We went over here with a large group after the pumpkin festival…read more My mate got the meatloaf and it did not look appealing. It looked like gray brain matter. He said it was so dry he only had a few bites. I got the BBQ burger and it was decent. I think they tried to grill the bun and just burnt it. It took like 15-20 minutes to get a drink order placed and then longer to get it. Which I don't even think that's me just being an impatient east coast kid.

The place…read morehas been completely remodeled, yet there is enough of the original building, such as brick walls, visible to still make it feel historical. Live edge wooden benches and walnut bar, attractive decor, dark paint colors, and plenty of beautiful wood make it feel warm and cozy. The food was good. I ordered meatloaf. Good meaty taste...almost more like a hamburger steak than meatloaf, with seared and slightly crispy exterior. Smashed potatoes were good. Green beans were tender, but without seasoning. Hubby had the chicken pot pie. He said that the gravy tasted good, but it needed more vegetables and chicken. The chicken that was there was a tad bit dry. The fairly small bowl was covered with a huge biscuit. Again, he said it was good, but felt that he either needed less biscuit or more stew. Service was good. Prices not too bad. Atmosphere great. Good food, maybe not over the top entirely, but still worth having a meal here.

Food comes out super quick. The fish taco and crawfish taco were excellent with a spicy kick from either the aioli or pickled onions. The cod tasted fresh and I liked the breading. I'd order these again, hands down. My husband had his hand breaded tenderloin with fries. He loved the brioche roll and the generous pork patty was tender. He would have liked a bit of seasoning in the breading. The fries are perfectly crispy and delicious. We found free street parking nearby.

The service was alright (not bad, but nothing special this go), the food was good except the wings that were very rubbery, and they have a great tap and bottled beer selection. It was Taco Tuesday ($2.50 tacos), so I think every local schooner in Madison was there for dinner. Apparently a bunch of restaurants in town are closed on Tuesdays, but OBT is not one of them. Overall, good but not great... Cool place though, so I'll come back again when in town.

Atmosphere here is really cool. There's a couple rooms decorated with cool paintings. It has a pretty large selection of beers. It doesn't make any of these in house. They have a few local beers including the Middletown Brewing Company collaboration with True West, the coffee stout. It's about $5 for a 16 ounce. This is strong and thick. It tastes a lot like an iced coffee. The rest of the beers on tap are mainly from the Cincinnati or Dayton breweries including MadTree and Warped Wing. The atmosphere is the best among the bars. It doesn't get more relaxed. There is usually a show every weekend.

The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood taproom: casual, lively, and family-friendly. The bar is huge, with an impressive selection of draft beers (especially if you're an IPA fan), and they also have bourbon bottles available for purchase. We ordered burgers, and they were all really good. One bun seemed a little stale, but it didn't take away from the overall meal. The cheese curds were a standout: piping hot, crispy, and definitely worth ordering. The beef nachos, on the other hand, were a bit disappointing. They arrived cold and just didn't have the same wow factor as the rest of the food. My sweet potato fries were a little soggy, but I took the leftovers home and popped them in the air fryer the next day, and they turned out fantastic. Overall, I'd definitely go back. If you're looking for a laid-back spot with great burgers, a huge beer selection, and a menu that has something for just about everyone in the family, dog and kid friendly, 859 Taproom is a solid choice.

After I stood in line to place my order I did not realize I needed to order my drink also. The gentleman that took my order did not ask if I wanted a drink with my meal. So I just got water from the water cooler they had on a table. Their beer may be good but since they do not have a bartender and is wasn't offered one I cannot comment on it. You are also expected to bus your own table after you finish. If I am going out for dinner I do not want to feel like I am eating at a food truck.

I don't know that there's any way to know this, but they were closed to the public for a private party until 4:00. Not a big deal. We grabbed a tea around the corner and returned after the party ended. This place is great! What a fabulous selection of brews. Even more extraordinary was the massive selection of alcohol free beers. I've never seen anything like it. Though the partiers lingered a bit, we were able to snatch a comfy table for two by the window. It's the perfect spot for two. Unfortunately I don't recall what I ordered, though I'd remember it if I saw it. Mark had a AF beer and he really enjoyed it. I tasted it and it was delightfully unique. The selection of beer to purchase and take away was huge. I intended to return after dinner, but it was cold and I was too ready to go home.
