The business advertises a notary on the website. When I got there, I was told that the notary is not on site and apparently someone needs to come to the store to do this. I believe they said there would be a five dollar charge for the person to come into the store and another $15 charge for the notary Stuff and must be paid in cash. Hardly even seems legit. Perhaps it is, but falsely claiming you have a notary in the store when the person isn't there seems absurd. I have had luck shipping stuff out of this location, but the notary thing seems a debacle. read more

In an attempt to save energy I try to return my Amazon items to a UPS store while doing other errands. Several months ago I had a return, my 18 pound dog was with me. I carried her into the store when a female middle age black UPS employee screamed at me not to bring the dog into the store. I told her it was a warm day and I would hold the dog as I had completed the return and I was just dropping off. She rudely screamed, " if that dog comes in here no service." I went home and my wife brought the item back. Yesterday the air temp was 87 degrees. I had another return. My plan was to leave the dog in the car with the AC running parked where I could see her from the window of the UPS store. However, a big brown UPS truck was triple parked in front of the store forcing me to park in a space reserved for another business near the UPS store with a "we tow" warning. I went into the store and a young white female associate met me. I told her I had two similar items that needed returned and the Amazon return notice had two UPC scans. She rudely said I would need to separate the two identical items and determine which UPC code went with each item! She refused to LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER when I said they items were identical! I took them out of the bag and showed her, she then arrogantly scanned the items, threw a UPS tracking receipt at me and I turned to get back to my dog, in a car, with AC running, in a space I should not be in when she screamed, "Take your garbage with you!" She was referring to the shipping bag which I had brought the items into the store. She screamed again! I returned to the counter picked up the bag and placed it in a garbage can for shredding. I walked out only to discover she was following me out of the store screaming that the garbage can was not to be used and she was following me out! Her manor was VERY threatening so I proceeded to my car with her hollering in close pursuit! Even the triple parked UPS guy said to her it's a bag! She kept screaming and threatening me I guess as I could not understand her! Such continual poor service by this store and its employees! I have informed Amazon of this incident too!! The owner and the employee owe me an apology and should realize that the customer is their business and their paycheck! You should be ashamed of how this employee treats your customers! Helpful people working super hard - this has been my go-to ups store from 2018 to now and will continue to be. Our company ships samples once or twice a week, so I'm in there often, and honestly every person there has been helpful, organized, and quick to help -- but mostly I notice they're all efficient to get people in and out and on their way as quickly as possible. I like the fact that they don't waste my time and get me out the door as quick as I can. Since Covid started, I've notice how freakishly busy shipping has gotten. There's sometimes half a dozen people there waiting in line, and the UPS team at Hamilton will often call out to or walk the line to ask if anyone has pre-labeled packages, so they're not standing there for fun. It's a group of really unique people who all seem to answer the same questions every day, figure stuff out for people who can't remember their Aunt Suzy's ZIP code, and politely tell people they can't take FedEx packages. I've even seen them literally show a guy how to open their front door when the guy couldn't figure out how to push. Seriously. So I've noticed the best thing you can do is to figure out in ADVANCE what you're trying to do and where you're trying to send your box o' goodness, to help them do their job as best as they can. I do a lot of my shopping on Amazon and that often involves returns through UPS and they're always patient with me as I fumble around with my packages and find the label scan codes. Worth keeping in mind, and Yelp, worth providing an address for (not visible in search, but I know it is in Hamilton Square). This is at least A-OK. really more a 3.5, maybe even a 4 on a good or more days than not, but sometimes slightly odd, so a 3. Will go back. read more

I saw you with those boxes I didn't know you wanted to mail those we can't do that.." got there 15 minutes before they closed why stay open if you no longer offer services? Ok, so let me start by sharing that I'm a very anxious person. It's true, I admit it. I moved away from State College 6.5 yrs ago, and left most of my belongings in storage. I was visiting over Christmas and finally had to go through to try to pare down the collection, and possibly ship some things to my (not-so-)new home. One thing I needed to ship was a Fender Squire mini strat guitar. I never found a hard case that fit it, and I didn't have time to search for one before I needed to leave, so I knew it wasn't safe to try to haul it on the plane with me, because the airline had too many "ifs." I reluctantly went to the UPS store to pack it, after doing research online about how to do so properly. When I arrived at the store, Luke was the associate at the counter and I chatted with him about the situation and he offered to pack it for me, explaining there would be a guarantee if I let him do so. I agreed and he went to work. I could see him from where I was, and honestly, I just panicked. I felt like nobody would pack it as carefully as me, because of my emotional attachment to this guitar, and I actually called out loudly, yes, yelled, across the store to him to please stop packing it. He brought the guitar back to me, politely listened while I muttered about just wanting to pack it myself, and then guided me to the bubble wrap and a counter I could work on. Awhile later, feeling defeated with my own attempt, and in tears, I walked back to the counter and asked him if he could pack it after all, because I wasn't feeling confident about my progress. He graciously accepted and suggested maybe I would be more comfortable if I didn't watch him, and another associate cheerfully recommended a cafe in the complex to get something to eat. I left and then came back at the time we agreed, giving him space to work. The package ended up being less than the original quote, and it seemed sturdy enough, but also I knew there was enough insurance that if something did happen, I would probably be able to find something close to this guitar, if it didn't make it. I just had to let go. They warmly reassured me and asked me to let them know when the package arrived. I flew home, I live in Hawaii now, btw, and the package arrived the following day, as scheduled, and looked as if it hadn't been shipped; no visible marks or indents on the outside, which was a great sign. Sure enough, after serious unpacking because there was SO MUCH bubble wrap, I found my beautiful guitar, unscathed. I was relieved and grateful, and I would trust them with anything else I needed to ship, so I hope you will too! Thanks for reading. read more

This location is by far the most customer-friendly UPS service I've ever experienced. Thanks to manager Allen and associate Mary, my mother's precious antiques were wrapped with care and freighted cross country without a scratch. Allen checked in with me frequently and came on site to pick up the furniture, lamps and paintings. The freight service was clearly rough on the boxes but the contents were protected by the excellent packing job. I'd recommend this location for freight service as I learned that it's a great alternative for transporting a few pieces furniture compared to a moving company. Worst UPS Store ever! Completely unprofessional, incompetent, and very rude employees. I was second in line and asked to have copies made. The 2 clerks obviously did not know how to make copies and helped at least 6 other customers while I waited. I made my black and white copies I needed myself but they do not allow customers to use the color copy machine. When a clerk finally helped me the copies were not made correctly and the clerk did not know why and was very rude. At that time one clerk wrote a note to the other that said "$5.00 custom". When she rang up my order she charged me $3.00 "custom fee". When I asked what that was for they told me because I asked them to make copies and didn't do them myself! Unbelievable! I go to this UPS Store for all my shipping needs as a frequent eBay seller. It's location is extremely convenient for me, and there is always at least two competent employees working, which means that the wait times are very short or nonexistent. They also provide shipping via USPS here when the prices will be cheaper (you just have to ask), so that's really convenient too that they can even check those prices so readily. I had one package damaged in transit (not this store's fault) that was rather valuable, and after I filed a claim, I met the manager Allen. He is the single most helpful store manager I have ever worked with, constantly making sure that the next step of the claim was in order, and most importantly, being very friendly the whole time. I ended up getting everything that I deserved in a relatively timely manner, and I am nearly certain that I would have gotten too little too late had Allen not been there to represent me.
