Super cozy venue. Great service. Fun fall/winter menu. Food was good. Lots of locations in the metro, all worth visiting.
The Vig at McCormick earned three stars. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I'm not in a hurry to return and I wouldn't recommend to a friend. Here's the rundown. Love - warm chips with guacamole as an appetizer Meh - sautéed shrimp tacos. The habanero sauce was overpowering. I would've preferred to taste the marinated coleslaw and fresh cilantro. Definitely would not order again. Love - the seasoned black beans that accompanied the tacos was AH-MAZING! Best I've ever tasted. Good service. Nice outdoor patio. Casual ambiance.
Honestly Taylor, her manager, and the chef completely made this experience for me! I initially ordered a side of mac and cheese and the ahi poke entree. I probably did not read the ingredients list well enough. It said it had pickled onions and I didn't pay attention to the rice. The onions were actually more caramelized and very heavy in what seemed to be a ginger flavor that I did not enjoy. The rice was brown rice and I didn't care for that. There were too many textures competing with one another in this dish and the profile was overall too sweet for what I had expected with an Asian inspired dish. I would have loved more soy or ponzu flavors. Fortunately the bartender Taylor was so sweet and exceptional at noticing that I was picking at things and not entirely satisfied. She had the foresight to put the sauce on the side when I asked her about the onions and flavors so it was salvageable. I'm so glad she did because I did not care for the sauce that came with the dish either. It had a smoky aftertaste that I was not expecting. I used my soys sauce and asked if it was possible to get white rice instead of brown rice. Initially she and her manager said they didn't have brown rice but then they thought outside of the box and mentioned the rice they've added vinegar to that they use for their tuna dish. I asked if I could get a little bit of that as I enjoy sushi rice. They brought it for me but initially it was cold. Taylir went above and beyond and offered to heat it up even though I told her it was okay and that I would just go without the rice. Once she brought it back warmed by the chef it was perfect. She even told me that her Chef went out of his way to pamper the rice so it would be perfectly warm and soft for me without burning the bowl. What an incredible example of going above and beyond without even being asked. I had also asked if they would provide me a little bit of truffle oil so that I could make my own concoction of sauce. They were kind enough to do that so I mixed truffle oil, lime juice, and soy sauce and made an exceptional dipping sauce myself that I ended up loving. The fact that this team allowed me to play with ingredients so that I could enjoy the dish by my own preferences was really wonderful. I so appreciate their "yes, let's see" attitude turned what would have been an overall disappointing meal into to be memorable and delicious experience. I would definitely go back for the service alone! I would even reorder this dish now that I know how to doctor it! The mac and cheese by the way was the best I've ever had, perfectly oozy and delicious.
Have not been to The Vig in a while. We'll have to put this restaurant on our list of places to return. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice. Our seat last night was indoors, but the windows were open so you felt like you were outdoors. Our party of four all enjoyed our various meals. I had the chopped chicken salad. I usually get the dressing on the side, but forgot to ask for that this time. It did not matter as they put just the right amount on. It was a very generous portion of chicken and the salad was large enough to make two meals. The service was great.
What a great spot for a mid-day afternoon bite and cocktail! Tito's only $6 for summer and happy hour starts at 3:00 with great food options and other drink specials. My coug cup was refreshing and delicious and chicken tinga tacos wonderful! Ambiance is great with low lighting and high booths offering nice private conversations. The bar area is great too! Our server Christine was super friendly and attentive too! Highly recommend The Vig for a girl-time, date night, or sports viewing... cool vibe for all!
This place never misses! Although this was my first time eating at this Vig location, the level of service, the atmosphere of the establishments, and the quality of the food seems to always be consistent, regardless of the location. On my most recent visit, I tried their Hot Honey Chicken sandwich, and WOW was it good! The piece of chicken on the sandwich was huge and the vinegar coleslaw on the sandwich really helps make it unique. A clean restaurant, friendly and attentive staff, and consistent food quality... Definitely an establishment I'd recommend!
Amazing happy hour and summer deals! I love the adult happy meal and girl dinner. They have a cute patio with misters and plenty of comfy booth seating inside.

We stumbled upon The Vig while looking for a happy hour spot with a good vibe. It was empty when we arrived but filled up quickly, which says a lot. The open-air setup is great, with a large bar and TVs, a beautiful outdoor area, and solid service. We enjoyed chatting with the GM and would definitely come back for the atmosphere and good conversation alone. Food-wise, it was hit or miss: * The hummus crudité was good but nothing standout; appreciated the generous portion of veggies. * Nachos were good, especially the crema * Pretzel was good, served warm, not too salty * The grilled chicken chopped salad was much smaller than expected. Despite $20 price point, it felt more like a side portion. * The Vig burger was overcooked and on the smaller side--nothing memorable. Drinks were excellent. Overall, it's a great spot for drinks, vibes, and socializing. We'd return for the atmosphere, but the food didn't quite live up to the setting.
I really wanted to love this place but it was just okay. A friend and I came for their happy hour on a Wednesday night. We grabbed an outdoor patio table to take advantage of the nice weather. The menu options looked good & great pricing on the drinks. I had to try the adult happy meal which came with a martini, fries and a Caesar salad. The food was decent but nothing too outstanding. The most meh aspect for me was our server. I feel like once we got our food we never saw her again. I would've loved to stay and enjoy another drink. Eventually we had to flag her down just to get our bill. Sigh, but maybe I'll try another location for a better experience.
Sunday brunch with football games on = perfect morning!!! We sat outside and I was able to watch the games while eating yummy food and having great conversations! I ordered the avocado toast w/o tomatoes and it was DELICIOUS! I generally don't eat the entire dish like this, but had to! It was so dang good!!
We came here for a late breakfast on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised! There was about a 15 min wait, but it was totally worth it. Everything was DELICIOUS! All of us were totally satisfied!
Love the McCormick Vig location. A warmer, more intimate space. Much love for the fish tacos, at this Vig location specifically. They seem to have better flavor and spice to them. Also, the side of black beans is a delish puree (and easier on my gut). Bartender Nikole has been cheerful and professional on our repeat visits, making it a great happy hour location!

This place always seems to be hit or miss, and this time was no exception. Unfortunately, it was definitely a MISS! The menu changes seasonally, and I'm not sure if that contributes to the inconsistency, but I wasn't particularly impressed with the current offerings. There were very few things on the menu that appealed to me, so I settled on the Mac and Cheese. Sadly, it was a disappointment, with overcooked pasta and some sort of overpowering spice sprinkled on top that completely missed the mark. The only thing that seems to remain consistent is yet another dry chicken sandwich. At this point, I'm beginning to wonder if the kitchen has something against a little moisture! Maybe this place just isn't my cup of tea anymore. I absolutely love the vibe and atmosphere, but lately, the food has been falling short. It's a shame when a place has so much going for it, yet the dining experience leaves you wishing the food lived up to the ambiance. read more
First time brunchers at the Vig! We were daring and sat outside in 100 degree weather but misters helped. They could use more though, tbh. Just about half of their patio space is usable when it's 100 degrees and the rest just bakes in the sun. They have one of the best patios around so that's what keeps us coming back. It's local, it's tucked in the corner and the brunch was good. We shared a pretzel and cinnamon roll for the table (6 people) as appetizers and each got an entree. Both were just okay. Roll was dry but frosting good and the pretzel is just okay always but easy to share. Turkey club, burger, chicken enchiladas, kids Mac n cheese, strawberry pancakes (the best!!!), and hot honey chicken sandwich. Was about $130 for us all, no alcohol. read more

Came to the Vig for brunch on a Saturday around 11. Had to hunt down a worker to place my to go order. I ordered a chorizo burrito. The burrito tasted a little underwhelming. The inside looked mushy and in my opinion, didn't have great flavour. A side salad was kind of dumped on top of the burrito. I always considered the Vig more of a dinner spot, if I come back it would probably be for dinner. read more

Great spot for happy hour! Amazing deals on drinks. I also love their Mediterranean salad with crispy chickpeas (ask for extra chickpeas). The service is always great and the inside is very cool in the summer with the AC blasting. Their house wines aren't my favorite (particularly the rose), but they are affordable! read more

I ordered food for the whole office and was really disappointed. I got a Reuben, but it didn't have any sauerkraut. They did issue a refund, but I'm not coming back. I don't get why the manager suggested I order extra when I'm already paying $22 for a pastrami Reuben. I'm not spending more money for something I should've gotten in the first place. If anything, I'll just take my business elsewhere. A little more attention to detail would go a long way. Overpriced and mediocre. Don't suggest this place to anyone. read more

Stopped in for an impromptu lunch. Cozy place with nice patio. Attentive server was doubling behind the bar, but still gave excellent recommendations and overall service. Sampled the Blackberry Smash cocktail x 2, and then the salmon entree and the Vig Burger with sweet potato fries. Some nice desserts also, but I was full! Def coming back to sample more entree items and dessert! read more

Visited on my Mother's Day staycation to Omni, was a 10 minute ride from hotel. Perfect quaint little restaurant. Felt very homey and had a good vibe for a nice dinner. I choose a delicious chipotle pasta; while my friend chose a salmon dish. Both delicious. Drinks were on par!! read more
We came in for a Sunday brunch, the vibes are nice inside and it's very cozy and casual. We had a few things and everything was really good. The location is a bit hidden but it offers a nice setting. I had the burger and it was 10/10 really good burger for the Vig. I appreciated the freshness. We also had the burrito and that was very good too. I was impressed by the food. Had Sunday brunch here around 12:30. We sat at the bar. The bloody marys here are perfect for brunch! Tasted spicy and not watered down like other places. It had good flavor. I had 2 of them. He went with a Guinness beer x3. We had a lot of drinks the night prior so didn't want to overdo it that day. I ordered a turkey sausage breakfast sandwich. That was really good. The habanero salsa it came with was delicious! The potatoes it came with were a tad salty but not bad. He didn't feel like eating so he skipped food. Service was great. Bartender was nice, quick and attentive. I think I would prefer this location over the other location I've been to. read more

Unfortunately it wasn't a good experience. The restaurant wasn't busy at all yet the service was far from just decent. Everything took for ever to get. Never checked on the table and it was a large group. When the sun started hitting our table too much and because the patio was basically empty we asked to move to the shaded area and the server that was bringing the food out rolled her eyes at us. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with their service. Food was ok. The pork on the chilaquiles was great but the chips were dry the best dish was the enchiladas three of our group ordered and all loved. read more
Some friends were in town from Iowa for the Phoenix Open, so I decided to check out The Vig. First off, the espresso martinis were killer--so good that I immediately started singing in my head, "Say you can't sleep, baby, I know that's that me espresso!" Of course, I kept it to myself because randomly belting it out might've been a bit much. But hey, if I were three deep, who knows--I just might have! I went with the fish and chips based on a friend's recommendation, and they did not disappoint--super fresh and seriously delicious. The service was also fantastic--some of the fastest I've ever had, to be honest. And now, I'll definitely be back next week because Wednesdays mean $6 espresso martinis... um, score! read more
