Cheyanne Groomed that Boy perfectly that whole time without complaint....I also have this Giant German Sheppard that we saved from the Pound....He can smell pretty darn bad at times because of unknown condition....and again....Cheyanne took care of that boy as if he were a Police K9.....Her work is also the Best of the BEST!....I'm sad to lose her. I missed having her around. A couple weeks later we went out to a rescues open house at a pet store to get my doggie fix. After the first one, we stumbled onto another one. This one was BARK's pet adoption day at a pet food store. I walked around the cages and saw this beautiful white German Shepherd laying in his crate in the regal way only a Shepherd can pull off. He looked at me with his soft, warm, brown eyes and I asked to see him. The volunteer got JoJo Shep out of his cage and the dog jumped up on me and showered me with kisses. So maybe he didn't have the best manners but he did have plenty of love. BARK had rescued him from a shelter who was going to put him down because of the horrible heath condition they found JoJo in when he arrived. Bob (who runs the place) did not accept that and took JoJo to the BARK vet and after a few weeks, the dog was off deaths door. As a testament to this care, over a year after adopting JoJo, we went back to let JoJo say good bye to Bob because we were moving to California. JoJo ran up to him and almost tackled him!! Even after all that time away, the dog still remembered the kindness shown to him! Bob and the rest of the people at BARK are commitment to the welfare of the dogs in their care. They spare no expense in caring for these dogs and do their best to place them in the best home possible. If the dog is not placed, they can live their life out on the BARK farm. If I was a dog and found myself on the street, I would want BARK to pick me up!!

We weren't really looking to adopt, but then we saw Kelsey at the Cosner's Corner PetSmart and she was a miniature version after our Sugar who had recently passed away. Our daughter fell in love with her and the rest is history. We enjoyed working with B.A.R.K. so much that when Sugar's sister died a few years later we adopted another girls (Midnight) from B.A.R.K. with equally exceptional service. They are truly an excellent facility to work with and will go the extra mile to ensure all their animals are as healthy as they can be before they are allowed to be adopted out. Most of the time, the sick/injured animals are treated at their local clinic and are then fostered out until they are heathy and properly socialized!!

My 6 month old dog is dead because I trusted Pawcienda. Please don't make the same mistake!…read more It has been too hard to type these words out, as I come to the reality of life without my best friend, Duke, our chocolate lab puppy who died due to an outbreak of Parainfluenza (aka Kennel Cough) at Pawcienda. Duke was at Pawcienda for training with Stephen, and also enrolled in the doggie day care. He was exposed to Parainfluenza from another dog at their doggie day care, but I was lead to believe it wasn't serious and that he should be fine in a few days. Before this he was a healthy dog and had all of his vaccinations. They weren't going to take him to the vet, but my wife made them! We now know that by law a kennel/boarding facility has to take a dog to the vet, so this was the first red flag! The vet realized it was bad and had turned into Pneumonia, so they rushed Duke to a critical care vet, VRCC. During this time I was on the phone with the owner, Jeff, and he told me that they had cases of Kennel Cough for 2 weeks! That means that this was going on before I even brought Duke to Pawcienda, and they placed their business above the welfare of my dog. If we had been made aware we could have prevented all of this! Duke died 2 days after we were made aware of him being exposed to Kennel Cough. This is very unusual, so an investigation by Animal Control was opened, and a Necropsy was performed. The findings of the Necropsy determined that Duke had Kennel cough for 4 - 6 days prior to death. This evidence proves that Duke was exposed much earlier than we were lead to believe. In addition during the investigation the animal control officer was informed that they had put up a sign alerting people to ongoing Kennel Cough on a Friday, and we were not notified until Monday. This along with the Necropsy results shows that he was there all weekend with Kennel Cough and either A) was not being monitored closely enough to recognize the signs, or B) they were negligent in not providing care to a sick dog early enough to prevent death. Since Duke's death we have found out that this is a serious outbreak of Kennel Cough, that has killed many dogs in NJ, and has now started to spread in Virginia. Please avoid having this happen to your dog, and avoid Pawcienda.
