An atrocious packing job. I purchased a piece of art at auction -- a painting on cardboard, so obviously potentially fragile. Based on experiences with other UPS stores, and based on the shipping price I paid, I assumed the painting would be covered in bubble wrap and shipped in a box. Wrong. It was covered in a single piece of brown wrapping paper and packed in a flimsy cardboard envelope. Of course, this got severely bent during shipping. When I contacted this store, their form reply told me to submit a claim with UPS, which I did. UPS stated that the "packaging did not meet UPS standards," but for some reason rejected the claim. I contacted this store again, which sent me along to a UPS number where no one ever picks up the phone or responds to voicemails. All I feel I can really do now is warn others not to use this UPS store. They will overcharge for packing and shipping that even UPS itself says is substandard. read more

Relieved by items in pieces from Kodner Auctions as delivered by UPS Store #0288. The pieces were poorly and inadequately packaged at a premium price. After waiting a few days, I asked for an update and received an ALL CAPS response that I would have to wait and I would be sent tracking information. That was the last I heard until I was informed that my package had been delivered while I was away and ended up in a Michael's craft store for a week. With any prior notice, I would have arranged for an alternative delivery. Upon further review, I discovered the piece was partially broken PRIOR to shipping without mention of it. I personally had a very good experience. The rep that helped me was kind and attentive, however, I have to agree with the previous poster that the atmosphere is definitely different than what I'm used to from this location. I love this UPS and usually the entire staff is so friendly and helpful, but it was very upsetting to witness how one of the reps was being very dismissive of an older woman who didn't understand the prices. I get that the young rep was frustrated but instead of asking for management's assistance, she just unilaterally ended the conversation by abruptly sitting down, head down, and start to play on her cell phone. This is in front of customers and while the older woman was still talking to her. I felt like I had to ask for someone else to help and the young lady began arguing with me and raising her voice. Another rep came to calm her down (although this was not a contentious situation), leading me to believe this may not be uncommon behavior for her. Again, I'm sure she was frustrated but perhaps more customer service training for the staff would be helpful, especially when serving long standing members of this community. read more

When I arrived, I handed my prepaid package to the associate, expecting it to be scanned as usual. Instead, he told me I had to print the label myself--which I've never been asked to do at any other UPS store. I asked if I could use their printer, and he told me it was down.To make matters worse, about two hours later, one of my friends went to the same location with a similar request--and he received full service without any issue. He happens to be white. The stark contrast in how we were treated was upsetting, and I couldn't ignore the possibility of bias. It's unacceptable to experience this kind of inconsistency, especially when basic customer service is supposed to be fair and equal. Consistency and professionalism should be a standard across all UPS stores, and sadly, this location fell short. If your printer is down and you can't help customers print labels, at the very least offer a solution or a workaround. And above all, treat everyone with equal courtesy and respect. read more

Quick in and out. Package drop off or pick up. The line moved super fast so they have people who know what they are doing. They can package it for you or you can bring it already done. I was grateful for the speed and time it took to get everything done. Their prices have become very competitive when it comes to sending out packages. They are really affordable. read more

This place costed me a business deal. The young girl at the front desk told me UPS isn't allowed to print color picture ID's. I needed these copies printed by a certain time and was counting on UPS as I did many times before. I will never go to this UPS store location again, 3389 Sheridan Street. Hollywood, FL. Yesterday I needed to send off a 100 pound package, but as I could not find parking close to their front door, I asked the girl inside if I could borrow their hand truck to bring the package in. She informed me that they didn't have one. (A package company does not have a hand truck, seriously.) She was very nice and said I could drive around, in back of the building close to their back door, and said she could scan it there and bring it in through that door. She even was waiting outside and showed me where to park. After parking, and as I was getting the box out of my car, the manager told the associate something, brought her inside and closed the door. I waited for a little time, thinking they were busy, but nothing happened. I knocked on the door but nothing. I knocked on the door again and the manager finally open the door to quickly say I needed to go through the front door. As I was trying to explain the situation he just repeated two more times "front door, front door", and slammed the door in my face. I have managed many retail stores, and trained many store managers, but I have never witnessed someone so arrogant, and such an a_ _hole as this manager. If any of my managers, or associates, acted like to our clientele and customers, I would fire them on the spot. I always go out of my way give the BEST customer service I possibly can, and teach this to all of my managers and employees. This guy went to lengths to make sure his customer was NOT in anyway way going to be happy. I feel sorry for the associates that work under his arrogant attitude. Shipped out a $1250 speaker and mentioned MULTIPLE times how fragile it was and for them to take care of it yet somehow they STILL managed to break my speaker. And the worst part is after 2 and a half months back and forth when they claimed they would compensate me they ended up reversing on their decision and saying they won't pay me anything. Every time I come to this UPS Store location there is always something they are telling me they can't do. Today the CSA said he can't take my USPS packages because the post office is closed and they will not be coming today. So, they aren't accepting drop offs. I have NEVER been told this before at any location, even IF the post office was closed that day! However, the post office isn't closed at all! I saw many mail carriers in the area, I drove to the nearest post office and checked as well. If you don't want to accept the packages because of whatever reason, just say that! But don't lie!!!! I printed a label from my business account and went to this store to pack it into a medium sized overnight box but this store does not have UPS supplies. Instead they charge you an exorbitant amount of money to "pack" your package into a box. The salesgirl dropped my package on the counter and the manager Brian was rude and did not communicate well. He also was bad mouthing me to one of his colleagues in the back room. Completely unprofessional and do not support UPS supplies. I highly suggest you find another UPS location to use. They never voluntered their names you must ask for it. I was given 4 different names over the phone and when i picked up my package the person behind the counter said there were only 2 employees. I needed a package sent to Greece. I knew UPS could deliver it. When I came in a young man assisted me with the package (12#'s) I thought that was a nice thing to have someone do as I am much older and don't walk to well. Anyway, he and the store manager quickly took care of what was needed and off I went. It turned out the package was refused in Greece and was to be sent back here in the USA. It costed me $3.00 for a print out for one page. Thankfully they had this option because it's so much easier and cheaper to pay the $3.00 than buy a printer and ink. Needed to mail something while traveling through the area. Website stated the store opened at 7am. I went out of my way and arrived at the store. There was an "Open" sign in the window.
