Try their best to help customers as much as possible, some of the regulars they know by name. Store is kept clean. Has a lot of foot traffic from local customers. I wish I could give negative review here. Tenafly named Peter is so rude and nasty, gIves a hard time every time. Amazon/ UPS delivered 2 separate boxes, wrapped and taped together. His co worker tells me you need to buy tape from here and pack these 2 boxes together with each other and send it back the same way. I go to a nearby dollar store and rush back, trying to make it in time before UPS closes, and When I start wrapping the boxes together, he grins and says we can't take back. No appologres from him or his co worker, he continuously tells me you need to buy $15-$20 box from them to ship this back. That's ridiculous and pathetic service. Do NOT deliver to this store without a PO Box Been using UPS for 5+ years, and never had any ssue with picking up stuff delivered to stores until recently. Yesterday I had a important mail sent to this Tenafly NJ store to pick up. Even though I had a valid ID, Nat (employee) declined to hand off package to me for not having a PO Box there. When asked if a manager was present, this guy Peter stated that since I do not have a PO Box at their location, he cannot under any circumstances release mail to me unless it's a medication needed for a dire medical emergency and is needed within 5 minutes. When asked if he would be willing to speak to my higher ups, he reiterated his statement. Ultimately, he will have the mail returned to sender. I escalated the issue to UPS store customer service and Steve on the other line was unable to resolve the issue. He said that individual stores have their right to refuse to hand off package without advanced notification (namely, contacting the store in advance and inquiring whether they would hold package for the receiving party). I understand rules and protocols are in place for a reason, but obstinate adherence to said rules resulting in needless delays is just downright frustrating especially when it's no skin off anyone's back. It's a UPS store, not some top secret government agency where every move is being monitored and/or recorded; some rules can be bent. read more

PROS: this ups store is very convenient, being next to the supermarket, and a good size. The people there are always very friendly and know what they're doing. There's tons of parking, a good amount of merchandise inside, and there's never a wait. CONS: They can sometimes be slow. The drivers at UPS are very horrible. I ordered a package and no one was home to take the package. So they said that they were gonna come back the next day at 7:00pm to deliver it again. They never came, they only made one attempted and I was told that they're supposed to make three. The UPS need to stop being lazy and make the amount of attempts that they're supposed to. Went to get a notary. Staff was very friendly, upbeat and helpful. Staff was younger than the typical UPS stores but I left the store in a good mood and with a smile on my face. This UPS store really dropped the ball and will not use them again- I shipped something very valuable and the manager poorly packaged it- When it arrived it was damaged due to their negligence- PLEASE don't leave anything w/out watching how they package your items. They refuse to take responsibility for the damage and the recipient submitted a damage report and the manager didn't put in a claim for me- He strung me along for 5 months and then dropped the case. I can't agree with the other reviews. My experience is very different. I go there to drop off or pick ups packages. It's a very simple service and I've always had an accommodating smile with no issues. I everyone always seems courteous and knowledgeable. The only area of improvement i see would be to open earlier or on time. They typically open a bit later then 9:00 am. read more

UPS- Tenafly NJ--Store 3258 After being a customer for many years, I needed to have them wrap and ship a fragile antique to Michigan. Two weeks prior I was given a Price of $50 maximum for US delivery. On 2/29/20 I brought the item in and was told that the price was now $141.80, including insurance for $500.. Even though I strongly objected they couldn't care less and since I had to ship it I paid the exorbitant amount. Ebay stated that their UPS link showed the shipping rate should have been $16.41. Also the recipient stated she never paid over $45 to ship a similar item. read more

Easily the WORST service I have ever experienced. The big dude behind the counter has ZERO interest in helping people...rude, cocky and inappropriate. Quite literally finds excuses to NOT ship something, especially if it requires boxing the item up and some degree of work on his part. One of his best moves is to make up a completely ridiculous price for shipping an item so that you will be forced to go to a USPS office to ship and box it yourself. I brought one item into Tenafly UPS and they said the item would cost $180 to ship. I was in shock...Boxed it up myself for a cost of $6 and then USPS shipped it for $35!!! I can understand a couple dollars of uplift for UPS boxing, but close to $140 difference?? I believe these guys are independent operators, but if UPS ever knew what was going on here, they would have some issues. read more

She is an amazing "multi-tasker" and she can accommodate the needs of multiple customers simultaneously with efficiency and a smile! If you walk in while they are busy you might not get the attention you want because they are trying to move things along and packaging then billing items takes time. This place is awful. When you walk in they just tell you to leave your package. This offers no guarantee that anything will happen with whatever you are sending. There are two young women who work there who are extremely nice, helpful, and who actually care. It's always reassuring to walk in and see them working. It is the owner, however, who is a total jerk, to put it nicely. He is rude, impatient, and seems to have no interpersonal skills whatsoever. In the past he had loud private conversations on his cellphone while he was "helping" me. Does UPS condone this behavior from anyone, let alone the owner? One time when he was working I asked for a receipt. He printed one out (the receipts are printed on sticky blank shipping labels stickers), and folded it over thinly the sticky part, so I had a folded receipt glued to itself over a thin area. When I asked him to put the receipt on a piece of paper, which is standard protocol since the receipts are stickers, his helpful response was "You won't be able to undo that." Another time one of the young women was there with the owner and she helped me. I asked her for a receipt, which she printed out. Seeing the owner and remembering my past experience, I clearly stated, "Could you place the receipt on a piece of paper" when the owner grabbed it and fully folded it in half again, only this time he flattened the entire thing completely. I wasn't going to have any of that again. I repeated myself louder, and asked him why he just did that when I clearly asked for it to be stuck on a piece of paper. (By the way, those papers are especially for receipts and have the words "PLACE RECEIPT HERE", and have on their peripheries old coupons that expired in 2016. I don't see why they seem to be so precious to the owner that he wouldn't dare spare one for its intended purpose). Instead of apologizing he ignored me and went over to make me photocopies of the two flat sides of the receipt. That is NOT acceptable, and NOT professional. The young woman was able to reprint the receipt and place it properly on a piece of paper. I have nothing but praise and laud for the young women who work there. They are truly professional, helpful, and very pleasant. It is the owner, though, who has never once, ever, provided me good customer service, or even acted like an adult human being is supposed to act. And he is the owner!!!!! UPS needs to commend and reward the young women there and seriously investigate and evaluate the owner's conduct. read more

I have never been to a shipping/package store (FedEx, UPS, USPS, or other) that charges $1 to tape up a regular box. Although I may have been hasty to express my shock, which I believe was justified and natural, the owner who was attending me was apparently in no mood to deal with a customer giving him any issues. I may not have been kind, but the man immediately got p'ssed off, began using foul language against me and refused me and my service, even after my apologies, which was not close to deserving that rudeness and hostility he returned against me. They apparently do not know that the customer comes first, and also seem like they want to get in the packaging tape business rather than the shipping business. It was my first time going and I don't mind driving an extra 3 miles to the next nearest location to avoid this terrible place of business. read more

I don't think this establishment deserves even 1 star. The service is terrible! It's slow and the girl who works there is extremely rude. I went to this location on several occasions to drop off my packages because it's location. I asked for drop-off receipts which other locations don't have problem printing out for me. The reason I asked for it was because in the past a staff at a different location lost my package and I ended up being responsible for it. My mistake was that I didn't see the staff scan the box and left the box on the counter. After that incident I always ask for a receipt. The reason why I was compelled to ask for one was the girl asked me to just "drop the packages on the counter" and told me "you are all set!" I asked her if she was going to scan it in front of me. She said not at that moment cause she was "busy". That's when I asked for a receipt. She became very angry and said they don't do that. I told her I needed it. She said for AMAZON or Zappos packages I don't need receipts for the drop off packages. Yes if she scanned those boxes I dropped off promptly! But how am I going to trust someone who asks me to drop off the packages on the counter without scanning them and also refusing to give receipts? I did not leave until she printed it out for me and she bitched at me with such a nasty attitude. The receipt is a sticker. She can just give me the print out but what she would do is peel off the sticker and crumbles it and then hands it over to me as if she doesn't want me to be able to read the content of the print out. Her actions are straight out nasty and unprofessional. I asked to speak to a manager and asked her if she was a manager. She said she wasn't and that manager is never there. Another reason she said that she couldn't print out the receipt was she doesn't want to be responsible for packages if they were lost. Wow... I have no idea how this place stays open with someone like that working at the store. I am assuming she's either the owner or owner's daughter... cousin, wife, or sister... who knows but I try to avoid this awful place which is a shame cause I use UPS store often for business and personal reasons. read more
