave every time I said "Hi!" How cool! This location also offers boarding for birds in case you are away for a while. They have a separate space in the back entrance for the boarding area. The shop requires you to use hand sanitizer upon entering and to wear a mask. I approve! Overall, I can tell that these are some healthy birds that have received exceptional care. I've only had budgies in the past and noticed immediately how much larger, healthier, and sturdier their supply of budgies looked in comparison to the small, occasionally sickly, ones I see at Petsmart, for example. I definitely anticipate buying a budgie here in the near future and am hopeful that all of the amazing birds here find happy homes soon!

I just assumed for all their bragging and all the money I paid that the bird was hand-tamed. Hand-taming takes work and skills I probably don't have. It is also hard to hand-tame a bird after it is a baby. And it was not a baby; it was ten months old. It was not used to being held by people. It was in a cage with many other birds. I was led to believe differently. Now I have a bird who does not like people. I am not bringing him back; I am going to give him a good life. But this is not what I expected (or paid for). My advice is that you find a local breeder and get a bird who bonds with people.

One of my favorite memories quickly became one of the worst…read more Early in August I finally make the decision to get a pup. Fell in love with one online (who had siblings) and went in for a visit. Valerie was awesome. Super friendly, helpful (even when I called ahead to ask a few questions) and I fell in love with a great 2.5 month old lab mix. She helps me pick out all the necessities, helps me find a great deal on a kennel. Whole nine yards. Whoot whoot! Fast forward a week and a half and I realize I work too much to give this little pup the life he deserves. After two days of crying and deliberating with friends and family, I decide it will be better for him to find a home with a few more folks in it or one that has someone who is home more. Broke my heart to even have to consider, but I check the Anti Cruelty contract (which Valerie signed) and confirm within 30 days I am allowed to bring the pup back if it isn't a fit. So sad to see the pup go, but I know I can't give him the life he deserves. I show up today with full on tears, sunglasses & my pup and Valerie happens to be working. After taking care of another client, she tells me I cannot return him there, I have to take him downtown to the Anti Cruelty Society (which the contract that we both signed does not state). She also says, in a less than friendly and conversational tone, that if she does take him (even though she just said she couldn't) he will have to be quarantined in a very small cage for 2 days until someone from downtown can come and get him because he can't get the other dogs sick. At this point I share that when I got him, he had giarda and needed meds, so since the meds were done, it was a good idae to quarantine him so he did not pick up another virus. She then states that I will not get any refund on the adoption fee (even though the contract states otherwise) if I return him to her. Another group approaches the register, and then she announces that I will be placed on a No Adopt List FOR LIFE (yes, that was yelled, while others were staring) because I returned the dog. I had nothing to say at that point, but afterwards realized... would they really refuse someone from adopting a pet if the pet wasn't the right fit for them? Isn't that the responsible thing to do vs letting him loose or giving him to a family that wasn't able to care for him? We then get to the point where I simply ask for the address downtown. She says they will only give me half my adoption fee back but that might be a better deal for me since I wasn't keeping him. I mention that's not how I read the contract and she argues, but pulls out her copy to confirm that it doesn't say anything about a partial refund. She finally passes over the address to the Anti Cruelty downtown. As I am picking up the pup (he's not a fan of walking on the leash just yet) and all of his things, she asks if I am going there right now. Confused, I confirmed I was headed there. She then goes on a loud tangent about how if I didn't go right now it was her legal right to confiscate the dog, since I clearly didn't want the dog. What? On what grounds? Didn't she just say the quarantine cages were small and it would take 2 days of him being in there before he could be let out? Why would she do/say that? Keep in mind, I'm still in full on tears at this point making the choice to give my pup a better life, and being read some riot act about what she can/can't, would/wouldn't do. AND she doesn't want the dog, but will confiscate him from me. Huh?! One of the hardest decisions (but doing right by my pup) became an awful showcase of human compassion, decency and concern for an animals well being.
