I can't say enough good things about Vernon Barbershop. Our barber Jesus is the only person I've ever trusted to cut my son Lorenzo's hair, and he never disappoints. The customer service is outstanding, the shop is always clean and immaculate, and the atmosphere is welcoming from the moment you walk in. What really stands out is that everyone in the shop knows us and makes us feel like family. The professionalism, attention to detail, and quality of every haircut keep us coming back. If you're looking for a great place to get your hair cut, Vernon Barbershop is the place to go. Highly recommend Mr. Jesus will keep you fresh!! -Baby Lorenzo read more

Walked in earlier and not one person greeted me, granted, everyone was busy cutting hair except one gal. 15 minutes passed and I still was not attended. Such a shame since my cousin comes here and it's highly rated. read more

Tonight we took our two-year-old in for his third haircut at The Varón Co. Barber Shops. He's definitely not a fan of haircuts and gets especially upset with the buzzers. We had the pleasure of having Jon cut his hair, and he was incredibly patient and understanding the entire time. The first half of the haircut went really well, and even when our son got upset during the second half, Jon stayed calm, kind, and worked with us to get through it. We truly appreciate his patience and the care he showed. Thank you, Jon, for making a tough haircut a much easier experience at The Varón Co. Barber Shops! read more

clean shop with great atmosphere and my boy Jon is the go to for a fresh fade always has good convos and makes you feel welcome from the start, i get me and my son a cut and the prices are not outrageous like most places! Jon takes his time and has a lot of patience for cutting toddlers and doesn't half ass the cut and try to get you out of the chair for a quick flip, so I highly recommend him if you or your child needs a clean cut. read more

Got my first cut here with Jaime last night. The man knew exactly how to understand what I needed, paying close attention to the details I gave him and being proactive with his advice. The experience was super chill, very professional, and even though I'd walked in without an appointment, they were very accommodating. I'm sitting here the next day having gotten tons of compliments from my coworkers on the cut, and that was all I needed to know that this would be my new regular place. Thanks, Jaime! read more

Recommend coming to get your haircut with Gabe, he got me looking fresh and right. Definitely will be back

Watch out, great haircuts ahead! I have been looking for a legit barbershop in the area for about three months now. Came across some reviews about Varón and figured give 'em a try. Walked in and the vibe was really of an old skool barber that reminded me of my favorite in LA. Mary did an excellent zero high fade. Out of all the places I have been, Varón will be my go to place. read more

Great costumer service. Everyone is very friendly. Stain made my experience very memorable and will definitely be returning for any haircuts in the future read more

Although the haircut was ok the prices listed will scare you My biggest complaint was the loud and gangster rap. No need for that. Several barbers in the chairs on their phones. Not a good look. The big couch smelled like ass read more

In my multitude of visits to Arizona over the past year, I always had to stop by here to get a haircut by Jose since the service was efficient and it was much cheaper than rates in San Francisco. Making a reservation is super easy, and usually you can find tons of appointments if you book at least a couple of days in advance. The shop itself has loads of barbers so I'm sure you'll find someone who'll cut it perfect to your liking. read more

1st first customer. Quality is average, have had better fades elsewhere. Barber gets shown an old pic of myself and proceeded with his own vision i/o my requests & inputs. Customer service is shit, barber talks on the phone while fading, walks away and leaves you at the chair in the middle of the cut, opens a delivered package by the door, then gets back into grabbing your head, no communication on the progress. If you don't care about these things, get your fade elsewhere since rate isn't the cheapest. read more

I went there for the first time a few weeks ago, and it was perfect! I showed up looking scruffy and scraggly and left looking refreshed and rejuvenated. I was pleased with my hair, my fade, and beard trim. Professional staff, clean shop, and reasonably priced. I will come back again! For Sure! read more

Javi has been my Barber for years, he is very very good at what he does. Really cares about his craft. So happy to go to his own brand new spot, "Varon Co". It's a sharp-looking place with skilled barbers who take good care of you. I get a high & tight, and it is perfect every time. A flawless fade. You really should give this place a try. East side location, very easy to get to, near the 202 & the 60. It's always good to support an ambitious hard worker who goes in business on his own. Please go support Javi and his business partner on this new spot that I know you'll like. 5 big stars!! Espanol y English read more

New to AZ and was looking for a good barber on yelp and Google and came across Varón. So I checked out their website and it's the best website I've even seen for a Barnard shop. You can hand pick your barber and pick a time they have available. I choose the the owner, Jose, and I must say I won't be going anywhere else for a cut. I've had a combover cut for the past few years and was looking for something new and Jose knew exactly what needed to be done to my hair to get exactly what I was looking for. Very pleased with my cut! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! read more

Terrible location. This is not a Barbershop, this is a Salon. I've been having my hair cut for a year with my family and even the barbers you are regulars with do not know who you are. I have had a dozen instances of them being behind but if you come 4 minutes late expect to have your appointment cancelled. Also the receptionist will suggest she texted and emailed which is just a bold face lie. Not a personal feel. This couldn't be farther from a barbershop vibe. Terrible customer service and a terrible attitude from receptionist. Do yourself a favor and find a real barbershop before you waste your time at this commercial salon. I've been a regular of Mary for a while and have always tipped well. She cancelled my appointment after 4 minutes despite me regularly waiting upwards of 10 minutes for her to finish her previous appointments. no call or anything. read more

Discovered this place yesterday, thought I found my new barber shop. Asked for a low fade with a number 3... got a flat top looking cut with no fade - number 2 the whole thing. Didn't ask where I liked my sideburns, they just decided I didn't need them and shaved them off. Worst haircut of my life and I leave on vacation Friday. Thanks. [edit] good news is; 2 weeks later and I still don't need a haircut. read more

Not the closest shop and im not picky so I normally don't make the trek to varon. Went once or twice right after they opened to help support Javier at the new shop. My son wanted a nice fade so we made the trek where I knew the barbers where on point. But they surpassed my expectations, I feel like most shops just try to get you in and out of the seat. Quantity over quality. But I didn't see a single barber in this shop do that, there was no rushing, it was all about the craft. Hope this shop keeps killin it read more

I have been going to Varón for about six months now and really like it. First and foremost, you need to schedule your appointment online. They do take walk-ins but its much smoother to schedule with your phone. The shop is clean and spacious. There is ample parking. If you come around lunch time, keep in mind that there are about four places to eat in the same little strip mall. It can get busy and people drive like idiots in this little lot. They are fairly hip and play rap, so you rednecks might have to wear earbuds if you come here. I have had several barbers cut my hair but Reuben really stood out. The price is around $23 for a basic cut. read more

The best haircut I have ever gotten. The place is super clean and the staff are very friendly. I got a skin fade and they use the classic razor perfectly for a nice blend. On top of the great haircut they put a hot towel on you head for about 3 minutes while they massage your shoulders!! If you like being treated like a king I suggest going here. Haircuts are $22 and worth every penny!!! read more

After living in Mesa for over a year, I've struggled to find a barbershop that had an ambiance that was friendly, community feeling, and accessible. I found this with Varón. My experience has been incredible each time. I trust my barber (Jose) to make good recommendations, take his time, cut my hair/beard precisely each time all the while keeping me and others engaged. I do appreciate the appointment app they make available and honor the appointments that are set. The barbershop is located close to the freeway and there's plenty of parking. Varón is reasonably priced for the services the offer. You can pay cash and they accept most major credit cards. I genuinely enjoy spending my money and time with this locally owned barbershop. read more

I came into town for a wedding and decided to get a haircut so I looked up some places. Varón had really good reviews so I decided to give it a go. This is the only review I have ever given, I honestly hate yelp for all the bad stuff you see on here, but Juan did such an amazing job that I felt like I had to shout it from the mountains tops. Easily the best haircut/beard trim I've ever had and it was super relaxing. I've been to a couple of nice barbershops in Denver (if that even matters) and they don't come close. Juan took his time and paid such close to attention to all the little details and he was also really nice and sociable. I felt like I got a $100 haircut for $50. I am seriously blown away. If I could give 6 stars I would. read more

Professional, efficient, and friendly. Not only was the entire staff friendly from the person that answered the phone and scheduled my cut, but the entire staff once I arrived were all incredibly attentive and professional. Shop was beautiful. However, my barber Lucy really went above and beyond. I just kept saying do whatever she thought and when she was done I can honestly say I have never been happier. No less than ten times that afternoon I was told by different people how nice my cut looked. Thank you Lucy and thank you staff at The Varón Co Barber Shops. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this spot!! I'm in town from California and my son and I needed a last minute haircut. Couldn't be happier with the experience. Friendly staff! Dope ambiance! 630 appointment with Josh. Evidently not, cause it's 645 and my hair is just as long as it was at 615. Nice guy. Bad timekeeper. Walked out at 640. I understand things get busy, but you've got to respect people's time. If I was a bachelor with no where to go, waiting around for an extra five or 10 minutes wouldn't be that big of a deal. But I'm a working dad. I expect if I set an appointment for 630, that my appointment is at 6:30. read more
