Horrible. Never get my amazon packages delivered due to the store being closed during hours that it posts as open, or unable to pick up my packages on time because they seem to close early. Truly the worst ups store I've been to and I've been to a lot. The employees are nice but painfully slow and it's almost like they are slow on purpose. Like they are purposefully doing other tasks instead of helping the 10 people in line. The store is very small and there is no Amazon return kiosk here either which is insanely impractical. read more

I use the UPS location in Prospect CT frequentl. The customer service by all the employees I have had contact with have been friendly, helpful and patient. Most recently I needed to return a package but needed a label printed. The young woman helping me was so very patient even though there were at least 20 people before me and a line just as long behind me. I witnessed her calm and patience with everyone. Her coworker was helping a customer who was shipping packages overseas and he too was very patient and helpful. They were both very calm and steady. Great customer service! read more

Yesterday we needed to return a damaged crib and the UPS store was an option to send it back. We arrived at the store at 6pm and the first thing that happened when we walked in the store...there was an employee standing behind two other employees at the cash registers and he just looked right at all of us and said "oh great just what we needed". I almost said to him you do know you just used your outside voice to customers! He was VERY RUDE! The other gentleman (who I believe the manager and has a grayish beard) was very nice - as well as the young lady who was working the other cash register who helped Us check out. She was very courteous and sweet. The manager also put a little extra tape on the box to make sure that it made its way to its return destination safely. We were only charged $1.99 for the extra tape - which was very nice. But please retrain the other employee with the medium brown hair and beard who was wearing a yellowish UPS uniform to use his "inside voice" in his head, even if he's tired, cranky and unhappy with the size of a box that comes through the front door - you don't say that to customers! Your hours posted are until 630pm. Everything was set and we were in and out of there by 6:10pm. Also, PLEASE NOTE that crabby guy never once was involved in the transaction or even touched the box - so we weren't quite sure what he was grouching and complaining about. I brought several fragile antiques from my mothers home in Connecticut to be packaged and mailed including Indian relics, crystal etc. I paid extra ($250) for them to package them and bought $2,500 in insurance. I received the package late with several broken pieces and missing items including the Indian relic. I contacted both the store and the main UPS only to be told that I need receipts for the missing and damaged items. Who has receipts for stuff like that??? This store is a total rip off and I would not recommend them! Take them to the post office or FedEx instead. read more

I would have rated this place a zero if possible. If used it now twice to return products only because they were the only choice offered by the manufacturers of the returned products. The young lady at the front desk stared at me with hollow eyes and offering one word answers to questions and the manager came out and stood behind her trying to be intimidating as I continued questions. A cell phone was stolen after shipping from this location. The only words I received from both of these people was call the number on the website. She helped me repackage this heavy and awkward item and also helped me obtain new password on my phone which I needed to return this item to Amazon. UPDATE: So you're essentially corroborating that you do in fact price gouge and that as an owner or manager you've put your employees at risk during a pandemic without taking any responsibility for your business along the way. Being open is a choice. Personally I wish you had closed so that you would've hindered me from using your services that lack clarity and price points that day. You've done no one any favors and in fact your business is locally very disliked. Way to go,bud! Furthermore stating that you in any way understood my husband was happy with your services would've required you to be in the actual building. He was pissed and would've driven the information we faxed to NEW HAVEN for a fraction of your fax cost. Currently we're relishing the day your sad franchise goes out of business :-) The "manager" who I suspect is actually just the owner had his employee act as a liaison between us after he refused my refund. There's a pandemic going on and rather than drive to take my paperwork to an attorney twenty minutes away I thought it best to just locally fax. They charged my husband 39$ to fax 26 pages which were all aware has little material cost or labor involved. I returned to the store and am 8.5 months pregnant and after a refusal of a full refund they called the police on me. I was told by the only employee there to step aside while they helped another customer, which is nonsense because I had just purchased almost forty dollars worth of services and wasn't loitering. The manager or owner tried to offer me a discount to reduce the cost to a dollar per page but at that point I felt truly cheated and swindled. There were no quotes discussed before the service was rendered and there were no prices listed anywhere in the store. If you google the average cost to fax it's a dollar per page. So highway robbery being reduced to a decent cost is not a favor to the customer. The police even told me to contact the consumer reporting of Connecticut. Update- i went in at 1 pm on 8/21/2020 with my package- i present them to the guy he refused to send them. He said until i show him some respect he wouldnt take my packages . I said "he would only take them if i removed my post" . He said "im old enough to be your father". I recently shipped 10 boxes from Naples, Fla to New Haven, Ct after selling our home in Naples. I used a UPS Store in Naples to ship my belongings home to Ct. They were helpful, informative and friendly. I purchased 7 boxes and shipping products from the UPS Store and 3 boxes from Home Depot. UPS asked if I wanted to add extra insurance on the boxes, as I had marked them fragile, glass, frames, and I did so. The boxes arrived as scheduled, however the last 3 boxes to arrive were damaged and two in particular were in very poor to poor condition. I notified UPS immediately and they instructed me what to do. I was told to photograph the boxes on all four sides capturing the labels and information about the weight each box could accommodate. I was advised to photograph the boxes as they were being opened and to photograph how they were packed and wrapped. I complied with all their requests. Eight items were totally damaged and irreplaceable. After a week or two I was notified by UPS that they would not pay for the damages to these items as they felt that I did not use enough bubble wrap and they felt that they were not properly wrapped. I replied that the objects were also wrapped in bulky towels and bedspreads to cushion them. I then asked how the trucks were loaded? Was it by humans or robots? The answer was "that is irrelevant." I was told that the trucks have a short amount of time to be loaded and that they can have as much as 500 pounds placed on the boxes. I asked why then do the boxes have preprinted areas asking if there are fragile items in the cartons, which we indicated there were, and why then was I asked if I want to pay for additional insurance to protect my property? Ultimately, I was told that UPS would not reimburse me for the damaged belongings. I paid UPS $1,188.05 to ship the 10 boxes. I determined the damages amounted to $150.00. I could not understand why the insurance that I had to pay extra for, would not cover it. I was told it was not the insurance that refused to pay, but UPS themselves. I have been a seller on e-Bay for 11years and always use the USPS. In those 11 years, I have had three items that were damaged and the insurance carrier for the USPS covered the damages without any difficulty. Therefore, I will never do business again with UPS, and will tell all my friends and family not to do business with UPS Shipping, unless they want to experience the same frustration. Okay so here's my experience. I went to drop off a package which contained phones, so the girl behind the counter asked "Does this package contain lithium-ion batteries?", to which we responded "yes". Afterwards she said "The package needs to have a label stating that lithium ion batteries are in the package. Okay so good so far. I had taken a look at the shipping label that T-Mobile sent me prepaid and noticed that there was indeed a warning at the bottom that stated "This package contains lithium ion". The cashier said "Oh, that's not going to work, you'll need to buy this print out for $2 so that the warning is large enough to be read. I thought this was a little bit ridiculous so I said "This label was made by UPS and it is clearly written at the bottom". She then said "Well, you can have T-Mobile send you a new label!". I said "No, we're not going to deal with that, this package is labeled". The cashier rolled her eyes, took the package out of my hand and then printed out a receipt and said "Here's your receipt!". The rudeness of this clerk was unbelievable. 1 Star. Edit: So I got this message today from Afif B. who apparently either knows the clerk or is the owner, Hi Afif! His message reads: Afif B: Nice job Chris. Trying to get a 17 year old high school student to lose her job for simply trying to do the right thing. Per federal government regulations, all packages containing Lithium Ion batteries must be labeled with visible large labels and accompanied by a declaration stating the contents , customer information and a contact phone number.She was trying to make it convenient for you so you don't have to do it yourself for a small charge. Less than a cup of coffee at DD. My response to you sir, which is now public as well: If you read my review you'd find that the label did indeed include exactly that. Update: my reply to this fine business owner... Exactly what I mean about your attitude. Terrible. One roll may cost you a couple of bucks and help seal maybe 40-60 boxes for your customers. Not everyone has packing tape easily available but they have money to pay for your shipping prices. It's like going to a restaurant and being asked to pay for Ketchup, salt, napkins, etc. Maybe it's because of your lousy attitude that you don't make enough margin to spend pennies worth of tape? Maybe you do not run a soup kitchen, but you're definitely the soup nazi of UPS. lol read more

Very poor experience with printing services. I had a PDF file that I bought from etsy to make table numbers for my wedding. As they printed I pointed out that the table numbers were printed on both sides of the paper - which I did not want, each table needs its own number. He claimed this was not his fault, but the formatting of the file. This was a simple printer settings problem and instead of troubleshooting the problem, he charged me for the mistake he made. The file printed fine elsewhere. UPDATE from the below comment: I would have gladly paid for mistakes made, if the issue I was having was helped. This was a case of poor customer service. I had to stop the printer with no assistance from the associate. When I asked how to change the settings, blame was set on the PDF file, no further assistance was provided. I went to another UPS store, better assistance, better customer service, and no issues. Too bad this could have been easily handled, but instead it was a very poor experience. read more

I will never recommend this UPS Store. The manager or store owner was VERY rude and unhelpful. I had a large not heavy package, which he would not help. He told me to take it to the back. Absolutely ridiculous. I have use several UPS stores and have never been treated as rudely as this man treated me. He should not be a representative of UPS. I will never use this place again. While I was on hold (20 minutes and then redirected to a voice mail), I read the reviews. I cannot believe that the owner or direct representative is as unprofessional as he demonstrates. Yes, you have irate customers. But you cannot afford the luxury of calling people "ignorant." I have a simple question based on a UPS shipping error. I don't think that it is anything that you can help me with, but I have to try something. The driver for UPS did not deliver both of my boxes and I need someone to contact them. I know that this most likely isn't something you can do. But, your associate put me on hold without confirming anything with me, and then redirected me to your voicemail. Owner refused to give me a receipt for a box going to Amazon. I stood in line today for 20 minutes to drop off a return to Amazon. It was an expensive item and I wanted a receipt but the owner or manager told me they were too busy to give me a receipt. If I wanted one, I would have to come back some other time. He told me to leave my package in a pile on the floor and I told him that I had waited in line and just needed a receipt. He flat out refused. I told him I would not be back and walked outside and told all the people in line that they couldn't get a receipt. I did call him an A-hole because that is how he was acting. He stated that I looked like such a classy lady until I said that. Give me a break. I've heard negative comments about this owner before but have gone anyways because it was convenient. There are many other UPS stores to choose from. My few packages probably wont negatively impact his business but I hope people really read the reviews on here and make wise decisions about using this business. Take a look at his condescending responses to previous reviews. Apparently, if you don't praise him, he is shocked and says to get the hell out of his store. Brought an item to find a box that fits and the trainee had to go in the other room and ask her boss, and he said "Well he has to pick the box" with an attitude. So much for customer friendly, even though she measured the dimensions for me I got a box that fit too big because lack of customer service. Been here one time before and they tried a box for me and it fit perfect. Great place! Reliable customer service, never had a problem with my packages. I have a business account and a mailbox. I get a lot of bulky mail, and the mailbox service is impeccable. Never had any issue - I have been a customer of the UPS store since they opened up ten years ago. The people working there are very friendly, which I cannot say for some of the customers who I have personally witness act rude and entitled - and usually over something silly, like not getting free stuff (btw, the Post Office also makes you pay for tape.) I have my mailbox at this store. The owner and staff have always been friendly and courteous to me and I've witnessed many customer interactions that were the same. The negative interactions are typically from a customer yelling at the staff usually caused by the customer screwing their own stuff up. I'm confused as to why there's so many bad reviews but I think it's mainly from entitled folks. #1 The UPS store didn't cause the pandemic. #2 The UPS store doesn't control your crappy buying habits that lead to you needing to return your crap back to Amazon. How do I know this? Because I have to stand in line behind you folks every day to get my mail. Buy your own packing tape. Last Thursday afternoon, around 3:00 pm. I went to this store to get sensitive papers notarized. After asking the man behind the counter if he could notarize my paperwork he said yes and told me to sign the papers and to show my id. So I did exactly as he asked. After I signed the papers- this man looked at my papers and had the audacity to ask me, "Where did you get this? Online?", I said no it's from an attorney office, they mailed it to me. He proceeded to ask, "Why didn't you have the attorney sign it?", I replied- well because it was mailed to me and the paper work says I can have this notarized anywhere and I proceeded to show him the instructions from the attorney. Then he asked, "Where did you get THAT from?" "Did you make that up?", "Don't you need a witness?" At this point I was livid, but still keeping my composure- I politely told the gentleman (term I use loosely), "If you do not feel comfortable, I will take my papers elsewhere, but all of my papers are legitimate." Not to mention the line was getting long behind me and I really felt embarrassed. He continued to thumb through my papers, gave them back and said something along the lines of he didn't feel comfortable notarizing my papers! I took my papers and left even though I followed all the directions and I only signed them after he told me to. I was really embarrassed, frustrated and dismissed. I waited in line patiently for a service, I followed directions from the atttorney's office, showed proof and the directions that were sent to me from the office, did what the man behind the counter asked in order to get my paperwork notarized correctly and I had to leave with my sensitive papers signed, but not notarized by this notary. They were ruined because of the person behind the counter. read more

DO NOT GIVE THIS ESTABLISHMENT YOUR BUSINESS. Ugh wish I read the other reviews before attempting to do business at this location. The bad reviews are true. Went to make an Amazon return around 615pm, location closes at 630pm. Desk worker assists person in front of me thoroughly, almost dragging on the conversation. I am next at the desk sometime around 620-625 and am asking for assistance identifying items in my return/matching them with the labels since I'm not sure how it all works. Attendant rudely says he can't help me. I am at the desk trying to sort out the codes and items without his assistance while he stares at me as the clock turns 630. He tells me his shift is over and to come back when I'm more organized. I say that I had been there for 15-20 mins at that point and needed his customer service to complete the task and he told me again his shift was over at 630 and to get more organized. The lack of customer service here is astonishing. I brought a box with a label on it to be sent back to Frontier, all the employee has to do is scan and send it on its way, the label that came from the company didn't scan so employee told me I had to call and get a new one, I thought it was weird but I said thanks and left, went to another UPS Store just to see what would happen and yes the label didn't scan BUT at the second try the employee just typed something in the computer, gave me a receipt and said all set and that was it, didn't even have to ask. So basically the employee at this store was too lazy to try a little thing called customer service as if using fingers to type some letters was just too hard? Maybe these stores don't make revenue when dropping things like that off which sucks but maybe if people were nice here, next time I needed to actually go purchase something at this store or pay to ship I would choose to go to a different instead based on the reviews and answers from the owner! read more

I have been using this UPS store for many years for many services, including receiving mail and packages, and outbound shipping. The service has always been great, the employees always very helpful. In all the years I am not aware of any lost package or piece of mail, they pay attention to details, which sometimes means waiting a minute or 2. I know some posts here are negative. I have seen some of the interactions first hand, and they typically follow similar paths. One, people do not want to pay for a service they think of as free. A huge part of shipping has gone from customers paying to ship gifts, to pre-paid Internet return labels, for which the store makes almost nothing...so they charge a very minimal fee, if they have to help properly prepare a package for shipping. No business can survive when a majority of their services are given away for free. UPS does not own these stores, they are private franchise businesses. Second, some people get impatient when the store has rules they are mandated to follow, either by UPS, or by government regulations, about proper labeling, hazardous stickers, and tracking receipts for auto returns. Some just want to drop and run, which many times can't happen. And as above, they pay attention to detail so packages arrive properly. When customer interactions get angry or very impatient, things escalate. When customers nicely ask for exceptions, favors, or at least have a bit of patience, the owner and his employees treat everyone great. I know how upset some employees get when customers get rude or aggressive, as I have seen it first hand many times. I am real happy with this store, I am there 2-3 times a week for many years, and you can count on any item you ship being properly packed. I have shipped breakables, packed elsewhere, and they have arrived broken. When I ship form this store, they arrive great, time after time. read more

I frequent this store all the time. Very nice folks. Older gentleman and younger guy have always been friendly. Used then for notary services and shipping. I see people leaving bad reviews about being charged. What do you expect from a business? It's up to the customer to secure packaging and labeling.you pay for anything additional. I had one experience that I wasn't too happy with. Went to return a package one day and there was a younger girl at the counter. She had a friend visiting her that day. She didn't say much at all. She Asked me what I needed. Gave her the package and received a receipt in return. Made me feel like i interupted her. She went on chatting with her friend. i am a mailbox holder and I spend a lot of time in the UPS Store. I witness a lot of interactions and transactions this store does and I thought I'd share what I thought about these interactions and the store itself. I have been using this UPS store for several years for many services, including printing, shipping and packaging services. The service they provide is always outstanding and have by far have the most respectful employees I have ever interacted with.However, while going through the reviews from other customers like myself, I have noticed the negativity they felt about this store. Honestly, I'm shocked by these posts because I have seen these interactions first hand and usually its simply because the customer refused to pay a dime out of their pocket? That doesn't really make much sense does it? First of all, people walk into this store believing that they are entitled to a full free service, which is completely absurd. For example, many customers bring in pre-paid packages from the Amazon Carrier. These customers usually are fully unprepared without a box or don't have the box taped up and ready to go. When the associate explains to them they must bring it already taped up or they could purchase tape or they could simply do it for them for a $1.00 fee (Depending on the size of the box) the customers lose their mind. I have seen customers yell and criticize the employees for simply trying to run the business and do their job. Its insane to me that people expect the UPS Store to provide a full free service every time they come in. You guys need to understand that this is a business not a non-profit organization. We should be happy that they even have a store to help us with out shipments/print jobs, etc. Another instance I thought I would share, is the computer time share the store offers. This service is very convenient and helpful in my opinion. In summary, the store charges $3.00 for a minimum of 5 minutes to use the computer and print whatever you need or you could use it for up to an hour for $10 and get a minimum amount of copies for free. One day a customer asked the associate if she could print out a pre-paid label that amazon had sent to her and the employee kindly offered her the computer time share service. Immediately the customer starts yelling and complaining about paying to print out a "piece of paper" and using the computer. It was absurd and sad that someone is complaining that a business is charging for their services, how do you expect them to function if everything was free? However you'd go to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts to buy a $6.00 coffee and not say a word to the employees.
