Modern Man Studio is the ideal place to get a haircut--at least if you're me. The atmosphere and vibes are super chill. They have drinks--all kinds--for adults and kids: coffee, soda, water, all readily available at no charge. Every stylist is friendly and skilled. Personally, I go to Danda because I think she does a fantastic job, and I'm always happy with the end result--for both my hair and my beard. It's a great experience all around. My son and I have been using this studio for years, and it's a great place to see the difference between whatever you get at Fantastic Sam's versus what an actual hair studio can be when it comes to getting a hair and beard trim, especially as a male. I didn't realize the difference before, but now I do, and I'd never have it any other way. Also, hot towels. I love hot towels. They have hot towels--and yes, a lot of places have them--but the way Modern Man uses them makes the experience that much better. And unlike some other male-oriented salons, they don't do the awkward neck massage with a little vibrating massager that's supposed to make a difference. It doesn't. The only difference it makes is increasing the chance I'll never return to that place. Modern Man has the formula down. Every visit I leave happy and I'm confident you'll feel the same way--especially if you use Danda (but all the stylists I've had are great!)...but don't book her up too quickly, or I won't be able to get an appointment. I followed my barber Ragan Brown to Modern Man Studio from a previous position she worked. There's a reason why...quality, quality and quality. It's a good feeling when she knows what you want without me even saying a word. I will say this though, she is always booked so definitely book in advance!! There is a good reason why she is. If I make a mistake and can't get Ragan, every barber I've seen there has been great, not one bad cut and worth the price. Beautiful spot and everyone is so friendly, I won't go anywhere else. Finally found a place that does quality men's haircuts. My husband and both our sons see Danda. My son has seen one other person who was also good. Danda is so good at what she does, she really listens and takes her time. A true hair artist. My husbands hair has so many challenges, she has really taken the time to understand his hair challenges and find solutions. Highly recommend Modern Man Hair Studio. I called ahead to ask for availability for a walk-in and Jen answered that she can fit me in for a walk-in. Otherwise, their website allowed you to book an appointment. I drove over and parking was not an issue here. The interior looked good and music was playing. Jen was my hair stylist and I told her how I wanted my hair cut. She was really nice, friendly, and easy to talk to. She even explained a few things when cutting my hair and what she was doing. She is super friendly and does amazing job cutting your hair. She has some real talent when it come to crafting a look and having you walk out with a style that you are going to like. It had been a struggle finding someone that could cut my son's hair with all his cowlicks and whatnot. Poor kid has had some rough haircuts at other places. First off the charm of this place is just so frickin adorable! Jen was the one that cut my son's hair, my son LOVED her! She chatted with him the whole time and made him feel special. His haircut came out amazing! She seriously did such a good job, I'm so relieved to have found her. After the amazing haircut the receptionist made him the coolest, cutest, Italian soda! I had never been to a "real barber" before last week. Sure, I'd gotten my hair cut countless times, but last week I decided to give Modern Man a try, and get a shave, beard trim, and haircut. I was serviced by Raven, a stylish young man into electronic music. I got to know him a bit as he worked me over in the chair. Haircut first, looks excellent. Beard trim, check, definitely shaped and cleaned up. Last step, shave. A hot face towel applied while reclined back in a top-of-the-line barber chair might be my new favorite thing. Raven was slow and meticulous as he scraped the stubble from my cheeks and neck. Goatee reshaped. I got just the tiniest bit of neck razor rash, but that's super common for me. Certainly not worse than anything I've done to myself. But I have to say, the shave I got was easily the closest, smoothest shave I've ever had. See you soon, Raven. read more
