My adult son is missing and I ordered 200 flyers from the UPS store in Yelm. The staff worked with me to make a jpeg work. Then my husband went to pick the flyers up - and they wouldn't accept payment. This amazing kindness just floored us both. We are so grateful. All our business goes to this store from now on. UPS does not honor the coupons they advertise under "Get Offers," even when clearly listed for their location. Very misleading and unprofessional. Their mailbox pricing is also much higher than the post office. A small UPS mailbox costs about $240 per year plus registration and key fees, while USPS offers the same size for around $180 per year with no additional fees. While UPS markets their mailboxes as a "real street address," in reality it's just the store's regular address with a suite number -- government agencies and businesses still treat it as a PO Box. Overall, USPS offers lower cost, fewer fees, and more reliable recognition. I would not recommend doing business here. read more

My out-of-state pharmacy ships my costly medical pharmaceutical ( in a next day air perishable carton) to this Yelm UPS location. Because it needs refrigeratoration, I pick it up the day after it ships. Today, I went to pick up and it wasn't there. Upon returning home and calling my Pharmacy and UPS for tracking, I was told the package WAS signed for by an employee. After driving back to UPS and informing the 3 employees there that it was signed for today, they still couldn't find it. They had to call another off site employee for instructions on what to do. This person advised them to ask the UPS truck driver to research the truck when he returns for the evening pick up....I had to wait an hour. The UPS driver subsequently FOUND the package at the store where it had been all along! What a waste of my time, from 3pm-6pm because3 employees couldn't find a very distinctive package in a 100 sq. ft.space behind the counter. The only valuable employee there is the young man ( I can't remember his name) who had to be called for instructions, everyone else couldn't even find a package. This is shameful and the owner of this place needs to better train its personnel on how to create a protocol for priority packages. read more

All there good reviews were like 5 years ago. Not sure when this store changed hands but this location SUCKS ! They're supposed to take Amazon back without being packaged. They won't take it if it's not packaged.. going against their agreement with Amazon.. They move slow as snot... On October 2, I went into UPS to send a fax. The employee did not read the number right & faxed it to God knows where. I did not notice the number was typed wrong at the time. I have been faxing at UPS for years. Never had a problem. But when yesterday came & my pay had not hit my bank. I checked as I forgot when I faxed it. That is when I realized it had gone to the wrong #. I took my receipt & went to UPS, only to have the blame placed on me by the ditzy employee. I went to the supervisor via the website. All I got was a manager who stood up for the said ditzy employee. I told him I was getting a lawyer & he just hung up the phone. This mistake cost me a $700.00 paycheck. Consequently, I lost my car insurance & am now having to seek new. I feel I should be compensated for the ditzy employee's mistake. I worked in customer service job for years. If ever I was in doubt, I checked, not presumed. I will not be going to this UPS interview future. read more

I went to the UPS store to return some items from Amazon. Since Amazon doesn't allow you to print a label any longer I had to take to an actual store and the closest was the Yelm store. I had 2 separate orders which needed 2 bags. The first one they put in a plastic clear bad and put the label on it. Good to go. They said I had to purchase a bag for the second one. I asked why and they said it was because one was ground and one was air. I explained to him that UPS has always given us free bags to send orders. They kept telling me that is not true and he told me to look at my directions and it will say that I have to supply the bag. So I went home after paying $2.19 for a bag, and looked at my directions and it stated that all I had to do is take it to any location, show them the bar code and THEY would bag it and ship it!!. My wife took a USPS Priority Mail flat rate small box package here to ship via USPS Priority Mail. She was told they they had insufficient funds in their account with the USPS (even though my wife was paying for the shipping ?!) and it had to go UPS (for more money). There is a reason I refuse to ship with UPS; they destroy packages and have lost a few of mine over the years, not to mention they're significantly more expensive. Regardless, I called and talked to Britney to make sure what my wife was saying was as ridiculous as it sounded, and Britney confirmed that they this business has insufficient funds in their account with USPS and USPS won't do business with them until their account is settled as a result. Just run far away from this fly by night operation. My wife had to send a return back that had a UPS return slip anyway, otherwise she'd have taken it to the post office, saving a trip. Instead, my shipment is in the hands of the package slayers, not the service I had specified because this business is apparently having financial difficulties? Wow. read more

Called the store to check on an unfamiliar return policy Amazon has. They answered all of my concerns as well as double checking on their closing time, since I had a long drive to their store. When I arrived with my returns, they were efficient in processing my returns and explaining the tracking process. read more

I never thought a UPS store could be 10 times worse than the Post Office, we have had missing pkgs several times in 2-3 mos. We get an amazon notice on a Monday our pkg is there..... we drive 30 mins one way, FOR 4 DAYS NO PKG, it was there the counter person said they were "TOO Busy "to sort pkgs. from Amazon. They dont answer the phone, our mail is lost, once again we went in today "NO PKG. "Amazon confirmed delivery at 1:00 PM They are lazy, and over worked and have a terrible attitude, the place is depressing to go in. The turnover is every single mo. My husband's father passed away and he wanted to ship precious items of his father's for his funeral, which did not arrive on time. The package arrived a day later than guaranteed by one day shipping which we paid extra for. When we contacted the store several times they where highly unprofessional and stated to bad we do not guarantee delivery times, even though the employee at the store reassured us it would be delivered on time. I am sad to see such an uncompassionate group of people running this store, I will never ship with this store again, because they do not value their customers. read more

I had one of the most displeasing customer experience with the store in Yelm. The service was careless, the attitude arrogant. I bought a shipping box and I was given one that had already been used, refolded, with the tape still on it and they argued with me at my request to have a new one. I had to justify myself for wanting a brand new one. Consider that the price for a small box in this UPS store is 8 times higher than the price of the same box at Walmart (and the service 8 times worse.) Every other time I ask for some type of service, it felt like I was pulling a tooth out of them. Terrible customer experience! I will never use this store again. read more

I have had the same awful experience at this store several times. I decided to give the store a try and ship UPS. The cost was way more than what I was expecting so I asked how much USPS (US Postal System) would cost. The person calculated and gave me a higher price to ship via USPS. I thought about it, said no thanks and went to the Post office directly with the SAME package. It was what I thought the price should be and substantially less than this store tried to charge me. Never again! BUT wait...there's more! I had two items to return to senders - one via UPS and one via USPS. Knowing they have USPS delivery and pick up each day, I went back to this store. They were happy to take the UPS prepaid item BUT REFUSED to take the USPS prepaid item even though the USPS stops there every day. AGAINST their policy to accept USPS shipping if THEY don't sell it directly. UNREAL...they don't give a damn about people unless you give them money and could careless about doing a SMALL favor of putting your USPS package in with the ones already scheduled to be picked up. DISGUSTING attitude and really poor marketing and building clientele. BUT WAIT...More! Just this week, I was sent a package via UPS that was SIGNATURE REQUIRED. I'm not home during the day! Went online to redirect the UPS shipment to this UPS store so I could pick it up after work. UPS WON'T EVEN DELIVER to this store! NO, they said. They refused to reroute the item to the OFFICIAL UPS store!! UNREAL. The item had to be RETURNED to the sender who has to re-address the stupid item directly TO THE STORE so they will accept it. read more

After frequently using this business for years to ship packages, they tried to charge me $2.00 for approximately 12 inches of tape on a small box. Don't ship from this store unless you want to get ripped off. The owner takes your money & guarantees Saturday delivery even though the delivery location was closed on Saturdays! The address was looked up on the computer & was supposedly "verified". When I complained, the owner told me I obviously don't know how UPS works & I should call their 800 number to find out.
