In my ongoing quest to find the best Uber Eats B1G1 deals, Urban Grill was a definite food win. I ordered the tandoori murgh (chicken) , and it was amazing. Smoky, beautifully charred, juicy, and packed with flavor. And with the B1G1, I ended up with two plates of grilled tandoori chicken. Absolute steal. The pickup, however, was a bit of an adventure. I spent almost 15 minutes trying to figure out whether I could actually collect my order, while communicating with someone handling the front desk who apparently wasn't even at the restaurant. A slightly surreal start to my food pickup. Thankfully, the food made up for it. The tandoori chicken tangdi was fantastic: smoky, beautifully charred, juicy and seriously flavorful. I'd absolutely order the tangdi again. Just hoping next time the journey from counter to customer is a little shorter and less stressful. ;-) read more

Went today 9/25/26 with my parents at 6:02 pm but the restaurant actually has dinner food ready at 6:30 pm. We waited and did not mind as we chatted. Finished around 7:26. As a family of Chinese Americans who have never touched many Indian dishes and pretty much only knowing chicken tikka masala, this restaurant offers a handful selection of what Indian culture has to offer. We were there for the dinner AYCE buffet which costed $24.99 per person. Dishes include: Pani puri, salad, fruit, dahi bhalla papri chaat, raita + chutneys, hara bhara kebab, aloo bhaji, saag, aloo tikki, chana masala, daal makhni, paneer makini, bhindi, biryani (6 kinds), white rice, chilli chicken, tandoori chicken, chicken coconut, methi chicken, chicken tikka masala, kadai chicken, goat curry, fish tikka masala, gulab jamun, rasgulla, and carrot halwa. Chai tea in the corner. Shout out to Milena who was cheery and enthusiastic as well as Bobby for continuously switching food out and clearing tables. Milena was kind enough to show our family how to prepare a treat called Pani Puri. The snack consists of a hollow fried dough ball which is to be punched with a hole with a finger and filled with potatoes, chickpeas, and some kind of liquid. After biting it whole, it is similar to eating salsa with cilantro, it was fragrant and full of different textures. They also helped my family explore a few desserts such as gulab jamun, which was extremely sweet. Chai was also provided too, it was fragrant, not too sweet as well. I personally liked the chicken coconut, hara bhara kebab, and chicken tikka masala. I wish the dishes had some kind of indicator of how spicy the dish is with like a pepper icon or something. As someone not well versed in Indian cuisine, I am glad I picked the chicken dum biryani first and not the gongura paneer biryani because apparently that one is the most spicy rice dish. The bathroom is interesting, I do not believe I have seen two bathrooms that are apparently split between adults and kids. When you enter the area for the bathroom, the first room is a shared area to wash your hands with a large mirror. That room has 2 doors, one to the kids bathroom and adult bathroom. The adult bathroom has one toilet and one urinal. Overall, me and my family liked the experience as we were able to explore more of what Indian culture has to offer. We were excited to try the treat the Milena taught us to prepare and eat, the Pani Puri, as well as other desserts. APPS - Chicken Manchurian - Chicken 65 ENTREES - Andhra Chicken Curry - Gongura Goat Biryani - Garlic Naan The portions were surprisingly generous, and all the food was delicious. The spice level was well balanced; my mouth wasn't on fire, allowing me to enjoy every dish. We definitely had leftovers since we ordered quite a bit, but we wanted to have options and try a variety of items. My favs were the appetizers and the gongura goat biryani! The goat was tender and didn't have the gamey taste, which is a plus for me. The service was great! The waiter was very attentive and even helped me arrange the food items for photos. It seems they may have recently renovated the interior and possibly changed ownership, as they appear to be working on getting their name out there. There was a marketing coordinator present inside during our dine in. I truly enjoyed my first experience at Urban Grill and will definitely return to try more dishes. Came here with a friend and it was quite empty on a Saturday Night. We sat towards the wall in these booths that made it feel like we had our own little section/room. I really enjoyed it, perfect for conversations! We ordered goat curry, chicken biryani, and garlic naan. We really underestimated how much food it was going to be! Everything was really good, the biryani had a really nice kick and a layer of chicken underneath the rice. Goat curry was flavorful but not greasy, which was really nice. We went for the buffet and had an overall good experience, though it got off to a rough start. I had a reservation but arrived about 15 minutes late, which was completely my fault. I apologized, but one of the staff members called it out loudly in front of the other waiting customers, which felt a bit embarrassing. I believe the situation could have been handled more professionally and privately. Better staff training for situations like this would improve the customer experience. That said, the food itself was absolutely amazing. The buffet had a very large vegetarian selection with plenty of variety, and everything we tried was delicious. The service was a little slow initially when it came to bringing fresh bread (naan, etc.), refilling buffet items, and clearing soiled dishes from the table. However, it improved as the meal went on, and the staff was much better after the initial interaction. One other suggestion is regarding the dining hall temperature. We visited during the summer, and it felt quite warm inside. The door was kept open, but turning on the air conditioning would have made the dining experience much more comfortable. We got there right before 11:30 and only one other table taken - everything was already available and setup...so we had the whole place to ourselves practically so extremly convenient in this regard since we went early. It started to get pretty busy around 12:30-12:45, and by the time we left just before 1:30 all the tables were taken. Food was good - curries are spicy...I loved the Jaleebi...I've been to a few other indian buffets, but I don't recall having this before. I feel there is a pretty good variety and includes normal staples like Tandoori chicken and butter chicken. A woman came over to ask for our feedback on what we liked(I didn't catcher her name)...but she made what we thought really matter. Also, really liked the Naan that came...wanted to eat more but was so stuffed(came like 15minutes after we sat). I noticed that water was refilled quickly. It would be hard to describe each item because there were so many, but the butter chicken, chicken biryani, methi aloo were all super delish. Unlimited Chai was nice, but the desserts itself weren't life changing. Although I appreciated that they had a not too sweet sevaiya kheer because I swear if I have to look at one more uninspired rice kheer bowl at Indian restaurants. The dining space and buffet stations were clean and well organized. And staff was replenishing the food non stop. Their location and good food probably keeps them busy, and the kitchen and staff seem to keep up with the demand. The restrooms need to be cleaner, but they have two so there's a good chance you will find atleast one that's clean. Management is doing something right with this place. Whenever I'm in Sunnyvale, I always stop into this Nirvana of Biryani. You won't find another restaurant that features this many biryanis at one time, in the same buffet. We saw pretty good reviews and decided to try it out. This is actually a place for parties. Ie. They have 3 separate halls of different sizes which can be booked for wedding/reception/birthdays. Idea is - you can get the food from this place. The main area for restaurant is open and large - with the ability to rearrange in any shape and form as needed. That is very cool idea. So highly recommended for such get togethers. The restaurant itself serves food to those who come just for dinner. Came by for lunch 2/28 and checked the chicken. Guess what? IT WAS UNDERCOOKED - AGAIN. I can't even. Pointed it out the first time and was contacted by the owner due to this post. At this point, it's just incompetence to correct a very straightforward issue. I messaged the business about it being undercooked again and the owner wanted me to meet with his staff. I showed the piece as well as a second piece I picked up moments earlier with the same result. Nearly wordless, he takes my plate and I see him discussing things with two other people. We finished up and went to pay the check. The first time it happened, I paid full. The bill was charged for our party of 6 and this time, I just felt like as a business the owner had to have done something for this ridiculous issue - no, not a single accommodation for their screwup. I sarcastically referenced having been served undercooked chicken twice means nothing, but he doesn't understand what I meant. I message the same to the business and a message was relayed to discount our check 20%... but also had to pay a required 18% tip. Thank you sook much. Take my money. This is hands-down one of the best Indian buffets I've been to in the south bay, with the most reasonable price for lunch ($17 per person on weekdays). A delightful surprise was the Naan they served to each table was freshly made, crispy and garlicky. I've never liked naan as much as I liked the one in here. Other places usually serve it old, soft and stale. I sampled almost everything in hot items. My favorites were the various vegetable curries, samosa, curry goat, butter paneer and tandoori chicken. However, they used chicken breast in butter chicken which made it hard in texture, not tender. I've had this item better elsewhere. The curry sauces on top of my selected salad was a unique gastronomic experience. My taste buds were happily enruptured! Four types biryani rice. I took a bit of paneer biryani to try. It was flavorful and lightly aromatic. Three types of desserts. Carrot Halwa, Gulab Jamun, and Mango Lassi, served by disposable paper bowls and cups. Gulab Jamun (Indian milk donut), my fav., was divine! Mango Lassi tasted yummy with pieces of coconuts(?) mixing in, it was different than the usual one I've had and I loved it. Carrot Halwa was too sweet but served its purpose to offset the spiciness and complete a meal with sweet note. Very friendly, attentive, and helpful service. Asked for refill of Lassi on buffet table, staff had it ready fast. Owner expressed gratitude at counter. Spacious, modern, clean and bright. Comfortable and peaceful vibe. Motley interior elements from huge screen panels broadcasting sport events to soft elegant chiffon ceiling draping for celebratory events, along with a well stocked and decorated bar, ooze subtle exuberance. Really disappointed with this visit. The food quality and taste have gone way down since the last time I was here. None of the non-veg curries or biryanis tasted good, and the Chicken 65 didn't even taste like Chicken 65--it wasn't fried properly and felt undercooked and applied color. Plus, it was the only non-veg appetizer on the buffet. The only things I actually enjoyed were the naan and the tea. Everything else was a letdown, especially with the price being higher now.
