Would give less than 1 star if that was an option. Worst customer service for a business that hinges on providing good customer service. Don't give these thieves a penny. worth the extra effort of going to the UPS hub when they are open, or give the business to FedEx. I would drive a package to someone across the country before I gave these people any more money. Had a package delivered to me for someone else that was inside the box I received, so the label was never even scanned. Instead of doing the right thing, they rooked me for almost $60 to get the package to the right person. TERRIBLE customer service. I dropped off a package to be shipped and the UPS Store gave me a receipt with a tracking number. So far the package has not moved in 5 days. I tried tracking the package with UPS and all they showed was label created, no movement. UPS said to contact the store, which I did. The person that answered the phone said there was nothing they could do, it wasn't their tracking number, could not have been less interested. So here I am, stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place. I wouldn't let these people ship a box of rocks for me. I bought an air conditioner online that came to me with several large dents. The vendor asked me to send it back. I went into this store looking for a box. This guy Lucas helped me out. He picked the right-sized box for me, gave me tips on packing it for minimal movement, and showed me the right way to tape a box. When I finished packing the ac into the box, Lucas came out to help me load it into my car. He explained that they can't ship anything with liquid in it from that location so he gave me directions to another location 5 minutes away that could. I have to update my review because I arrived after calling UPS without a friendly call about how they were closing soon and come tomorrow. I arrived on time yet customer service rep was frustrated and cannot wait to get me out of the store it was also upset that I did not already have my packages pre-labeled and he had to get me in the system which seems like the biggest task ever for him. I need to go get my license to be able to ship packages so I told the gentleman it was in the car and he took that as I was all done so he left to the back and I said OK I guess I will have to ship tomorrow and he said OK. I understand the want to leave on time at 6:30 when the place closes but if you are open it would be great to be able to ship the package until that time. I was not trying to drop off Amazon stuff I was trying to ship goods for a child's party that need to be there that specific date and now I am one day later. read more

I've been to this location a few times and I have nothing negative to say. They've always been very helpful and I never have to wait. This last time I went, my home printer wasn't working and I couldn't print my UPS label beforehand. They helped me out and printed it for me! What a life saver! Lost my package. Tracking said it was delivered. The 'UPS Store' said they are not 'UPS' and could not understand that to a customer that is a distinction without a difference. Stored my sons college room with the store and when he decided not to return to Providence I thought it was going to be a huge hassle making the arrangements for all of his belongings. I will say, first off, that I've been here only once. My experience was so bad, though, that I won't go back to give it another try. I had two art prints that needed to be shipped (ebay selling). I went to the UPS store to buy the supplies I needed and then to send them off that same time. It started off helpful, one of the men working there suggested what I should use to ship them. I put the two prints in the separate envelopes. I labeled them. I double checked to be sure which was which and they were correct. I triple checked this... After I was done, the man working said I should have put cardboard or something in there so it wouldn't bend (maybe he could have told me this when I was buying the enveloped). I said great idea.. let's do it. He told me not to worry about doing it then, he promised me that he would take care of it himself. Well.. in the process of taking out the prints to put the cardboard in, he mixed the two of them up when he packaged them again. My two buyers received the wrong prints.... they were angry (good reason), I had to have them mail them back to me to resend again (I went to the USPS the next time around) and had to give them partial refunds for the frustration and time delay. I stopped in here to drop a next day envelope. I forgot the label and asked to print it (it was 1 label on 8.5x11 regular copy paper). The clerk charged me $3.21 to print their own UPS shipping label for a UPS Next Day Air which was paid! Simply criminal. Don't do business here. read more

Please note that, on my recent visit, this UPS location was unable to provide a tracking number upon processing the shipment. I frequently use UPS stores to ship packages and, on the day I visited the 1643 Warwick Ave location the person attending to customers was neither knowledgeable regarding UPS procedures nor were they helpful to the significant line of customers. I do NOT blame the person working that day. They were dramatically understaffed. The manager's and/or owner's of this location are completely at fault. This location uses the "fill out a form and we'll process the shipment later" method. They would NOT provide a tracking number until I gave my email address and I was told it would be "sent later." Customers stand on line just to fill out a form...have to move aside in order to fill out the form and then return to the line to have the shipment processed....kind of. "Processing" in this location simply means filling out the form and having this location take payment prior to offering a tracking number. I would absolutely would not recommend this location when a full service, fully staffed UPS facility is but minutes away. In summation: poor staff coverage, lackadaisical approach to customer service and simply a waste of time. Go elsewhere. read more

the store has a number that they do not answer especially if there is problem with an amazon pick up...it is not driver`s fault she is a regular at my house picking up amazons faulty items...unfortunately every box got wet from snow...and now it will rain tomorrow...the driver brings destination slips and in the past the slips have pounds of items from heavy on down...a person just has to match heavy items and lite...my items are probably ruined because the same 'nice driver' got in trouble from main ups office i guess and this bad attide was laid on me...this whole thing was not my fault but amazons...this place should have a vvalid call back number!!!!! give custommers a break from their sarcassimn...(sp.) i am 69 and sick it took alot out of me dealing with this...will file formal complaint...if these people hate their jobs and people give them to someone who would be grateful to have it... read more

1, I have written two negative reviews in my life. This is the second one. 2, I am in the customer service industry and have been for 22 years. I am familiar with customer service protocol, up-selling and down selling. 3, UPS has lost mine and my businesses business! Seriously...... Every time I go in and Amber the manager is there, it's a nightmare. Today she informed me that UPS is irresponsible with letters and argued that for my letter to arrive safely at it's destination I would need to buy a large manila folder. "That's the only way UPS would be responsible with a letter..." Said Amber the manager Keep in mind UPS sells cards also known as letters, and i send 1-2 cards or letters a week at this store weekly... (Never had a problem with a letter not arriving). I said let me make sure I understand you. You are telling me that UPS is not responsible enough or capable of being trusted with a letter delivery? Amber replied smuggley, "I see them loose letters all the time." Now keep in mind, all this happened after her and Chris went in the back to discuss my sending a letter. I finally said forget it, and pointed out to both Amber the Manager (as she insists on pointing out repeatedly and I think his name is Chris) that every time I come in and deal with the two of them, it's a nightmare. That I would no longer be doing business with them and that they need to work on their customer services skills. Amber pointed out again that she was the Manager, I said she needs to talk to a supervisor about that. I walked out. _______________________________________________________________ However ... The best story at this UPS in my experience is as follows. I brought a 28 inch by 32 inch by 1 1/2 picture frame in to UPS to package and ship to NH. I wanted a box that was about 3 inches wider and taler all the way around. (or close to it) Amber stood in the back pointing at Boxes and yelling out the measurements to me and everyone else all the while stating. "This wont work because"... I was not allowed to buy anything of my choosing period. I was not allowed to look at the other boxes, I was not allowed to try other boxes. Then at Ambers excessive pressure I was bullied into buying a roll of tape, 2 rolls of plastic bubble wrap, peanuts and pretty much anything they could shove in the box. In the middle of UPS I'm on the floor cutting the box down to make the 46 inch, by 52 inch by 5 inch box that Amber insisted was my only option to fit the package I was sending. There I am on the floor with box cutter modifying the massive box to the appropriate size for the Picture frame. It was ridicuouls! I was there for over an hour, peanuts on the floor (because the box was so wide the picture frame was never going to make it to NH in one piece so I had no choice but to over stuff the box at a premium price). In the end I had bought $60.00 worth of packing material so that my picture frame would survive the trip in the giant-oversized box to NH. My final bill was $78.00!!! I might as well have driven the damn thing to NH myself and saved $50.00+ and a lot of hassle. P.S. I donated all the left over peanuts, bubble wrap and tape so a future customer would not need to go through such drama. If I could give negative stars, I would. read more

I have been to this UPS Store twice to ship Zappos (pre-paid) items back and both times their staff was atrocious. The first time I had everything ready and put the box on the counter and explained it was prepaid and all set. The man there said I needed to wait for a receipt. I was in a hurry and said it was fine. He then replied, "Well if it doesn't arrive, don't blame me!" Rude. The second time I had everything ready (items in box, prepaid label printed) and just needed a piece of tape to seal the box. I asked if they could tape it or if I needed to buy a roll of tape, which would have been fine. The guy started digging through my box saying I hadn't packed it correctly and it needed more padding. I explained that my items were just two pairs of shoes (in shoe boxes with padding) and I didn't need more padding. He said for $1 he would pack it the right way. I declined. He insisted. Repeatedly. We ended up bickering over it until I offered to just buy the tape and do it myself. Then at least I'd have tape in my glove box for next time. He pressed me again that anything less then him packing it for $1 was insufficient. I ended up walking out with my package. What a completely upsetting waste of a trip! UPS, your job is to help me ship my package, not bully me into buying things I don't need. I will NEVER visit this location again. read more

I went in to ship a damaged item back to Illinois. I purchased their box for $9.50! I thought that was a bit much to begin with. The cashier put the dismantled item into the box as I was given a shipping label to complete. As I was completing it the representative told me I might was to stop completing it as the price was $64 to ship the box. I was shocked. I can see now why AMAZON is booming and rightfully so. I told him i was sorry for wasting his time as the item new was not even $60. I was then told the box he just sold me was "damaged" (all of a small 1/4 intention on the bottom) and I would have to pay for it. I will NEVER NEVER do business with this company again and I don't suggest you do either. read more

My package was delayed due to "inclimate weather" in Warwick. It's 86 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. I've been waiting for this package for two weeks and I leave the state Monday. Called customer service and asked when it would be delivered - they said "Monday". I asked if I could pick it up early Monday considering I live 15 minutes away from where they are holding my package hostage and they said that it was still in the container and they don't know what time I can pick it up. read more

Sorry but I dont really need Kenny to have a copy of my legal documents for his reading pleasure. It was like he was doing me a favor not that I was a customer about to hand him $60 (for 12 of his signatures). I took my business elsewhere and promised him a review. UPS corporate told me that a complication in my shipment (which led to a package being returned to me) was the fault of this store not making me aware of all my shipping options and I was owed a refund. When I told the manager this, he told me that the corporate service rep had no right to say this, the options she told me about did not exist, and that he was unwilling to refund the cost of payment. Then, when he returned my package, I saw that it had been opened and damaged. This all caused me to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. read more
