I came here to pickup a package that a driver failed to deliver to my home, and while at the store, one of the employees took my wallet off the counter with about $250 cash in it. They refused to return my wallet, and I was forced to call 911 to have police respond. I waited and recorded until the police showed up, all while the employees continued to refuse to return my wallet. Once the police showed up, they threatened to charge the employees with theft if it was not returned, and I was eventually then able to get it back. Avoid at all costs! read more

I got a call from my old apartment in Lord Stanly Suite in Vancouver BC, asking to collect the box from my company. It was over a year that I had moved from Vancour to Toronto because of work. The first thing came to my mind, call closest UPS to find if they can help (The UPS Store 42 - 125A-1030 Denman Street Vancouver, BC V6G 2M6, Tel: 604.689.1243. I was very nerves when I called store 42, but I was extremely lucky to speak with a lovely lady (Raha), she said, she will send someone to the apartment to pick up the box and then she will ship the box to Toronto. She called me 3 time: after picking up the box, confirm the address and collect credit card number, and finally one last time when she finished processing the paper work to let me everything done, and then email me the receipt. All this process was done in less than an hour on phone from Toronto. I am grateful to Raha doing this for a stranger, and I strongly recommend The UPS Store 42. WHAT A SLOW SLOW SERVICE They only have one person there doing everything, and while she is trying, it's very slow. I came in to drop off amazing delivery (45 minutes wait). They can have a drop off area with instructions to clear the line faster. They can't make people wait on Tuesday morning for 45 minutes just to leave something! This UPS is Trash. Full stop. I only wish I had read these reviews before shipping my items internationally back home to the US (to NY, just 7 hour drive away). I went in, and TWO HOURS LATER the woman assisting me had finished processing my shipment (just 2 boxes and I was her only customer at the start of my being there)! She did not know how to do an international shipment at all, and had to phone conference with a colleague THREE TIMES for help. She also, I kid you not, lost my customs form (with my passport information on it) that I filled out and handed to her WHILE I WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF HER. I had to re-draft the entire customs form, and pray my information on the "lost form" was later found and properly destroyed. Once that whole fiasco was over I tried to return an unopened item that I purchased at a different UPS, and she did not know how to process returns, so she just said the item was final sale (it was not, I called another location to clarify). 2 weeks later my package still hadn't arrived back home and turns out-- it was held in customs because there was an error on-- you guessed it-- my customs forms that I filled out WITH HER AND HER PHONE COLLEAGUE. This is the most inefficient store I've been to. I tried mailing a package to family before the holidays and an hour later I was able to walk out of the store! I got a lecture from the guy for not filling out the weigh bill before entering the store, or filling it out online. If the website was more intuitive I probably would have! The guy measured my package, I kid you not, 3 times. I wanted to scream the measurements at him the second time because it was already 20 minutes in, after waiting 30 minutes for him to finish processing a customer who was already in the store before I arrived. He misplaced the measuring tape twice, couldn't find a pen, and kept running behind the counter to enter info in the computer. He also felt the need to repackage my package to make it smaller. At that point I didn't even care, I just wanted out! The store itself is so small, and disorganized beyond belief. There were packages waiting to send all over the place from the first footstep in the door, with absolutely no organizational system. Due to the size of the store, during COVID-19 only 2 people are allowed in the store (in addition to the shop workers). But when I went to leave, the lady who works there let more people in because they were trying to print items. Thanks for keeping everyone safe (not)! This is possibly the worst UPS store in Toronto (and beyond). They've just started charging $2.25 for black and white photocopies and printing. You can't just print a page or two, you have to buy a large package of pages to print. The staff don't seem too helpful either. Consistently rude and slow service, I hate it when I have to pick up packages here and always try my hardest to avoid UPS solely because I don't want to come to this store. My favourite is when they serve customers that arrive after you because your time doesn't matter. I almost feel bad for writing this review, since the owner is a (seemingly) nice old lady. However, even by the standards of UPS stores, this place is terrible. Every time I go there, I vow "never again!" but then I go back because it is close to my condo. The main problem is that the owner works behind the register most days, and she is SLOW. It takes her at least 30 min to process a package. Even dropping off a pre-paid envelope takes 5-10 min. I think the problem is that she is not very good with computers, but you would think that after doing this for years she would get the hang of it. read more

So frustrating with the printing services at UPC. First of all $100 for digital prints from 2 film cameras is INSANE. I could do this for max 40 dollars at London drugs if they had one where I am located. 2) they said it would take 2 weeks max. I still have not gotten them back and it's been 3 weeks. They said I would get them 2 Saturday's ago and then last Wednesday. Now it's going to be next Saturday. 4 weeks?! Again I could pick up my photos from London drugs after 1 day. So insane. read more

Would have liked to give zero stars however there is no way to do that on these reviews. I had come by the storefront at around 11:30am on April 20th, 2020 and lined up with three other people and as I had arrived so did the store owner with her daughter. Right from the get go she appeared to be a little bit interesting to put it nicely and was speaking very loudly and roughly to her daughter. Because of the COVID-19 situation, only one person was allowed inside at a time. While waiting for the first person to be done inside I got to talking to the others in line and apparently someone had come by earlier at 10am (which is when the store is supposed to open according the the signage at the store and most other UPS facilities in the city) and it was closed. That individual called the store and was told by the store owner that the store would be opened at 11am. Mind you I did not get there until way past 11am and she was just arriving. As we're waiting in line we notice that there is a commotion going on inside and what appears to be the store owner screaming at the young gentleman customer inside. Out of the blue, the store owner then storms out of the store and begins to yell at the top of her lungs telling everyone to call the police because the young gentleman's name and address didn't match the package name and that he wants to take the package and leave anyway. Meanwhile the young man is trying to explain to her in the most calmest of tones that he is Asian and used his non-given name on Amazon and had just moved to the area and thus does not have his address updated just yet. The store owner proceeds to scream saying that "he's trying to take the package without my approval he is stealing" literally at the top of her lungs. I had never seen anything like it. She proceeds to scream "CALL THE POLICE" and then storms back inside and attempts to physically pull the young gentleman out of the store. I was appalled and just in complete shock - have never seen anything like this. Not only did this woman scream bloody murder in the middle of the street but she put her hands on this young man that not only stood there very calmly .....but most definitely DID NOT try to carry the package out of the store because everyone waiting in line could fully see inside the store. He stood with his big box package by the door not even trying to lift it. This woman then calls the police and is screaming at the poor dispatcher trying to explain that someone is trying to steal a package - which is absolutely false. There are more than 5 people now gathered by the store to witness this. She then goes back inside and proceeds to take the next customer in line while this young man is just standing inside the store by the door waiting for the police to arrive. I then go in next to try to send my package and the whole time this woman is raising her voice at me, telling me to keep my distance and sanitize my hands (I'm a healthcare worker and know what keeping a distance is especially in these times) nor do I appreciate being yelled at like I'm a child by this complete stranger. She tells me to wait on the side until she is done sorting some documents. In the middle of me waiting she gets a call back from an officer and is trying to explain to him that this guy is trying to steal from her (the officer had to several times tell the woman to quit yelling at him) and then she gets a call on her landline and tells the officer to wait because a customer is calling. WHAT? I gently remind the woman that it is probably best to have that customer reach the answering machine and not have a POLICE OFFICER wait on the other line. I'm sorry but I can almost guarantee that they have much greater and important things to take care of that some woman being completely belligerent with her customers. I will be reporting this incident to UPS headquarters tomorrow. After 5 more minutes of this I left and took my package to a different UPS because I could not stand to watch this circus unfold any longer. Everyone, beware! read more

Stay away! Called ahead to ask about self-print prices. I get there with my USB pendrive to print about 50 pages. She takes it out of my hand and goes to the computer behind the counter. I point at the self-print machine and say that I want to print there. She says it is OK. I thought that she is nice since she doesn't have anything else to do. But then she charges me for computer time. I say that's not OK, that's why I bothered with the USB, otherwise I could have just printed the documents from the internet. And then she starts to justify this by saying I could have accidentally printed more copies than I wanted from my USB, and with that assuming that I am a clumsy idiot. After having dealt with these people, i find them extremely incompetent with very poor customer service skills, and no understanding of how customer satisfaction could help increase their business. I find it very sad really!!! I ordered business cards from them and after waiting for over a week to get them i find out when i pick them up that they are unusable since the font was extremely small. I made a mistake and paid for them. But when i tried to talk to them about it the next day, they completely ignored my emails and phone calls. I wish I had seen the reviews for this place before taking my business there. I needed to send a quick fax so I popped into this location as it is close to my work. It cost me $10 to fax 8 pages. I was surprised by the price but was in a rush and had to send the fax out that morning so I agreed. And I was also informed that because it's an old fax machine the printer on it is broken so I wouldn't be able to receive a confirmation paper. For $10 it would have been to nice to be able to confirm that my documents actually reached it's destination. I'm very disappointed in the service I received for the money I paid. I definitely would not bring my business back to this location and I would recommend to anyone needing to fax, print or photocopy something to go else. Absolutely not helpful. Had my photo taken there and it was shaded - not suitable for a visa application. Refused to retake claiming some company charges them for sending emails with photos. I was asked to pay again, C$21/photo, or show them a rejection letter from the embassy stating that the application was rejected due to a shaded photo. Better find another place. read more

I have a box at this store. In May I asked the owner to send impt. mail to me at another address (at my expense) and to please forward the tracking number. No reply. I sent several emails asking whether she had sent anything. Nothing. In July, as I'm getting ready to go elsewhere, she tells me she forwarded my mail and whether I got it. I told her I did not and to please forward the tracking number so I can find out where it is. No answer. My mail is lost as of this posting bc of this store owner. She is Chinese, as one of the other reviewers noted, and this place does NOT comply with UPS standards. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. By far the worst privately run post office ive been to ever. The employees can barely speak or understand English. First time: I request next day delivery for an item, something that takes them 30 minutes to process even though the store is completely empty (industry standard is 3-4 mins). They then proceed to charge me and inform me that my time sensitive parcel will not arrive until three business days, not next day delivery! I should also mention they kept bickering in their native language and also delayed my service because another client walked in halfway through. As if they've never heard of customer care in sequence. Second time: I simply requested they scan/copy passport pictures of some original pictures I give them (mind you I took those photos at the exact same branch a couple years back) and then mail the copies to an embassy in ottawa. They agree, then cash me out and tell me to come pick up the originals by 7 that night. I come back at 9 and they inform me that they havent mailed it out yet. Im patient and agree to wait another day considering the time sensitive situation at hand. I pick up the originals the next day and notice they are smudged a little bit with ink. I turned a blind eye to it as they are no longer important seeing as I had made copies thankfully. I get a call from the embassy informing me I have to send new pictures, therefore delaying any application processes at work by another few business days!! Not only that turns out the copies I had requested to be sent to the embassy,were smudged with ink as well! A joke. Never going back there again. Bad service. read more

Dino the manager is a prime idiot. Several times I've walked in there and he speaks to his staff in such a disrespectful way, that I'm not sure how he hasn't had a stapler thrown very firmly at the side of his head. I've been printing there for several years because it was the closest place to me, but the last time I went in there, the employee made a mistake with the number of print outs they were supposed to make. At first, Dino was like "Oh, you're a long time client, we're going to throw away those anyway, take them. Employee says "really Dino", he then says "well how many are there"...once he realized that there were 10 copies done in error, he changes his mind ...how do you do that, aren't you going to throw them away? Have I not been a regular customer for years? Really? offer something to a client and then change your mind? Also, when I was counting up the different packages I was creating for a class I teach, he whispered for the employee to make sure I was "taking the right amount"...and the guy has the whipering skills of a dog in heat...so uhhh, I can hear you. I spoke up and said "are you accusing me of taking more than I should"...caught him in his tracks. Guys an asshole. I will NEVER do work with them again. DO NOT USE UPS. Broke my computer screen during shipping in spite of it being in the original box and packed with the original packing foam. I took insurance, but after literally them losing the claim I filed for 2 months, I was informed my claim was denied because the damage "did not occur during shipping". They then backpedaled and said, well, they cant be sure it happened in shipping because I hadn't packed it in the UPS Store itself. No one told me that this would bar a claim for damages when I signed for insurance. Had they explained this, I would surely have insisted we unpack it and repack it in the store. Not to mention that, when calling the main service center they were outwardly rude and one operator named Carlo even used insulting language before getting his supervisor. I have called their customer service center and the woman in charge of customer complaints, first name Ruth, has never taken the time to call me back, in spite of my leaving several messages. So, in summary, they broke my computer, took forever to process my claim, forgot to inform me when a decision was made, denied the claim in spite of all the evidence, failed to inform me of the full coverage in the insurance, and then have refused to hold anyone accountable for it. So basically I am out 200$ because they didn't do their job, and won't acknowledge it. Go anywhere else. Only use UPS if you are sending something to someone you would prefer receive whatever it is broken and disheveled. Or if you just love being insulted. read more

UPS Store Manager Dino Kanelopoulos at 371 Front St West - CityPlace is a scammer!!! I visited his store to send an international fax, he made 2 attempts to send my fax but response was (No Answer). he insisted to charge me $21.00 + tax for 2 pages failed attempts (including cover page) claiming that Telus company charges him regardless. I paid but was not convinced that he is honest. I called Telus to inquire, and they confirmed that they do not charge him since it is a toll free number that he is using. I also found that the number I had was missing a number so there is no way the call connected to be charged for it this amount. I returned back to him to request a refund; first he said that he does not refund, then he told me to come back at end of the month. I refused and insisted that I am not leaving unless I get my money back, he said to come back after couple of day. I ended up calling the police to report it as a fraud; Dino was very disrespectful, ignorant and rude!!! He closed the store at 6:00 and left refusing to wait for the police on the way. I am certain that Dino does this type of scam to people every day knowing that consumers will not have the time to report him to be investigated since the police considers this as a civil matter and should be taken to small court. read more
