This was our first meal in London and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! We loved the decor and ambiance! The vibe felt very true to the area. The service was great too! Very welcoming and efficient!

Our first pub experience and we enjoyed a delicious dinner! We loved the warm relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly and we ordered a variety of food to sample. I enjoyed my cider, roasted squash and baked Camembert. My boys loved the classic burger and the sausages. To be honest, I couldn't wait for dessert and it did not disappoint! Loved the sticky toffee pudding.

Wine and onion rings (odd I know) we're both spectacular. A bit in the pricey side though but the ambiance is so awesome. And the location just south of Trafalgar is the best. The service is not the best at least this evening it wasn't. Order from the bar, not the app.

Really nice space and tasty food! The service is very easy. Pick your seat, go to the car to order and checkout, and then they bring the food to your table. You can sit downstairs where it's a little more lively, or you can go upstairs where it's a little quieter and cozy. We sat upstairs and it was a very nice vibe. The desserts were amazing. Sticky toffee pudding, and raspberry panna cotta. The panna cotta was our favorite. For the meal, I got the fish cake with a poached egg on top. It was very tasty, and the egg was poached so well. It was filling and seasoned well (which was hard to find in England!). Nice clean bathrooms as well.

Fish was great. They were out of tradition chips and substituted with fries. Service was very good.

Really lovely waitress. Lovely fast service. Good quality local farm ingredients. Delicious stop near all the hot spots in London. Gives you that old classic London pub feel. It has a full bar. Upstairs is nice and the bathrooms are super clean and interesting. It has a comforting feeling to hangout and enjoy a meal here. I enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding very much.

A delicious dinner/drink stop near Trafalgar Square! We were lucky to be able to get a table here on our last night in London. The area was very busy on a Tuesday night, so this was, admittedly, our second or third stop, but felt like it was meant to be as soon as we got our hands on a menu! We were a group of 5, so, to start, we ordered the ploughman's lunch, which is like an ultimate sharing board with all kinds of fun staple foods on it like scotch egg, a sausage roll, ham, etc. - all the foods you MUST try when visiting England including Branston pickle (love it or hate it, it's a must try!). All of the food that we had was absolutely amazing. I had the potato & leak pie for my entree and cannot recommend it highly enough. The setup of this restaurant is pretty standard in comparison to other pubs/restaurants in the area in that it's very clean and pleasant. Our waitress was the highlight of our evening. She was so busy, but still kind and chatty. They had a large party coming in at 8, so she asked that we put our order in by 8 so that she could make sure ours was priority. She did a great job checking up on us and making sure we always had full drinks and everything that we needed.

Went for the beer and stayed for the Scotch Eggs and Camembert Cheese platter. Best snack after walking around for 3 hours. Wait staff is spectacular and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Ambiance is just what you would want for a pub - cannot wait to come back.

Friendly service, nice cozy place with great food! We were walking by and kind of skeptical about their board in front of of the restaurant saying best fish & chip in town but I have to agree with it It was very yummy and their beef pie was delicious too!

The beer was lovely. But there I left a present for my pregnant wife. Half an hour after I left it, I went back and asked the staff, but they replied that they had never seen it. Then I saw a male employee next to me secretly laughing. Of course, I can't be sure that I'm suspicious. However, it wasn't easy to get rid of my doubts when I saw the staff shouting no at first sight and the staff laughing secretly around me as soon as I asked. They told me to be careful of pickpockets in the UK, but I think the staff at the local restaurant should also be careful. I want to tell everyone who goes here to be careful of things.

I had the fish and chips. Fish was fresh and the chips were chippy. Service was great and the atmosphere was the perfect British Pub. I'll come here again.

Given the location, I knew it was probably a tourist trap and I wish to avoid those usually but had no time so stopped in on a Monday afternoon for lunch. I'm so glad I did! I was in London only briefly and had yet to try proper fish and chips and I was definitely WOW'd. I've only had this in America, and this was definitely better than anything I've ever had. When it arrived on my table, I could feel the heat from the plate -- that's how scalding hot and fresh it was, and I loved that! The cod was absolutely massive, a thick portion of fish deep fried with the skin on within an incredibly crunchy beer batter. There were pieces of bone in it, but no bother, this only made it seem more fresh. The chips (thick cut fries) were perfectly crispy and both the fish and chips were insanely delicious with a bit of salt and malt vinegar (which I had to request by walking up to the bar). The dish came with a tartar sauce and ketchup, but tasted way better with the salt and vin. I absolutely love that the fish and chips also came with mushy peas, whereas most pubs only give you fish and chips alone. The dish was also very well priced at 9.95 GBP, and I was able to use my credit card, rounded up to 10 GBP because they have a 10 GBP minimum for using cards. I appreciate that this restaurant had free wi-fi, which I found out by asking my waiter, who quickly provided the secret code for me to use. In America you would never ask your server for this but I noticed that nearly every hotel and restaurant I visited during my 11-day tour of Europe offered wi-fi. Good on them, because how else would I check in to a restaurant on Yelp and shower them with praise and circulate promotional foodie photos on Instagram? During a weekday, many workers nearby flood this place to grab a pint during lunch....now, why don't I work in London? I would give this place five stars based on the food alone, but I am giving it four because I wished the service had been more attentive, as I had to go up to the bar to get malt vinegar and also to ask to pay my bill. I understand service in Europe is more laissez-faire than in America, but since this is a tourist spot I would have liked to be checked on by the staff at least once during my meal, and certainly to be presented with the bill. Note: They also serve Sunday roast dinner for 9.95 GBP on Sundays

Being from the states I am not as familiar with all the UK brands --- but they seem to offer a wide variety of beers (lots on tap) and cocktails. TIP: I recommend hitting this place before 5:30 on the weekdays as the happy hour crowd fills this join up.

We arrived just after the work day, and the crowd was buzzing just outside. We did the self-seating option indoors, and sat down to a great view of the Thames river, as we pondered our meal choices from the menu. The location is just great. For a leadoff drink, I had to go with the house cask ale, which was the Fuller's ESB, a drink I've been enjoying since the 1990's, and it delivered as expected. I went with an order of Sausages with mashed potatoes and peas...it doesn't get much more classic than that, and I was happy with it, especially with the quantity (3 sausages!). Wifey was on the hunt for a meat pie, and she went with the Steak, Ale & Mushroom Pie, which I can report was wholeheartedly approved. One of the better pies we've had on the overall trip, and the best we had at a pub location. The overall vibe of this pub is exactly as you might picture it, and we weren't disappointed with any aspect. Service, though not overly patient (hey - they were busy), was competent and pleasant. Cheers!
