Among a California notary public's various roles, one is to serve as an officer that authenticates the signing of important legal documents. A notary is simply an impartial witness to the taking of acknowledgements and/or affidavits, the signing of documents and administering oaths. Im an attorney duly licensed within the state of California. I requested the notary agent at this location who was working Friday at around 3:45PM to notarize a settlement agreement for my client. He demanded my client be able to speak and communicate with him although my client is Spanish-speaking. A notary agent authenticates a signature. S/he has no business authenticating the underlying document that is void of any oath. I've never, in my years of practice, encountered a notary agent as arrogant or entitled. Perhaps he is uneducated about the law. Nonetheless, after advising him, he remained firm in his stance. I would steer clear of this particular notary agent, as he will be unaware of his role in the transaction. read more

I feel bad leaving one star because not all the employees are rude. However, most of the times I've walked in, there is the same older lady, who might be the manager... not sure, but she treats everyone with a bossy negative attitude, including other UPS workers and customers. I had to send a Star Wars lightsaber to Texas, because is glass and long and it needed to be packed by the "experts" to ensure the toy can make it safe and in one peace, right? I paid without complaining or questioning the price to ship it. Paid insurance up to $200. The off market price without being customized is 199.00 but it was customized inside of Disneyland so the price is higher. Well, guess what? It disappeared MAGICALLY somewhere between the store and the carrier. NO ONE APOLOGIZED and never took responsibility for it. TheY keep blaming the driver, UPS customer service blames the store because even thought a tracking number and everything was generated by the store the driver that picks the packages never received it from the store. WHO KNOWS. The store employees keep repeating it was picked. Anyway, this review is a little bit late because this happened couple of months ago and still nothing has been resolved. Is not only about the toy itself is the magic being customized in Disneyland from a kid on his birthday, an 11 year old kid that loves Star Wars and was waiting for his toy. That, that is priceless. We thought was safer to ship it instead of carrying in the plane, WRONG!! Hope the person who STOLE IT, enjoys it and hopefully karma pays back. Never EVER AGAIN using this store or UPS. FedEx, DHL and even USPS are our options from now on. read more

I have always had a good experience here. The store is small but stocked with everything you need. I have never had a long wait and everyone I have encountered who works here has been pleasant and patient. The only possible negative is parking. PCH is busy and it can be a challenge especially during prime business hours and summer. There may be parking out behind the store, I haven't checked. read more

For the last 7 years my families daily mail has been delivered to this UPS store. All the people working here are professional and joyful. When our motor home trips took us far from home for months at a time, Pat and her wonderful crew would forward our mail to us with no problem. Tacky and disheartening. I had to drop off my tax documents to my representative who's box is at this location. I was totally dismayed when I asked the UPS gentleman for a piece of scotch tape to seal the envelope. He stated I would need to pay for it. When I asked why, he said because they have to pay for it. I was completely dumbfounded that he'd have no client relation skills to simply extend a very small courtesy. I thought to myself, what is the cost of an inch of scotch tape these days? Would he like me to put down a quarter or two? I called a day or two after to ask for his name, only to be put on hold multiple times without being given the information asked, eventually I chose to hang up after waiting for too long on the line. Sad this is how the local UPS store in Corona Del Mar operates their customer service. I'll do all I can not to return to this particular outfit. read more

First time to this store. I had boxes and boxes, I needed to figure out how to ship them to myself in Seattle. For some reason there were a lot of people coming in right as the store opened,there was only one young lady working. Daniela. I was very impressed with her demeanor and attitude, she was able to take care of everyone, and still be courteous and helpful. I hope the owner of this UPS Store is reading this review as I think your employees are trying to collect fees for themselves directly from the customer bypassing you (unless this is your policy). I went to this location to return an Amazon purchase. I brought the original box with the item and the return label. I didn't close the box since I wasn't sure if they wanted to check it and the employee (30's white woman) said it would cost $.50 for the tape it would require to seal the box. I said that's weird since Amazon usually will even provide the box to send the return so why would I need to pay for "tape" to seal the box. I paid the $.50 since it was nominal fee but I think she pocketed it so if she is doing this to each customer, she could collect quite the payday! This needs to be looked at and addressed. I have notified Amazon of this as well. read more

I have been using this UPS for 5 years. It's like my own personal email and printing and scanning super enter. The prices are great, the staff so sweet and accommodating. They have notarized things for me, helped me through all sorts of stressful business transactions and they have always been great! I highly recommend supporting this local business. I'm lucky I can walk here, but before you go to the big fed-ex over on Newport center drive (although they are open late which is good after the UPS store closes. Mark. Stop talking. You know nothing of what you talk about. I'm embarrassed for you. Federal law mandates you ship through a common carrier for handgun shipment if you are a nonlicensee. I don't need some Wikiprofessional to tell me the law, nor do I need some special licensing to do what is perfectly legal. The ATF and Congress have authority here. Not you. California law is silent on the matter for out of state shipments, and thus federal law applies here (interstate matter). You know nothing about the law, and you once again are showing the world why you earned ONE STAR. Edit to add: Again, I appreciate how you casually ignored that this was an OUT OF STATE shipment, and if you bothered to ask, it was to a LICENSEE. CA law, which you cited, has no applicability here. I can do this all day if you want to keep looking stupid. From the ATF themselves: A nonlicensee [read: normal Joe] may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier [read: private mail agency] must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm and requires obtaining written acknowledgement of receipt. Maybe she chose to save money and pack the boxes herself (first mistake). Did not know the value of the items? Anyone with Internet access can determine a value to place on fragile glass or ceramic items (second mistake), not to mention being in Newport Beach which has many top-end stores and even better antique vendors, always helpful when one inquires as to the value of art objects. The boxes were in horrible condition yet you accepted the delivery? (third mistake) You paid to ship boxes and the boxes arrived? Why ask for a refund, THEY ARRIVED. If improperly packed by you, but arrived with your valuable and precious un-insured contents shattered, its sad and too bad. Should have let the professionals do their job. I believe Leanne is perhaps channeling her grief over the loss of a beloved family member into an anger directed at the closest target. read more

I have been using this UPS store for many years. I paid my rental fee annually because I did not go in on a monthly basis. I have not been in there over the past two months due to COVID. I was not concerned because my rental is due annually . Today I received a call that my mail was returned to the sender. When I called the UPS Store today to check in, they did not even have me in the system. They gave my box to someone else and said that I abandoned my box because I was 30 days late. I never received a phone call or a message on my phone. I even checked my phone bill to see if I missed a call.l from them. The lady was completely rude and said I abandoned my mail box. This is very strange and sad that during COViD they would be so quick within 30 days to eliminate an account and get rid of your mail. Like I said I have been with them for so many years and never had an issue or late payment. Before considering this place, I would check other places because if you are one who can not go in on a regular basis you may come to pick up your mail and it will be gone. They could of even called me to get my credit card on file but that was not even done. read more

As another reviewer said, there are other 3rd party mailboxes closer to us, but it is worth our time to do business here. That is how good this location is. The people behind the counter are all very friendly and very good at their jobs - a rare double win. It makes a huge difference in your day when a business hires nice, smart people and then provides them with great training and a meaningful measure of autonomy. We have tried many 3rd party mailboxes over the years, and most were only passable. Always professional, cheerful, knowledgable, a pleasure to do business with! Once I witnessed another customer behave in a very mean and denegrating way to the people working. This woman (customer) was terrible and it really shook me up! But the CDM UPS Store people were perfect handling her, and after she left, they smiled and laughed, complimented ME by saying that nice customers like me evened out the bad ones, and raced to get my dog a milkbone. My biggest pet peeve is businesses not adhering to their posted hours on yelp and on their storefront. This is especially important for a store that provides business services. This UPS store lists their hours as 8:30am - 6:30pm on Wednesdays both on Yelp and on their posted hours sign by the front entrance. I realize things happen and an employee might not make it in on time, but management needs to make sure here is someone to open up on time for those clients relying on your store hours. The opening clerk ran up to the door at 8:35am, from up the street. He wasn't even in the building. I don't expect the doors to be open early, but they should be open on time. read more
