Title: Extremely disappointed - damaged windshield and zero transparency I am very disappointed with my experience at the Volvo dealer in Winter Park. I trusted them with what should have been a premium, high‑integrity buying experience, but instead drove off the lot with a windshield that has deep scratches across the glass. The scratches are clearly visible in normal daylight when driving and should have been obvious to anyone inspecting the car. What bothers me most is that these scratches were not disclosed at any point in the sales process. The vehicle was presented as if everything was in excellent condition, and the way the car was parked and shown made it easy to miss the damage until later while driving. It absolutely feels like the damage was hidden rather than addressed honestly. For a luxury brand dealer, this level of lack of transparency is unacceptable. I now have to deal with the cost, hassle, and safety concerns of a damaged windshield on a vehicle that should never have left the lot in this condition. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with this dealership to thoroughly inspect every inch of the vehicle and get everything in writing, because my experience has shown that you cannot rely on them to be upfront about issues. Unfortunately I do not have anything encouraging to say about this dealership. About 15 years ago I moved to FL from out of state and was looking to buy a sedan cash (to replace the one I had up north, it was a great car) The salesperson would not take me serious as a young buyer insisting on a cash sale for a new vehicle. They told me to come back with my parents. They didn't seem to want to do biz with me as a young adult even on an easy sale. It was quite upsetting. I never returned and purchased a Volkswagen instead. Fast forward I'm interested in Volvo again and seeing what the brand and new lineup is about. The salesperson I encountered this time was extremely aggressive. Barely was able to answer my questions unless he could charge me more features. Simple inquiries were answered with more $$ options. Additionally and most importantly, I wasn't looking for a vehicle appraisal or to make a deal. I was looking to learn. The salesperson walked himself out to my car regardless and started taking pictures. I did not agree to this. He even went as far as started opening my doors without my permission and helping himself into my car taking more pictures. I eventually had to step inbetween and ask him to stop taking pictures of my personal belongings and my car that I'm not asking to be appraised. He was very persistent about being in my car despite not wanting to take these steps and it made me quite uncomfortable. I ended up leaving, feeling like I wasted my time and learned nothing about the cars. I was very disappointed in my experience and I feel completely set back. I have never had this happen in the past anywhere and I feel like my personal privacy was completely invaded. It's been a few days and I'm still sensitive about it. I do not recommend this dealership at all. The behavior of their staff speaks magnitudes and I would hate to see what that changes into once you're committed to their dealership for service after purchase. Again I am walking away from Volvo. These people have been absolutely lovely from beginning to end. I will definitely be coming back when possible. Everyone I talked with was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I was unaware of the extent of Volvo's services even for older models. You can still feel like you're walking out of the store as a current customer, even if your baby is in its teens. I would highly recommend this as your primary Volvo dealership and servicing station if you can manage it. I have been a loyal Volvo customer for the last two decades and had a horrible experience in this service center. I was traveling on vacation and got a flat tire. Knowing my tires are under guarantee by Volvo service, I slowly drove over to them asking for support. I was told it would take approximately 90 minutes to plug the tire as the puncture had not damaged the tire. I understood as I was a walk in and decided to wait. Instead, I waited four hours for a simple plug that would have taken 15-20 minutes max. There were no apologies given, no understanding even though I lost four hours of travel, a whole bunch of excuses, and frankly left a real bad taste on this Volvo store. Now I see why they get a 2.5!! I recommend you take your vehicle to another dealership for service or consider buying your car from someone who truly cares. And then after my service I get an email from a Whitney asking me how I felt about my service experience BEFORE I receive their survey, I responded to that email in detail about my issues and still never got a response, that was several weeks ago. Of course after I sent that email, I never received the survey because they are trying to save their numbers apparently. The worst service department ever. I had appointment for routine service at 10:45. Waited for 3 hours to get my car back for oil change and tire rotation. The service adviser explained that they want the car there at 10:45 but it may not get into service bay until there is an opening. My car did not get into service bay until 12:45. They need to fire the service manage and start over. I would do better time wise if I drove to Tampa to get service next time. read more

We purchased a vehicle from this dealership that has had computer, air conditioning, parking and safety issues. We have contacted the dealership numerous times regarding these issues with a response stating that they are communicating with Volvo to come to a resolution. Asked for breakdown of tag and title fees on a new car, since the quoted $$$ was double the Tax Collector website fees. Volvo Store had included an amount for "Document Stamp Fee", which is a tax paid by the lender to the State and required to enforce the loan documents in court. It is not a fee paid by the dealership, rather it is included by the loan costs by the lender. If a buyer pays a "Document Stamp Fee" to a dealer, you have been tricked into an additional profit. And your lender still has to pay that fee to the State, at your expense. Beware, and calculate your "tax, title, registration, and tag" fees from your county Tac Colllector web site. read more

Went to the Volvo Store with my wife as we were in the market to buy a used car. We were looking at Volvo or Subaru cars to see which one panned out the best for us. We went to the Volvo Store in Winter Park first and met with Tom. We did look up a few cars they had posted online and showed them to Tom. We sat down with him and went over what we were doing with letting him know we are looking at other dealerships and not purchasing today. He was totally fine with it as he listened to everything we were looking for and did not push us to get a new or more expensive car, he stuck to what we wanted. We did leave to go too the Subaru dealership in Sanford and ended up having the complete opposite experience we had at Volvo. We left Subaru with no interest in going with that dealership. We did poke around other Subaru dealerships and no luck as we wanted to give Subaru an equal opportunity. With that we went back too the Volvo Store and met with Tom again to purchase the car we wanted. We do not buy cars often and we were regretting the process of purchasing a car. But at this place? DO NOT BUY ANY VOLVO. Volvo is a very poor quality and terrible installation car. I should have known that since the Chinese bought Volvo company several years ago. We bought a XC 90 top of the line for $ 72,000. At just 20,000 miles there were so many problems in transmission, computer system malfunction, sound system, lighting fixtures. At 54,000 miles, just 1 month after the warranty expired, the water leaking inside the car, running like a faucet, every time it's raining outside due to drain tube on the sunroof that didn't work. Since it's out of the warranty, we have to pay for it to get fix. In addition, it makes these noises due to poor installation of rubbers on sunroof. This is the worst car we have ever driven. Also the customer service of this location is terrible. They are very unpleasant, unhelpful with bad attitudes. They didn't even washed our car when we have service. Their excuse was it was raining. It was raining like 15 minutes and our car was at their service center for 7 hours. I asked them why they didn't wash car when it's stopped raining. Their excuse was there were other cars in the shop. I guess they couldn't wash one more car during that 7 hours period. read more

First time here today taking my mom's car in for a check up and oil change. I guess I am spoiled at Toyota because I was surprised there was no one to greet me as I entered service. Sat in my car for a few minutes and finally called someone for help. The staff were not rude, but they weren't the friendliest either. Pros- the waiting room had free bottles water and coffee, TV and a iPad you can use while you wait. Nice leather chairs in a comfortable glass room. My valve on the windshield wiper wasn't working so they grabbed one and installed it right in front of me free. Cons- the oil change, tire rotation and fluid top off cost $104 and took 1 1/2 hours. Thought that was expensive, but don't know my prices for oil + tire rotation. I know oil can be done for a lot less. They could be friendlier. Took a long time. However, my own experience changed for the better on October 8, 2020. Michael, service rep, was outstanding from drop-off to pick-up. He kept me informed throughout the day and had my vehicle cleaned and ready when I arrived same afternoon. The service department identified and resolved two issues. An unexpected outcome from a new set of tires was the resolution of what had been a 2.5 years experience of the car pulling to the right; that's a story for another time. I was told that I needed a very important and expensive service done as soon as possible. Considering I just moved up here and was not working, I decided to get a second opinion. I took my car to a highly recommended mechanic shop and was told that there was absolutely nothing wrong and the service that I had been quoted for was not needed at this time. I have just recently purchased a 2012 Volvo XC70 and wanted to do an alignment. Michale Reyes was my service advisor and was very knowledgeable and helpful. Even though I wanted to do an alignment he advised against it as I also needed to purchase tires with in a few months. He recommended I wait till I purchase tires and do it all at once, which would be with in a few months or so. I don't drive my vehicle much or far so this was a great advice. He also emailed me pictures of my accessory belt that needed replacing which was very helpful. I like the fact they don't try to sell you services you do not need, and only make suggestions as to services that should be performed. I will continue to go to The Volvo Store, here in Winter Park, Florida, and I would recommend other to do so as well. They also have a great shuttle service that travels in a 15 mile radius, which is quite far. read more

I am writing about my absolutely fantastic experience at the Volvo dealership in Winter Park, FL and how they helped me buy a car. I am a healthcare worker in the state of New York. I was in desperate need of a car since mine was starting to become unreliable. As a healthcare worker helping in the battle against Corona Virus; missing work was not an option. All the dealerships in my area are shut down due to shelter in place and social distancing. My parents live in the area; so I looked at their inventory and saw an S60 sedan I liked. My father went into the dealership and was greeted by a salesman by the name of Carlito; who was willing to deal with me over the phone, being in NY, and my father in person. He showed my father the car and let him test drive it. Carlito was patient, accommodating, and informative explaining the features of the car. Once I decided I was interested in this vehicle; it was time to work out the numbers. I have to say the best part of this whole process was working with General Sales Manager of the dealership; a gentleman by the name of Ian Riding. He worked with me over the phone to get to a fair monthly payment for a beautiful S60 sedan. There was no time wasted haggling; Ian knew I wanted the car and did everything he could to get the payments as low as he could. Since I was not there in person he would text and email pictures of the numbers so that I could understand how we were getting to the payments. He was beyond patient. I was not dealing with someone trying to get my money; but a man who was doing his best to get me into a car I wanted and needed. Ian and I exchanged stories about our families, spoke about the corona virus, about cars, and maintained a regular conversation while doing business. Ian went out of his way to put me in touch with s shipping company that he uses to expedite the process of getting my car to me in New York. Ian answered several phone calls and texts from me throughout the entire process. When it came to finances; I worked with a gentleman named Bob who had fantastic communication skills regarding paperwork; Insurnace, and changing of registrations. He overnighted the paperwork for me to fill out and took all of my questions. I have to say this was the easiest car buying experience I have ever had. Whether they were selling lawn mowers or luxury cars; I would gladly work with all three gentlemen again. I'll keep using them all the same. You can count on their service being correct and knowledgeable, service writers to "set you up". Ask for the loaner when the job is pushing $300 or so if needed. I'm a bit divided on The Volvo Store. I'll list some negatives first: * When I bought my pre-owned 2010 S40 in Feb. 2011, I got a great deal. However, I started having some problems right away. A pin was apparently missing from the spare tire in the trunk, thus setting off a sensor. The Volvo Store claimed it was there when I purchased the car according to their paperwork, but I had never even touched the spare (nor did I know anything about that pin). * In that process, it was noticed that one of my 4 tires was a different brand, despite the paperwork saying all 4 tires were the same. They swore up and down that all 4 tires were the same when I purchased it and that I must have changed it. I think I would have known if I had changed it as I have been the only one driving this car. After putting my foot down and speaking with the head of the service department, they finally changed out the tire to give me one that matched. I'm still not pleased with the fact that they tried to pin it on me rather than taking responsibility for it. That's just rude and unprofessional. * I have had to bring my car in *multiple* times for problems with the air conditioning air flow. At one point, I barely had any air coming out of the vents at all (and I hadn't even had it for a full year at that point). Not good when you have a black leather interior and it's in the 90s outside. Thankfully, my warranty covered every repair, but should a car have that many issues so early on? * When I bought my car, I was told I would not have to worry about that moldy/mildewy smell that you may find in earlier models. I was told a fan would come on once the motor was turned off, and that would dry out any dampness that might accumulate. No fan ever stays on once I turn the engine off, and I've started to smell that smell already. There's an official service bulletin out on this, so it's not a freak issue. Unfortunately, they have to take steps to try and discover what the issue truly is before they take the dashboard apart and do some investigation/ part replacement. That's the next step for me. In the meantime, they have sprayed a disinfectant in there to try and kill whatever may have built up. This has all been going on for about a year and a half. * My parents had taken in their 2008 S80 and were told their rear axle was bad. They were urged to replace it. At apx. $800, they took it to elsewhere to find out there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. Hmmmmm.... I don't blame them for being angry, losing trust, and wanting to take their car elsewhere for servicing and repairs. And now to end on the positive (and the reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1): * Of all of the service reps overseeing my car repairs, Mike Keller has been the absolute best. Top notch customer service, personable, and he takes the time to explain everything very well. He's found things that I may have missed, and he's made sure they've been taken care of. I totally trust him and have actually requested that I deal with him exclusively whenever I have to bring my car in. I feel comfortable with him, I more thoroughly understand what is going on with my car, and know that my car is in the best possible hands. * Felix, one of the mechanics, is the best. Nice guy, and he has a great reputation. He has a lot of experience, is very honest, and does a great job. Apparently a lot of people request that he work on their car -- and it's understandable why. Even a friend of mine who worked for Volvo North America recommended him. The lowdown: if I could give 5 stars for just Mike Keller and Felix alone, I would do so in a heartbeat. Otherwise, I may consider taking my Volvo elsewhere for servicing, despite it still being covered under warranty. But because of them, I will give The Volvo Store 2 stars instead of just 1. Volvo Store -- you're lucky to have these guys. You could learn a lot from them. Step up your game if you want to improve your reputation. read more

Terrible service! I'm ashamed of this place. From the moment I dropped off my car to the moment I drove off the lot, it was a horrifying experience. The lead mechanic knew nothing about my car ('89 240), or he didn't care to show it. They failed to fix anything that was within their power, and the estimates they gave me for the other tasks were so high I nearly fainted. (To be expected, but they offered no consoling alternatives for repair.) They wanted to charge me $800 to replace a mass airflow sensor. I can buy this part on eBay for $100 and replace it myself in 30 min.! Why would I spend $2000 on a car worth $800? My car makes a rattling sound. They couldn't locate it. My car has no brake lights. They couldn't figure out why. No mention of the brake light switch, a relay or anything... On top of this, they left my car trashed with discarded fuses, paper and they failed to reassemble the panels they took off to check under the dash. Fuck you Volvo Store. read more
