I had some returns from Amazon, so I opted to drop them off to The UPS Store. I had the pleasure of having Adriana help me with my returns. I'm so grateful she was there, because I was confused on which QR code belong to which item (I received the wrong item twice from Amazon). Not only did she help me with that but one of the items I was returning needed to be packed and I didn't realize until she told me about it. Luckily for me she had saved a discarded bag from a previous customer that she used to package my item! I didn't have to pay for anything because I had the QR codes and free returns with Amazon. Adriana was not only super helpful but she had a smile on her face while helping me. Now that's what I call great service!! The location is inside of a shopping center with plenty of parking. There is a young lady that works there every time I go there and she has the worst attitude! They charge $5 if you need a piece of tape and charge you $3.29 if you do not have a label. Then if you have anything to say about what a damn rip off their terrible service is, she will just tell you to go somewhere else. I am in the customer service industry and I will tell you this is the worst experience I have had every time I walk in there. I can't believe they call it customer service! If Amazon would give me a different choice like pulling my toenails out with pliers, I'd just do that instead but this is the only way I can get my Amazon returns done. Went into my local UPS store today located on Telephone Road in Ventura CA 93003 Tuesday 3/11/25 to ship a football to my grandsons who live in Caddo Mills TX 75135. No rush...needed a box...weight of football a little over 1 lb... no additional insurance requested. I was shocked when told the cost to ship it would be $41.00!!! Absolutely outrageous!! I asked him to explain the cost-size of box (never put into box to see size dimensions or given option on size) , the weight of the football ( a little over 1 lb) and the distance it had to go ( from Ventura to a suburb of Dallas TX) $41.00!!!!!!' Outrageous to say the least! Cancelled the order and drove across the street to FedEx. Perfect size box, same weight, same ship to, no added insurance or special order....To Ship Same Distance arriving Thurs 3/13...$25.00 TOTAL!!! Called UPS when I got home and asked to speak to the manager, SHE was not available and was not going to be working in that store all week-no supervisor available, no one in charge at all except for a rude employee whose parting words when I said that the gross overcharging just cost them a customer of many years, his rude comment was " We get new customers every day so doesn't matter- win some-lose some" obviously there is a reason this store only receives 3 1/2 stars-they only deserve less! Do yourself a favor when shipping and go right across the street to FEDEX. They are NOT rude, have caring customer service and they don't try to rip you off!!! There were at least three workers and they worked pretty fast, which is good. Issue I had is the tall, younger red headed guy who helped me. My interaction was all but 4 minutes but was filled with him not listening to my question but rather interrupting me and putting his finger in my face. I know I'm only 5'5" but I'm not a little kid. I came here for notary services. It was a little busy on a Saturday but I figured it would be as people are off to do errands. The store was nice and cool so I didn't mind waiting. The young man who was completing the notary services had a large order before me but was very apologetic. Once it was my turn, he was very helpful and again very apologetic. He was very knowledgeable about my document as it was missing legal wording, but he had his own document that had the correct information. Very happy with the service read more

April 17, 2020 - In the midst of COVID-19, 33,000+ Americans dead, EVERY responsible business we have entered (large and small) in Ventura has their employees that interact with their customers wearing gloves and FACE MASKS - we deliver business packages to this facility daily, today I noticed the tall lady clerk not wearing gloves or mask. The other employee was wearing her gloves and mask as she always does - frankly I was blown away at her apparent lack of concern for her customer's health. I am in the age group over 60 with 'pre-existing' that doesn't do to well if infected with this virus. So I asked her 'why aren't you wearing a mask?" Her reply was 'It's a personal decision I MADE'. I was 'floored', how unbelievably ARROGANT! HOW DARE YOU think so little of your customers and their health (or ANYONE for that matter) to risk their lives! And how dare you UPS as well to think so little of your customers to allow this employee to continue to serve the public. Thank you to the other employee that was wearing protection and clearly does care for the safety of the customer. Watch out for this location. After waiting in line for half an hour, having one person cut in line as he had more packages than me, I finally got to the counter and asked to ship my package ground with my own account number. Then in was told ground shipments haven't been picked up in 5 days, so overnight is best way to go. Fine, go ahead and put it on my UPS account. Then I'm told I have to pay instead of using my account number cause the lady was logged in on her account number. Sure sounds like a scam to make people pay more. FedEx was able to ship my package ground and for less. I'll take all my packages there from now on. read more

I had to order my birth certificate from Vital Check and requested that my package be sent to this store for pickup. I knew I'd be running errands all day and didn't want to miss my delivery since a signature was required. The staff at this location didn't even ask me for an ID and when I questioned them the employee replied with "Well if you knew it was here I just assume you are the owner. And like I said it's been a crazy Monday". Very unprofessional and careless. Although I did get my delivery the staff should be more aware of distributing packages. Amazing store, amazing staff! Completely exceeded my expectations in customer service. I live in Phoenix but needed a P.O. Box in Ventura. I was able to set up everything via, phone and fax. When I made it to Ventura to pick up the keys, I was greeted by a friendly girl even though she was in the middle of a transaction with another customer. When the time came for my need for the P.O.Box to end, I called and spoke to Mary. I gave her my name and she knew right away who I was! She didn't even ask for my box number. That really blew me away considering all the people she helps. She forwarded my mail to me and I was able to mail them back their keys. When I move to Ventura, I will be using their services again and I will recommend them to everyone. read more

Called the store to ask why my package was going to be late since I payed for 3 day shipping. The lady responds "we have signs posted up everywhere that no date is guaranteed" I then said well I didn't see any and since I didn't see them why didn't the guy tell me that when he sold me the 3 day shipping? She responded "he probably thought you already knew" no I didn't obviously so I asked for the difference since it wasn't going to get there on the day it was promised. She said "sorry we can't do that no refunds due to Covid". This store will rip you off for an extra buck. They shouldn't be able to offer 3 day shipping if it's not going to get there in 3 days.. since this is all through text you can't tell. It they lady was and just called customer service and they suck at customer service too. FedEx just got my business for life. read more

I took two boxes to be sent by UPS to Hawaii. UNfortunately one was sent UPS and one USPS. The UPS one was delivered, but they USPS was not. Hawaii Island does not have door delivery only post office boxes and pick up at the PO. Since my kids were quarantine and needed groceries, I sent care boxes. Clerk did mention it was going USPS or I would have cancelled that. In tracking the boxes three days later, I found out it was USPS. What a bunch of knuckleheads!! If I had wanted it to go USPS - I know where the PO is!!! VERY VERY UPSET!!! Now - I want my money back. Quarantine is over, the can get their stuff. read more

Ok as a customer i expect some professionalisum on the part of the employee at the ups store, such as clarty on shipping procedures. I never requested a signiture at the receiving end of the delivery. Yet the employee at ups store telephone apparently added that to the delivery order. So now the receiver needs to go pick up a package that should have been to the door service. Ups get your act together train your employees. read more

I needed to send a defective product back to a company. I went to ups.com to get an idea of how much it would cost to send. With insurance, the site estimated $24 for Ground service. I went into this UPS Store location and (as others have commented), I seemed to be an inconvenience to the young lady there. The packaging provided by the company for shipping wasn't very good, so I asked her if they had anything I could put in there to keep it from sliding around. She said all they have is packing peanuts, that's what they use. No offer to let me have some, or even sell some to me. I opted to redistribute the packing material that I had to make it a little better. I then gave her the shipping address and told her that I would like to insure the package. She rudely said that I shouldn't bother with insurance since UPS wouldn't pay for it anyway if something happened to it. When I asked her why she said because the item is already damaged and the packaging wasn't sufficient (no thanks to her). I explained that the item was defective from the manufacturer and they want it insured. She repeated again that they wouldn't pay for it. Then when she quoted me a price for shipping, she told me it would be $41!!! I asked what type of shipping that was and she said it was Ground. I told her that when I went on the site, it said that Ground was $24. She said, again very rudely, well, the UPS site is wrong 80% of the time, so.... I just picked up my package and left. After that I went to the UPS Store on Victoria. Don helped me and he was wonderful! I sent the package, insured, via Ground for around $24. I will NEVER go back to the UPS Store on Telephone. I'm sure UPS would love to know how this employee is representing their service. read more
