I'm having a really hard time understanding the negative feedback on this store. This UPS Store is a small UPS service center in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. They don't carry a huge variety of items to buy, and I think that's the point. The staff member, Rowell, was friendly and polite. He allowed me to use a hand truck to move an 80lbs package from my car to the UPS store, and helped me print the return label by emailing the store's email address. I had two packages delivered and they were delivered to another home. Thankfully a new neighbor brought them over to me. I understand mistakes happen, but when I called their number on their website - 1-800-PICKUPS and talked to a representative it went more downhill!. It was very hard to understand her AND she couldn't understand me. Kept telling me to call the companies that sent out the product. I told her that isn't the problem, it is with the employee from UPS who delivered it to incorrect address. After several minutes going back and forth - repeating myself, I asked to speak to a supervisor! Her response, I'm to call back and let the next person handle my complaint! WHAT!!!???? I wish I had a choice which companies deliver the product. I am reporting to the companies that use UPS. Also, I tried to file a complaint on-line and what a run around trying to do a paper trail. One thing to note about this UPS location is that there's only street parking available. However, I usually find a spot easily when it's not during peak times.The real highlight of this UPS store is the staff. They are incredibly friendly and helpful. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and a willingness to assist with my shipping needs. They were efficient in processing my packages and answered all my questions patiently. Recently I attempted to drop off an Amazon return. I thought that all I had to do was bring the item and it would be wrapped. The man working there rudely asked me where my box was when I walked in and I said, "Don't you guys handle that?" He then scanned the QR code and told me to "read the image." The rude and condescending behavior began with the staff here. I wish that was the end of it. I asked him if he was really going to make me go home and come back bit#$#y. He sneered and said yes. I said fine ... and turned to leave. He then said, "You are a bitch anyway." I turned back around and asked him if he really called a customer a bitch? He confirmed he did. I asked him what his name was - he refused to give it. He looked to be late 20s/early 30s. I told him I'd be calling management and then suddenly it was just a joke. Can't I take a joke? I let him know that calling a woman a bitch isn't a joke in any way and that it was clear he was trying to back peddle. Asked him again for his name - told no. Told him I hoped he liked having a job - not many employers like having staff that swears at customers and demeans them. I went home, re-did the return, and brought the package back in the box I received it in. Upon returning, the staff member refused to give me service. So I received rude service off the bat (yes, I returned the attitude) and then was discriminated against. Bitch is a derogatory slur for women. In the state of Indiana it is against the law for an individual to be denied access or to receive poor service or lesser quality accommodations because of his or her race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, and disability. Guess what happened when I contacted the store via email? Response from someone who didn't sign their name and a serious lack of understanding of the seriousness of this. Asian male worker is very rude and disrespectful he will take the people behind you first because he doesn't want to deal with you, then will proceed to be rude and when you said something about it he becomes defensive and blames you. If you didn't want to come to work to help people you didn't have to don't take it out on people when they are simply asking a question. same guys gave me the wrong package and once i left i noticed and had to go back, did he appologize absolutely not he actually blamed me yet again and said he handed me the name i gave him which again incorrect never verified first and last name just first. The continuing saga of UPS's failure to deliver and even really acknowlege that they lost the package continues. The package I shipped using UPS services was insured through UPS as well and even that was insufficient for them to acknowledge the fact they lost it. UPS isn't to be trusted in my humble opinion. That they would completely stiff a customer and even deny the insurance coverage I bought from them was null and void speaks volumes as to their commitment to customer service. FedEx will get all my shipping business in the future and I would recommend anyone who reads this review drives right by the UPS store and chooses another shipping company. read more

I came here on a Monday around 5pm (aka after work rush). There was one person at the store and there were serval people in front of me in line. The worker was extremely good at what she does, knew all aspects of the job, and was working with two customers at one time, at all times. I've used this store twice (about a year a part) and both times my package had issues. This time they lost the package. The manager was rude and dismissive. He said the lost package is UPS's fault not theirs. He blamed it on the UPS driver and was not willing to take any accountability or action to help find the package. UPS should be concerned about the impact this store has on their reputation. The owner should be concerned about lost revenue. I've told at least 12 people who've mentioned shipping something not to use the UPS Store on College Mall Road. read more

I go here all the time for normal shipping jobs and everything is fine, but today I went in to ship a package to Canada and the woman working there told me she literally did not know how to do that, but her manager might know how to do it. I said great and asked where the manager was and she said, "I'm not sure, he's actually really late to work today, but you can wait!" I waited for 10 minutes before I realized there was a FedEx down the street. First question I asked when I entered FedEx? Do you know how to ship packages internationally. Very efficient store. I got my work done literally in 5 minutes. I didn't even have to pay for parking! I have been getting most of my important mail stuff done here. I feel it's a small store, meaning not having to deal with lines. The customer surface is excellent and they do their best to answer all your questions. Visited this store yesterday to ship an item that was PREPAID by the company Chairish. This was my first time using the Corporate Retail Solutions prepaid service offered by Chairish. I mentioned to the employee that I had an item to be shipped using the CRS prepayment, which includes packaging and shipping.Which is basically where you can drop an item to UPS, they pack and ship it with no out of pocket payment due at drop off. The company reimburses the ups store. Anywho, the rep servicing me advised there was no such thing and that I would need to pay for the packaging costs of $11. I kept reiterating to him the service I had. And then I asked him, ok what exactly would you need me to provide you to know that this payment is covered by a reimbursement that was prearranged. He said I'd need actual money. It was such an aggravating experience. I finally found actual instructions online for me to relay to him and code and system for him to use to NOT charge me to packing and shipping the item. And he was very familiar with the procedure as he asked me no follow up question when I told him to use the CMS? system etc. It was like he was withholding the information from me. Thankfully I found the instructions to provide HIM to do HIS job. But it wasnt a pleasant experience. Won't be going back. read more

I HIGHLY recommend the services at this UPS Store. Any business that makes me create a Yelp account so I can write them a raving review is worthy of an applause. I was visiting Indy on business and needed some last-minute printing done. The employees were so helpful! My documents were on a flash drive and when we pulled it up on the computer in the back, the formatting was all messed up and they let me work on it until it was ready to go to print. We printed it out, my documents looked great, and I was out of there in no time! The next day, an event arose and I was in need an even larger printing order but had no time to run over there again and wait for it to print. I tried submitting an order online via the UPS website but it would't process it because there wasn't enough notice. I emailed the store directly, they remembered me and told me it was not going to be a problem. I emailed them my order and it was ready for me as soon as I walked through the door. Went to this store to get a passport sent to England A.S.A.P (which weighs next to nothing), they told me it would be $110 for 4 day delivery with no guarantee that it would arrive by then. I went to Fed Ex who told me they could do it for $57 with a 2 day guarantee. Shop around before using UPS!!! read more

My organization used this store for copies for a conference at the hotel across the street in June 2013. They were not delivered on time. If timeliness is important to you, I would not recommend this shop. As background, I had indicated that they were needed by Friday or Saturday in both the request for a quote and the copy order; however, they were delivered Monday morning. I provided the originals according to the deadline they provided. My primary contact had been Branden, and then store manager Kevin Martin. At the conference, this delay severely set us back and impacted the preparation for and staffing of our event.
