Helton was very prompt and helpful. He was helping three customers simultaneously to get the customers done. They have a notary and great package services as well. Parking is tough this block though , don't get towed read more

I have been to this store several times to have notaries done. The previous staff were knowledgeable and I was satisifed. Yesterday I went back and encountered a new guy. I always ask for the 'Jurat Attached' stamp affixed. This guys said he wont do it, and if he applies a second stamp and signature applied on the first page he will have to charge me the price for two stamps. So I told him I only need the Jurat stamp affixed like before with the previous staff. I may have raised my voice somewhat but he escalated and told me to lower my voice because I perceived this to be a CASH GRAB. He went on to insist that what I was asking was illegal. In actuality what he was offering me was the one that was ILLEGAL. Notary is not allowed to affix more than one signature and stamp per document regardless of the number of pages. I have had this done at this store and at the Alameda store similarly by both store's employees without any problem. The argument went on until this guy told me to take my business to the other UPS stores. And then he called me a BITCH. I am writing this to inform that their notary is WRONG and ILLEGAL for what he was offering. I will be reporting this to the State of CA authorities. The part about me that I was a bitch I accept becasue I responded that he was an assh--le. '' 'The following is the correct rule which I proceeded to take back to the Alameda UPS store - There are two pages to my document. Page One and Page Two. Notary signs and stamps Page two the second and final page. I asked him to stamp 'Jurat attached' on the first page and he agreed. Yes, your notary can absolutely do this, provided they used a generic information stamp and not their official notary seal. There is a critical legal difference between the two types of stamps in California: 1. The "See Attached" / "Jurat Attached" Information Stamp (Allowed) Many California notaries carry optional, commercial administrative stamps that simply print text like "See Attached Jurat Certificate" or "Jurat Attached". Why it's allowed: This is not an official legal seal. It is merely an information label used to cross-reference multiple pages and prevent fraudulent page-swapping. The Rule: As long as this stamp does not contain the notary's name, commission number, or the California State Seal, the notary is allowed to put it on Page One.' For a supposed Notary he is IGNORANT, ILL-INFORMED, INCOMPETENT and a FRAUD especially for offering to sign a second signature as long as I paid him which is completely ILLEGAL. For this alone his notary designation should be voided and him duly penalized. Again - prevent fraudulent page-swapping. I explained this to him but he refused to accept. this. The Rule: As long as this stamp does not contain the notary's name, commission number, or the California State Seal, the notary is allowed to put it on Page One. But he is willing to sign a second signature if he gets to charge me for the second signature. See the picture now? So will the owner/manager (if he is the owner) inform and teach your notary employees the above and to teach him that it is ILLEGAL to inform and try to CHARGE me additionally for the price of a SECOND signature because he is really making this one up as he goes along while cash-grabbing/double dipping. in short he's an ignorant crook. DEAD WRONG on BOTH counts. This is DANGEROUS. I also gave him the middle finger as I left. read more

I came in today to make a return for a product I bought online. I had a package label printed and packaging already but no tape to secure it. Shout out to Enrique who was so kind to help me out in a pinch! He wrapped up my package for me and gave me my receipt! No fuss No cuss and I appreciate that so much. He made my return easy and quick! Thank you so much Enrique because of your customer service I will return to this location! read more

So I needed a last minute notary and found this store on Google. The young man, Gustavo was very thorough and professional. The young lady who was also working was so friendly and a hard worker. This place was busy but there were consistently customers if that makes sense. read more

The female manager was extremely rude for no reason. I wish that I could speak with the owner because the service I received wasn't customer friendly at all. I will not be going back to this location for any service. I didn't even complete all the service I needed done. She definitely needs more customer service training. read more

VERY GRATEFUL FOR GUSTAVO!! He helped me with my returns and mailings, providing exceptional customer service! It's nice when people go the extra mile. They could use extra staff at this location, so I'm especially appreciative of Gustavo switching gears to manage all my needs while obviously having a considerable workload. read more

My wife has a business box at this UPS Store, among other reasons that's good to have a Downtown Oakland address as her business address. There isn't a whole much to comment about, which is good, in instances of a UPS Store ... no news is good news, meaning no lost packages outgoing or incoming. Sometimes it can be challenging to find street parking but other than there aren't any major problems with this place that we've noticed. read more

I actually live abroad now, but I wanted to leave this review to say how much I appreciate their great service. I used this UPS store for many years when I lived in Oakland - for product returns, notary services, passport photos, and even shipping things abroad. In every instance, they provided prompt and courteous service and, in many cases, went out of their way to help me understand the complexities of things like international shipping and the protocols for visa applications. The owner is a great guy and the staff has always been great. Top notch! read more

good service, nice people, this is my go to UPS location for dropping off packages. workers here are very welcoming and easy to talk to for help. value is great and services requested are to expectation. read more

Location is very convenient, but, the young man that works there is so rude. I mean very unprofessional. I brought in a package with specific instructions to UPS. Label needed to go into UPS slip and not tapped. Brought the box in untapped/sealed. Got scolded by this kid for not tapping up my box (never a problem before, website says THEY will box, pack and seal for you) then he was angry for not taping the label on. I mean for real. It says clear as spring water, must go inside UPS clear pocket. So I pointed it out and he just stood there, stating at me. Then he actually dismissed me. Only reason I gave three stars is because of the young lady that works there, she has always been pleasant and helpful. Next time she is not there, i will turn around and leave read more

The people who work there were very nice as they explained to me that there was a $5+ charge to print out a pregenerated UPS label. They explained that the owner of this franchise chose to charge for this. I know the cost of doing business in Oakland is high, but this is one way to ensure that I will not be coming back to this store. Even USPS prints out their own labels. read more

These guys are fantastic. Excellent customer service, always accommodating. I've been with this UPS Store for almost a year+. However, I'm on my final three months since moving from California to Texas. They're going to forward my mail to my new address. read more

I sell on eBay and I've used this UPS Store more times than I can count. But the last I went there the service rep started to put a very expensive and delicate item in a big box with no packing - I had to stop her as she was about to tape the box. Maybe they remembered that episode because today they wanted to used massively oversized boxes - around 10 times the volume of the items to be shipped - thoroughly stuff it with packing, and charge me more than any UPS Store has ever charged me. At least one person working with me was obviously new. I get that service workers are stretched thin right now but I'm trying to take care of business and this wasn't acceptable. I also go to other UPS Stores and I'm glad to say this location is an anomaly. read more

I'm very pleased and happy with Sam's customer service. He's very polite and very helpful 5 out of 5

Best location yet! Since I come here once a week now, I feel like I should probably give them a review. Everyone who works here has always been extremely helpful, attentive and detail oriented. They greet you upon arrival, come to check in while I'm going through my packages and offer their advice about shipping. I get anxious when parking in Downtown Oakland but there is plenty of street parking and a parking garage right across the street. I'm always in and out of there in less than a half hour which is a win in my book. Lines are never long either because everyone who works here is so fast at what they do. I plan to get all my shipping needs out of this location now. Thank you! read more

I like this drop off location. Its not far from my house. It's very fast and convenient. The workers are nice and the lines are never long. I'm always in and out when I come here. They're doing some remodeling so it looks a tad bit hidden. But you can still come here. It's still easy to find. read more

Shakush helped with great service. My situation was complicated and he found a solution!! The families of Oakland Unified thank you!! read more

I come here to drop off my Amazon returns and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

I had a little bit of business to do and this was the closest location so I checked them out. They were quick and very friendly. I will definitely go back to this location if I need assistance again read more

$5 flat rate service charge. Also, Shakush was rude. Print elsewhere and avoid being charged by ups

I was met with instant hostility and treated with contempt the second I walked in the door. It was hurtful and degrading, and also I wasn't actually getting helped. So I left. As an experiment, I went to a nearby UPS and asked the exact same question. No problem, we discussed my options and I got to a solution. So I know it's not me. I feel sorry for the bad day / life this lady is having, but not sorry enough to not post this review. read more

Thanks to the lady assisting me that understood the importance of me bringing my own tape. LOL. I was in and out in literally 5 minutes. Needed to return a package and was greeted upon entrance and assisted immediately. I've never experienced such speedy service EVER! (at other locations vs this location). Such nice people! This will be my go-to place from now on. Metered street parking so make sure you're prepared to pay for parking. read more

This is the WORST UPS store I have even to. The young Latina behind the counter was beyond condescending and aggressive for no reason.

Traveling from out of town and had limited options for print/notary service. Was charged 10x the price that they quoted me for print services. The "customer service" rep Susana was rude and unprofessional. I simply asked a question regarding why she quoted me .5 and then charged me .55 per page and she brusquely said "I already told you twice." The notary didn't explain anything and again, the pricing was unclear. Susana needs retraining and attitude adjustment. After reading the other reviews, it's a wonder this place is still in business. I use the UPS store frequently and was disappointed to receive this level of service. Hopefully I never have to go back again. Also, .55 per page to print is exorbitant. read more

Many thanks, UPS Store!! You guys are awesome! So, it's the Holidays (and I don't know about you, but they just seemed to sneak up on me this year). Oh Mylanta...Christmas is next week. Holy goodness! I needed to mail a package to my god kids asap. It's their Christmas presents, and would hate to disappoint these twin 5-year olds and their 3-year old brother! They have to open their gifts on Christmas Day, right?!? Dreading going to the post office, I opted instead to hit up the UPS Store. This was my first time ever shipping a Christmas package via UPS (crazy, no?) So, I walked in yesterday afternoon at 2pm and was shocked to discover no lines. *Yes, you read correctly, NO LINES!* I was also surprised to see more employees than customers. At first I thought this was a dream, but infact, it wasn't! Awesomeness!! I had two friendly and helpful people UPS staffers. Think one of them was a newbie as he asked several questions regarding my shipment to the other, but whateves. Delivery of the ground shipped package (where I can track online) should be within 2 days (barring any weather or other delays), so the kiddies can open their presents on Christmas Day! Yipee! So, 5 minutes and $11 later, I walked out of the UPS Store a very happy lady! Tis the season to be jolly!!! read more

The worst UPS store I've ever been to with the rudest staff - especially the Hispanic lady who works there everyday. She yells at every customer. For example, someone was standing next to the door because of the long line so it caused the door alert to keep ringing. Instead of telling the customer nicely, she yelled at the individual calling him stupid and demanding that they move aside. Another time, she lost it because someone put the box in the wrong place. It's truly sad to see some people treat others this way with absolutely no understanding and patience for the fellow human being. And sad to see a reputable business suffer from irresponsible staff like this. To re-iterate, the poor experience stems from the lady who works there. Not UPS or the guy who also works there too - he's actually very nice. read more

On a Saturday morning, I made a stop here to drop off a package. I was 10 minutes early prior to opening waiting out front and the doors opened 10 minutes late past their posted business hours. It could've been worse and luckily I was not short on time. I've only found street parking out front. There maybe more, but didn't have luck finding any alternatives. The cashier was very prompt on assisting. She took my package and that was that. Other than them being late, this is a pretty good UPS Store. read more

While I have used this location a bunch of times for pre-paid label Amazon returns, I tried having them pack and ship an item. It was a mistake because I paid a huge amount of money to 'fragile-pack' a rolling suitcase and as far as the tracking number is concerned it hasn't left their location but they said it went out and my best recourse was to simply call the 800 number and open a claim. No offers to help in any way and basically skirted the ownership of the situation. Guess I will have to pack my items personally and not expect any customer care. read more

Very nice and friendly staff. Outrageously expensive pricing--charging $7 each for a 14x14x14 box. Worth going elsewhere if you're looking to buy or send anything; totally fine if you're just picking up a wayward Amazon delivery or dropping off a return. read more

They quoted me over $23 just to pack a small box, when the item value was $30. So I say I buy the box, and pack myself, but they wouldn't even give me a tape; I would have to buy it myself. And then, I used their computer to print the label. It was Windows NT (super out of date and difficult to use), and I even got a mental breakdown after using that shit. It wasn't free, I wasn't clear about the price, but I think it would be around $2/$3 (use + print). And then in my bank account, $20 was held by UPS. What the hell? Hope I get it back. Worst experience. read more

I've had some of my most unpleasant experiences with UPS at this UPS store because of the front desk clerk, Carmen Ramirez. I've visited this store on multiple occasions and have somehow always run into her. The first time I was returning an Amazon package and she yelled at people in line to step back because it was triggering the door senor. Yelled. Another time I came to send a package. Rather than ask what I was in for, she screamed at me to go print out a return label before coming. Screamed. I set the box down to let her know that I wanted to send the package somewhere and do that I did not already have a label set up. She shrieked as if I had said something that was a personal affront and demanded that I move my box as she was cleaning the counter (no evidence of this). Honestly fearful that my package may not be lost....These encounters are simply unacceptable for the UPS brand and I certainly will not be returning to this specific location. Highly recommend all to avoid because of Carmen Ramirez. read more

Fantastic service. Easy parking at the curb, my document was notarized in minutes, and I shipped it off here too. Conrad the clerk could not have been more friendly and helpful. read more

We shipped a glass vacuum chamber to an individual in Wisconsin. When it arrived, it was broken. We immediately filed an insurance claim. It took UPS five weeks to process the claim, and it was unnecessarily time consuming for us. By that time, the package had been moved to Minnesota (to the original owner), and the receiver (in Wisconsin) had to drive for two hours to retrieve it, so he could have it at the original location for examination. UPS picked up the package (for examination) in Wisconsin and denied the claim, but never let us know. They shipped it all the way back to Oakland, then called us to say that it was denied. I give them one star, not because a package was broken, but because they shipped a broken package across the country without reason, and feel this is an injustice to the environment. read more

I needed a document notarized, and I'm so happy I found UPS. All the other notaries around my area wouldn't pick up the phone! I was in and out in less than 5min. Jeremy was super friendly and efficient . $10 per signature. Xoxo, LPA read more

I have the item I need to return. It's in the box it came in last week. And I even have a prepaid shipping label. Should be a no-brainer, right? My old UPS Store in DC - Columbia Heights - would have me email the shipping label to them when I dropped the box off. Boom. Done. Deuces. At this joint, they want to charge you $2 to email them the label, some small handful of change to print it, and then they want to sell you an additional box and packing tape because - of course - the box the mis-sized shoes arrived in last week simply isn't shippable via UPS (this week?). This store is much more interested in cashing in on its uptown location to nickel-and-dime you than they are in quick, easy customer interactions. read more

Preface-I used this specifically to send a package. The post office was already closed & I was heading to the airport. Aka, desperate? :( So... Hippie/hipster/who knows/cares wanna be chick behind the counter tells me that my lil box to Hawaii will cost $66! Me: what are my other alternatives? HHWKC chick: well you can do USPS but I can't give you any proof that your sending it. Me: Odd?? how is that possible? Her: it's just like you dropping it off in a mail box but you pay us the postage. Me: Wha, what?? How exactly does that work? Her: the postman comes and gets it. Me: ugh, Really? Ok, i need to send it out. Finale....it's been almost three weeks, still not arrived!! WTF? So has the wanna be chick kept it for herself?? DO NOT use them for anything other than UPS. they are a franchise store and only pay for the license of UPS. They do not do any justice to the USPS, they shouldn't be allowed to "facilitate" for them. It's like they gauge you with ups prices and if you choose USPS, your package goes mysteriously missing?. Message to the wanna be chick, karma is a bitch & if you are deserved, it'll punch you in the face. read more

So I won something and had to get the form for the release notarized much to my dismay, especially because it was due back to the company while I away on my business trip. This one isn't too far from my office, so I was able to quickly head over during lunch and get this thing notarized. Quick and easy, $10 per signature. read more
