Staff is great, food is even better. Only thing that beats both is the view itself. Pot Roast is the best in the area

So this place is a dive. And parking is awful. And inside is stuffy and dank…read more BUT ... If one of your favorite bands of all time plays here, DEFINITELY. GO. Because Evening Star is a tiny concert venue, so even if you are all the way in the back of general admission, you will likely be closer to the stage than typical. And tickets will likely be way more affordable than other venues, too. (Plus cheap concessions--water was a mere $2 a bottle, unlike the typical $6+ most concert places gouge you for these days.) This was recently the case for me. I was soooooo lucky to see O-Town at Evening Star ... AND IT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE!! Or, ahem ahem, a LIQUID DREAM come true!! ;-) I purchased pit pass tickets, WHICH WERE PHENOMENAL!! I was one-body-deep from the stage, and O-Town was right there--LIKE RIGHT THERE!! I had the perfect view, and SO MUCH EYE CONTACT with the guys, so many longing reaches, my heart exploded no less than a million times. After the show, O-Town had a selfie meet-and-greet option, and I definitely invested in that!! I saw them in 2001 and 2002, and have adored their music ever since. (Like adore-adored, I can belt out both the hits and the deep cuts off of their original album word-for-word, haha.) With the lights on for the meet-and-greet, you could clearly see Evening Star is indeed pretty rundown. But WHO CARES when you can be SO 'EFFIN CLOSE to your faves!! The sound quality of the concert was great, the stage was close and elevated enough where even the back of the house surely had a great view, and the party was POPPIN' with my favorite boys of Pop!! If you don't know O-Town, you are boy-band-MISSING-OUT!! (Immediately YouTube their more recent single, "Off"--damn, they still got it!!) But even if boy bands aren't your thing, whatever is musically your flavor, if they come to Evening Star, GO. You will likely be closer to them than ever before and have the time of your life with your favorite musicians. I'M STILL LOSING IT THAT I WAS SO CLOSE TO O-TOWN!! LIKE I LEGIT GOT HUGS!! FROM ALL OF THEM!! Because I WANT IT ALL!! OR NOTHING AT ALL!! (See what I did there, haha.) So get in there at Evening Star, and get all your hugs from your faves too!!

Went in here last week to see Puddle of Mudd. They didn't come on until 11:30pm, which was just…read morecrazy given that it was a work night. The place is a good size, it looks a lot smaller from the outside. The prices of the drinks were reasonable, and bottles of water were only 2 bucks. There was lots of room to see the opening bands and Puddle of Mudd quite close. The audio though wasn't the greatest, I've heard better. I stood by the side near the windows and nobody from the bar ever came to clean things up, with lots of beer bottles and cups piling up. The music ended around 1:30am which was far too late.

The price was a bit more than I thought it was worth for the breakfast platter and shrimp & rice (not quite Hawaiian fried but good). Except for the lobster Mac & cheese. Real huge lobster chunks- large portion. Mom was happy so that's what mattered! Loud, family friendly location. Lots of seating.

Also other nights when they have an in house magician perform at the tables especially ones with kids - it's really great and added a unique twist to the experience. The service staff and everyone in general seems to do a good job, although there is a lot going on at any time in this place. It's large like a brewery would be, with the vats in the back, with a garage feel and outdoor tables which is nice, and seems to be self serve which is a nice alternative to waiting for a table. There is a back patio with full service and lots of other areas within the restaurant to suit any size party. The reason I give it 3 stars is the food has been somewhat disappointing lately. Nothing earth shattering but to someone who is a long time customer, you start to notice the subtle changes likely brought on by the higher cost of the food no doubt. But they keep innovating, we lost the half price, dozen claims, but gained $4 tacos during the week, including a beef and chicken that are not usually on the menu. It's still a popular place and conveniently located just across the border in Niagara County on Transit Road. Lots of parking, I would recommend it to someone who is unfamiliar with the area and wants something not known for pizza or wings. And can bring the kids too.

Their holiday mimosa flights can be hit or miss relative to marketing, but the food is always solid. No more Cali bennies though. Sad.

After three wineries, my husband was definitely ready for some food. When you walk in, you definitely feel like you're entering an English pub! The bar, and place, ent of the bar was very traditional to pubs in the UK. Our server Lawerence definitely helped with his English accent! When asked where he was from, he said Bristol! He came to Canada after her sister relocated. He originally was a cook, but given his accent, they asked hi. To move to the front! Well done. He was a great server too! Very friendly! We decided to share the sausage rolls and shepherds pie. My husband had two Guinness! I'm not sure where he put it in top of the wine, but glad I was driving. The sausage rolls were very tasty. The mustard that came for dipping was the perfect accompaniment. The shepherd's pie had a dark Guinness gravy that was rich and flavorful. I enjoyed the side of peas and carrots too! Sharing these two was the perfect amount, however we wished we'd got the poutine! It looked amazing, it would've been too much food though. Guess we will need to return! PS: loved seeing the sign for Upper Canada Brewing company! In 1988, I visited them with my college partner as we did a college paper on microbrewers! At that time, they were one of a few. We also had visited Great Lakes brewing in CLE! The microbrewing industry exploded shortly there after! Was a great personal walk down memory lane for my college days!! While Upper Canada was sold, was just excellent to see an old sign!
