This your traditional British pub with marble exterior and well-preserved, original Edwardian ceilings and wooden bar. A lot of historic on the Duke of Wellington celebrating his great victories. The food is excellent with copious portion and great shepherds pie, fish and chips and of course great services. This is delicious finger's food!

Came here for pre-show drinks and snacks, it was absolutely packed but we were still able to be served pretty quickly. Typical pub with full bar and good finger foods available.

Absolutely loved this charming top floor nook of a restaurant. Everything and everyone was cheery! The ambiance is eclectic and whimsical. The food is DELISH! Their pies are so unique and well crafted. I had the fish pie and I am still wanting to go back for another! I loved their selection of NA beverages. My boyfriend and I had a magical date night here!

What a wonderful stop. Pleasant staff and great food. Started with a small salad and calamari. Next we split the chicken and mushroom pie. We couldn't agree on dessert so I had the apple pie and my wife had the sticky toffee pudding. Both were great. Great stop.

This was the first bar I moseyed into upon arriving in London. It is right next to the theater that was showing Lion King, so in the early evening it was tough to get a seat inside or outside. It's owned by a chain so it's hard to get too excited but the food, drinks and service were all good. I liked the fact that you could order from your table with the QR code. Nice joint!

Decent stop in the theater district. They had several different options for beers. For dinner I had the toad in the hole. Definitely a decent sized portion. The sausages were tasty. It came with mashed potatoes and a popover with gravy.

This weary tourist, having been awake and on his feet for 26 hours, found himself at the Wellington at the end of his first, and longest day in the United Kingdom. Having no idea (at the time) that this establishment was a part of a larger chain of gastropubs (similar to the McMenamins franchises of the Pacific Northwest, USA), I was initially taken in by the exterior decor, which appealed to me as a fairly authentic British pub. I was also not in a position to argue with my feet or stomach, at the time. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my first fish and chips in the UK: a hearty, filling cut atop a bed of slightly overdone "fries" (pardon the American lingo). I would dine on fish and chips several more times during my two weeks in the UK, but the Wellington's offering proved to be above par (although overwhelmingly dethroned by Knight's Fish and Chips in Glastonbury, of all places). Even so, it was exactly what I needed before passing out in a dead slump on top of my hotel bed. If this is the sort of quality that one can expect from a chain restaurant in the UK, then it would be difficult to be disappointed. Additionally, I enjoyed their wine selection, which included a vintage from my hometown back in the US, which was a pleasant and unexpected surprise.

I came out here for lunch prior to setting off to Kensington Palace in search of some pretty darn good meat pie. Well, I definitely came to the right place! I love this rustic, gorgeous pub with an upper level for a dining room. I felt like I was getting a great London Experience out here. I ordered the steak and ale pie, which came with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy, root vegetables, and gravy boat to pour over everything. The meal hit the spot: it was perfectly hearty and tasty, the pie itself was pretty big. The middle was hot and steaming with the meat and gravy inside, but the outside had a wonderfully flaky crust that I enjoyed immensely breaking apart. The sides were pretty generous in portion, so I definitely did not leave here full. The service was good, stopped in the night before to ask about reservation and they told me to simply fill out my request online the night before, which I did. Another bonus is that they take cash, which helps considering that I came out to London with no inkling that much of central London had gone cashless. I would definitely eat here again if I wanted a good taste of meat pie on another visit to London!

Amazing customer service, they helped my party of 18 people so well. The ambiance is classic and one of my fave European pub styles right in the shopping center. Good was excellent, would love to come back.

Given the location, I knew it was probably a tourist trap and I wish to avoid those usually but had no time so stopped in on a Monday afternoon for lunch. I'm so glad I did! I was in London only briefly and had yet to try proper fish and chips and I was definitely WOW'd. I've only had this in America, and this was definitely better than anything I've ever had. When it arrived on my table, I could feel the heat from the plate -- that's how scalding hot and fresh it was, and I loved that! The cod was absolutely massive, a thick portion of fish deep fried with the skin on within an incredibly crunchy beer batter. There were pieces of bone in it, but no bother, this only made it seem more fresh. The chips (thick cut fries) were perfectly crispy and both the fish and chips were insanely delicious with a bit of salt and malt vinegar (which I had to request by walking up to the bar). The dish came with a tartar sauce and ketchup, but tasted way better with the salt and vin. I absolutely love that the fish and chips also came with mushy peas, whereas most pubs only give you fish and chips alone. The dish was also very well priced at 9.95 GBP, and I was able to use my credit card, rounded up to 10 GBP because they have a 10 GBP minimum for using cards. I appreciate that this restaurant had free wi-fi, which I found out by asking my waiter, who quickly provided the secret code for me to use. In America you would never ask your server for this but I noticed that nearly every hotel and restaurant I visited during my 11-day tour of Europe offered wi-fi. Good on them, because how else would I check in to a restaurant on Yelp and shower them with praise and circulate promotional foodie photos on Instagram? During a weekday, many workers nearby flood this place to grab a pint during lunch....now, why don't I work in London? I would give this place five stars based on the food alone, but I am giving it four because I wished the service had been more attentive, as I had to go up to the bar to get malt vinegar and also to ask to pay my bill. I understand service in Europe is more laissez-faire than in America, but since this is a tourist spot I would have liked to be checked on by the staff at least once during my meal, and certainly to be presented with the bill. Note: They also serve Sunday roast dinner for 9.95 GBP on Sundays

Being from the states I am not as familiar with all the UK brands --- but they seem to offer a wide variety of beers (lots on tap) and cocktails. TIP: I recommend hitting this place before 5:30 on the weekdays as the happy hour crowd fills this join up.

We arrived just after the work day, and the crowd was buzzing just outside. We did the self-seating option indoors, and sat down to a great view of the Thames river, as we pondered our meal choices from the menu. The location is just great. For a leadoff drink, I had to go with the house cask ale, which was the Fuller's ESB, a drink I've been enjoying since the 1990's, and it delivered as expected. I went with an order of Sausages with mashed potatoes and peas...it doesn't get much more classic than that, and I was happy with it, especially with the quantity (3 sausages!). Wifey was on the hunt for a meat pie, and she went with the Steak, Ale & Mushroom Pie, which I can report was wholeheartedly approved. One of the better pies we've had on the overall trip, and the best we had at a pub location. The overall vibe of this pub is exactly as you might picture it, and we weren't disappointed with any aspect. Service, though not overly patient (hey - they were busy), was competent and pleasant. Cheers!
