TLDR : If you told me I had 5 minutes left to live, I'd ask you to drop me off here because it takes an eternity to get your label scanned. If you're looking to do a quick drop off a package to UPS for any reason whether it's shipping across the country or for an Amazon return, let me just tell you right now this is not the location to go to. As they have it, the lines don't start at the counter the line start in the middle to back end of the store so the lines are always overpouring outside of the store resulting in people waiting in the street or on the side, blocking H&R Block . The service is something else, they make you feel almost incompetent for trying to ship a package and question your address to make you feel as if you are now gaslighted. The outrageous requirement to purchase a whole roll of tape from their overpriced sectional is mind-boggling. This is the only location I know of an all of UPS that requires you to purchase a roll of tape for just a strip in order to seal your package. I have never experienced any other location and let me tell you it just reflects poorly on the management style by doing so. In my opinion, there should be two lines while at at this location. One line for all scanning goes to ensure that everyone gets their receipt because as the review left by someone similar, they've had multiple packages be stolen and this UPS will not check the cameras or give you an excuse as to why they cannot. The other line strictly for people who are looking to send out a package. This would really streamline the service and would actually make more people feel comfortable coming here. read more

Snotty environment ... however in their defense maybe they're all over worked cuz they're handling overflow from other local closings. Very little parking available, but again, UPS is generally a drop-off spot but due to the overflow, and long lines, customers are parking crazy ways in the alley. read more

We were in Dearborn, cleaning the house of a deceased friend. We had 12 boxes of shredding, and four majorly large items to ship. Stephanie was beyond helpful. The store was clean. The employees were friendly. And we felt as if we were working with best friends in this store. They made a difficult task so much easier. And the other customers helped us. Wow! Efficient, especially with how many people were in the store. However my only issue was with the lack of professionalism. One worker was shouting about how stupid people are on the phones calling with questions. She was complaining very loudly about the amount of business they had today (seems like a weird thing to complain about). I totally understand that that shouldn't affect the whole store. However when I was next I was called up to what seemed to be the manager. Then it all became clear, she herself was incredibly rude, even complained to another customer who was waiting on something with a sarcastic, "well this guy has a ton of stuff to return, sorry." I knew they were busy and seemed overworked, so I tried to be cheerful, kind, and concise and this is the way they treated me. No problem if you'd like to do these things in a job behind the scenes. But your job is to work with people. So acting professional is a must. This crew needs some help with that. read more

Email I sent to the CEO of UPS, Carol Tomé: Good Evening Ms. Tomé, I hope this email finds you well. I am contacting you regarding an incident that occurred at the Dearborn Heights, MI location. I was at the Dearborn Heights, MI UPS store today to drop off pre-paid packages. It was 4:55 pm and the store closes at 5 pm. When I arrived, several people were standing outside as the doors had been locked. One lady said she was there for several minutes and the store manager, Stephanie Kolblcz, would not let her in to drop off her prepaid packages. None of us at the door needed any services from UPS. Stephanie finally came to the door and said she wasn't taking anymore people. One of the ladies explained that we just needed to drop off our packages. She said she didn't care and she wasn't taking anymore customers. There was a cart for prepaid packages to the right of me and I literally just had to set our packages on it and leave. I said that I was calling corporate because you can't lock the doors before the store actually closes. She pushed my packages back to me, and said, "Call corporate, I'm not accepting your packages". She took everyone else's packages standing behind me except for mine. The situation verbally escalated as she yelled at me to get to the store sooner and I told her she was wrong and she was causing a problem when there didn't need to be one. I was able to open the door after someone left to put my packages on the cart. She said she's not shipping them. I explained we were all there before it closed and she didn't have that right. I already paid for this postage. She said she was calling the cops because I put my packages inside. There was no reason for her to take that action and I believe she did that because I am a black woman and she thought that it would scare me. I waited for the police. They came and I explained the situation to them. One of the officers said he has had previous calls at this location and has even had a problem with her himself. He suggested that I use FedEx. Another officer asked Stephanie to accept my packages and she refused. He went in and retrieved my packages for me. I am DISGUSTED at how this "manager" treated all of us customers. To call the cops was unnecessary as she knew she was wrong for locking that door ten minutes or more before the store closed (there were people already waiting outside when I arrived at 4:55). I am fully prepared to take this to the top including to my local news media and social media. I've never been treated in such a manner and I've never had the cops called on me. I told her that I was calling corporate and she refused to mail my packages. That is the gist of it. This woman is certainly not management material. I have been a customer supervisor as well and have never acted in such a manner. I ask that this incident be investigated and that Ms. Kolblcz is terminated as she is not worthy to work at UPS. I will add that I was not cited because the officers asked customers what happened and they advised that Ms. Kolblcz was in the wrong for locking the doors and not allowing us to drop off our prepaid packages. I would like a call back as I have not been able to speak with anyone due to hold times. I consider this an urgent matter and am prepared to contact my local media and advise others of the incident as I am also a small business owner. read more

I do not recommend going here, drive a mile out of your area because these mean women go through everything you packed. But when I asked do you need me to stay as tgey fully complete their inspection, they say no. Either way they are overpriced for the simple fact that they are branched out from corporate, so their rates to vary and they can refuse what they like based on their discretion. Little known secret: The shipping prices quoted at UPS.com are not the same as what independently owned UPS Stores charge! I had someone ship me something from this store that was quoted at ups.com at around $42 - around the same as what USPS quoted. The store charged about $63.62 - almost 50% more! I called the store, spoke with the manager (Bill Fortuna), who claimed that he doesn't know what's going on and he just charges what the computer tells him to charge and if I have any problems I should call UPS. So I did. What UPS said is, essentially, the independently-owned UPS Stores are free to charge whatever they want. You think Bill Fortuna knows this? Of course he does. I told UPS that if I didn't get the difference back, I would contact the state Attorney General and the BBB. They are sending me a check for the difference. I am sticking to my part of the agreement and won't contact the AG or BBB, but I didn't say that I wouldn't write a scathing review on Yelp. Be aware. What UPS.com quotes is almost completely meaningless when you go to a UPS Store. Why call it a UPS Store if prices quoted at UPS.com are invalid? You all can decide if that is deceptive. If UPS.com had quoted me $63.62, would I have gone to the local UPS Store or the local USPS location? You know the answer. read more

Absolutely horrible service from owner at the Dearborn Heights UPS. My daughters dropped off their manuscripts a couple days ago and we're told they would be done the next day. Two days later we went in there to pick them up and they weren't done. I explained we dropped them off two days and and they needed them for rehearsal today. I said I've had them done at another UPS store and they had them done in 20 minutes. I'm in retail so I understand the staffing issues and work load. Two days later and she has an attitude with me cause I'm questioning why. She didn't offer to finish them tonight or say I'm sorry but I can get them done by...... She said you can have them back and take them somewhere else. I explained they need them tonight and you've already had them for two days, I'll wait. Instead, she gives me only back one and I had to go in again and get other. Got the second one back finally....after she claims there was only one. I was astonished to find it she was the owner of the store. I called the Westland UPS and explained the situation, they weren't surprised. I will never use that store again even though it's closer. Westland store was absolutely wonderful and the manuscripts were done in an hour. read more

So rude!! I walked in & stood in line. Before it was even my turn, the girl didn't say "hello" or "may I help you?" She saw the notice in my hand and immediately said I had to call the 800 number. Before I could even say anything about the notice. The other 2 chimed in to tell me they didn't have my package before they even looked! I tried to explain the driver left a notice that only said "office" or that I tracked it online to find out what "office." Then I showed them online that the location said Dearborn heights. Long story short, they were not interested in assisting me at all. No one said sorry or thanks for coming in, dog kiss my foot, nothing. DON'T GO TO THIS BUSINESS. They act like they are doing you a huge favor by taking your money. Little blond girl who was absolutely clueless about anything to do with packing, etc. "helped" me. Last time another person packed my item in front of me. She said she can't when there are people in line. What?? Never asked me if I wanted insurance or signature confirmation. Both women in there looked like they hated being there. I will go to the one on Michigan Avenue from now on. Can't be any worse.
