From Priscilla (in the front) to our DEAR Dr. Mike (HAIRFIELD) it all goes perfect. My daughter grew up seeing us take our dogs to Dr. Mike and not she takes her 3 dogs (all ALL before now!!) to the same place, same doctor. Our pets love everyone there because they can tell THEY ARE LOVED. My deep appreciation for ALL that you do for our fur babies. Love you Dr. Hairfield

I was so impressed with this Veterinary office. My 13yr old dog was having some stomach issues…read more She's not the friendliest dog. She gets nervous easy and so starts to bark. She sounds and looks scary, which makes most people tense up and that makes the situation worse. This usually happens even at vets offices. But for the first time in her long life she was made to feel comfortable at a vet office! Both the vet tech (so sorry I don't remember her name - she was WONDERFUL) and Dr. Lynn were so good with her. The got down on here level, approached from the side (something we will advise others to try going forward) and were patient and gave her treats. After just a little bit of working with and on her, my nervous dog happily left the exam room WITH Dr. Lynn without even looking back at us. I've NEVER seen her do that ... even with people she knows. Now for the important stuff. Her stomach is better. They did testing, but before getting all of the results gave me some things and suggestions to help her at home. And it all worked wonderfully. She's gaining weight again. Her stomach is good. She sleeps through the night again. AND as an added bonus, after months of trying everything under the sun they also gave me a solution to the fleas that actually worked! Which is a huge relief for us and the dog. Love this place. Prices weren't the cheapest but very reasonable for all they did.

We got there at 10:33am and the ladies up front were very nice. We had to wait an hour before going back to a room but they did take our dog back to get a set of vitals while we were waiting. Once we went back to the room we waited another 30 mins before a vet tech came and took our dog back. All the staff were very friendly. Dr. Robertson is who treated our dog and he came in and discussed options, plans, and his recommendations. He was super nice and knowledgeable and I felt like gave us his undivided attention. Didn't feel rushed at all. The vet techs were so good with her too. She got a fun easter themed dressing. Besides the wait time, I was pleased with her care and the staff!!

My primary care provider actually recommended adopting a cat to help manage my anxiety, and my cat has truly been a source of comfort for me. Unfortunately, a recent visit to AoA was extremely distressing. During the visit, a staff member accidentally dropped my cat's carrier, causing it to crack open. My cat escaped and ran down an embankment, eventually hiding along the side of the building. The staff member attributed the incident to a "faulty carrier," though the situation could have been avoided with more care. While several staff members and patrons assisted in trying to recover my cat, the situation escalated further when a dog attacked one of the staff members during the rescue attempt. Thankfully, with the help of other patrons, I was eventually able to recover my cat. The entire experience was frightening and emotionally overwhelming. What made this worse was how the situation was handled afterward. Despite everything that occurred, AoA attempted to charge me $30 for the visit. When I asked the Practice Manager, Allyson Joyce, whether I could be made whole given what had just happened, I was accused of trying to get a "free" visit. I was also told not to return. During this exchange, Ms. Joyce stated, "I bought my dogs," even though I do not own any dogs. When I later contacted the Director, Lisa O'Neill, I was met with the same accusation. I made it clear to both individuals that I do not have dogs and expressed concern over being misidentified and blamed in a situation where I had done nothing wrong. Instead of accountability or compassion following a traumatic incident, I felt dismissed and scapegoated. I adopted my cat from AoA with gratitude and good intentions, but this experience left me deeply disappointed. I believe organizations like this should prioritize safety, empathy, and accountability--especially when a pet owner and animal are put at risk. I'm sharing this review to keep the community informed and to encourage better practices in the future.

Brought my cat here for an exam and a dental. First impressions were not great. The entire place…read moresmells so strongly of urine and is very run down and dirty. I was told I was not allowed to go into the exam room with her and I was not able to speak with the actual vet at all. I have no idea who was with my cat or where she went which I am not 100% comfortable with. I knew she would likely have to get a dental done because her teeth weren't looking great. A girl with a clipboard said they require blood work 2 weeks before the exam and I said ok but then came back and said I could do it right that second and be in the next week or else I'd have to wait until July. I asked if I could get a price estimate because they aren't cheap. They gave me a range of $300-$1200 and could not narrow it down at all. I asked if I could have a minute to consider it and figure out how to pay for everything and she said yes but came back within 2 minutes and told me I had to make my choice. They do not offer payment plans and they don't take pet insurance. I agreed to have it done because it seemed like I didn't really have another choice. Day of, I dropped my cat off for her dental at 8 am (drop off is between 7:30 and 8:30) and they told me to come back around 5 and that she would probably be done earlier. I got there at 5:15 and my cat was not done. They bring all of the cats into the waiting room and put them on a shelf or on the floor in carriers next to each other. From what I overheard most of them were feral/ strays that had been dropped off for spay/neuters and then would be picked up again. My cat has lived indoors her entire life and has not been around others and I don't love that they just put them all together within sneezing and touching distance. That didn't even really matter though because she was not ready until after 6, so I waited an extra hour on top of driving 45 minutes there. When she was finally brought out to me, I still had to wait for them to finish doing all of the paperwork, to pay, and to get her medications and aftercare instructions. Then they told me the price which was fair. They trimmed her nails and did a more thorough exam while she was under which was nice. They gave me 2 medications but did not tell me how to give them to her or when and told me to read the instructions in the box which are not the most straightforward. When I got in the car I looked more closely at my cat and her neck and face were wet and there was blood on her chest. It would have been nice for them to have cleaned that off during the 10 hours that they had her. I appreciate that they're a charity and they do a lot of good for the community but overall it just was not a good experience for me and I have no idea how my cat was treated at any point. I cannot say that I recommend this place or will be coming back and it might be worth it to just pay a little more taking your pets somewhere else for yours and their sake.
