They refused to ship my item in a box that I provided even though it met all UPS packaging rules. Then they offered to put it inside another box for an absolutely outrageous packaging fee twice the cost of shipping the item itself. Rip off! read more

Evidently independently owned and the greedy owner wants to overcharge for a service that really should be included in the price to ship something. Great value, only $25 to ship a fairly large box to Chicago. Fast, friendly service. Clean space. Well-stocked. Plenty of parking. I'll definitely return to this location! Of the approximate 100 times that I've been to the UPS store in Hyde Park, I finally ran into an awful worker: a manager by the name of Michael "Deel". He didn't want to give me his last name, so I've provided what he gave me. He was rude, unhelpful, did not help me solve the problem, and told me to 'calm down' as I sought clarity about my options. This is not at all the customer service that I'm used to or expect from UPS. This was a simple Amazon return. That's it. He made me buy tape from him to wrap my tires and offered no help whatsoever. He did, however, talk slick to me under loudly as I labored to solve the problem. His coworker Bridgette was helpful. Michael was not. He shouldn't even be employed by UPS much less a manager there. Before today, I've had many helpful, wonderful outings at this store. What happened? Avoid Michael at all costs. read more

Do anything you can to avoid UPS Store #2363. The "owner" Pattie is one stone cold individual and has a real attitude problem. Not good customer service qualities, I don't want to get into the particulars but after a second visit I was thrown out of the store and was told she would call the police. Her hair-brained co worker looked for my package on a shelf, it was not there. Prior to my visit, I had called UPS Customer Service Line and was told it was there, having been delivered this morning at 11:42 AM. After being told by Pattie's coworker that it wasn't there (wouldn't look up the tracking number or even leave the counter) he finally asked Pattie if it was in the back, where by God it was. After two visits. I said what do I do now and that's when she went ballistic. A customer behind me said this was par for the course. So I had to leave with my package in front of me on the counter. Unbelievably, horrific customer service. I always thought that UPS was the gold standard in shipping, but after this event I will drive any distance to avoid store 2363. Real charmers here, I wonder how much vetting was done in selecting this person as a franchise owner. Not much. You may want to review this store's ownership. Really not a good situation. Someone in this store reopened our sealed package, removed two personal items - items with no value except to the recipient -although they probably looked like they might have. This small package was dropped off on August 30 around 3 pm. It was next-day UPS, and arrived at it's destination without these two items, but with the bubble wrap that was around them stuffed back in. We have tracked it and have images proving it happened at your store, and want those two personal items back please. They can do you no good. We can call it an accident. This UPS store is known for this kind of thing (see Yelp reviews), so please ask around and get my irreplaceable items back - ask your staff. I know you are not UPS yourself, and have ascertained that nothing happened to the package en route. You might check with whoever would stick an address label on as crooked as it was on this box. read more

First time here. The ladies were not so welcoming. Their demeanor was off and the vibe in the place was not easy to work with. I got done what I needed but I know for sure I'll drive the extra 20 minutes to go to my usual UPS store than to come back here. I also said THANK YOU to the staff right before I walked out and not one person answered back. Not sure what's going on with the professionalism in THIS store but it could use some tremendous work. read more

This store is ABSOLUTE TRASH!!! LIARS & THIEVES!!! RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! First Off- They are a Franchise of UPS they are NOT UPS! They refer you to corporate for corporate to explain they have NO control or authority to enforce UPS POLICIES or PROCEDURES! They refer you back to the store who hears you but doesn't listen. My package was open & contents stolen and then taped back up delivered EMPTY! Google Reviews say this is common for this location and they take no accountability for it. I requested cameras to be pulled, I was told they run a tight ship and doubt it was something their employees would do. My shipping details were changed- I was told it wasn't their problem to call corporate AGAIN! No empathy or compassion- literally disappointing and wrong. Reviews reflect that. Sat on Hold with The UPS Store Headquarters & Customer Relations for 25 minutes to be disconnected. I will continue to on every avenue possible voice this experience- I'm awaiting a call back from my attorney as it's against the law to tamper with MAIL! read more

A five star review..for a UPS Store?!? "But Andrew..how can you give a place like The UPS Store a five star review when you have given such and such wonderfully acclaimed place only four/three/two stars?" Well..you know..made up person asking me questions..when reviewing a place you have to base the review on the specific type of place you're reviewing, and how they do in serving the food..or providing the service..or whatever for that specific place. And as a UPS Store, this store could not have performed better than they did the morning I stopped in. I had to return an item I bought off of Amazon (a terrible turntable with built in speakers..that crapped out after about two weeks of play). There was an option if a printer wasn't readily available to you of sending an email with a code for your local UPS store to scan to send your return back. I took advantage of this option. I packed up my garbage turntable the best I could and headed out to my local UPS store. The second I walked in the door I was greeted, and the person at the counter made an educated guess that I had an Amazon return (I reused an Amazon box to pack my crap item after all). I showed them my scannable code, they scanned it, they took my package, printed out a shipping label, handed me a receipt..and that was that. In and out in less than a minute. Couldn't have asked for a better shipping experience. So yes..when it comes to stores..specifically shipping stores..this location in Rookwood is in my opinion up there with the best of the best. I am a fan of UPS, however, this store was not helpful, in fact, I got a sense if they did not want to do their job. I brought an item in that I was returning from Amazon, all it needed was a self-sealing small box, which you can get anywhere a self serve UPS box is located for free. However, I was told that that for them to do this labor of putting it in the box and sealing would cost $8.00. (mind you, I had the label for the shipping) Then I asked for the box and they suggested that they would charge me for it. I left went down the street got a box at a self server station and shipped it myself for free. SCAM, Stay away from them. read more

Steve and his staff at the UPS Store is super helpful. I took advantage of the holiday special to sign up for a mailbox. Not worrying about being home to receive mail and packages in the age of online shopping is worth the cost of having a mail box here. There are 2 dedicated UPS car standing at the curve for easy drop off and pickup even when the parking lot is full has been very helpful. If you are returning a package for Amazon or another seller, be sure to printer the label before you come as printing will cost you. read more

This shop is always buzzing with a cheerful staff when I visit. Today I needed notary service and Michael did not disappoint by going the extra yard in providing me a chair to sit in in order to sign multiple documents. The store vibe was high and customers were being "cared" for in an anticipatory, efficient manner. Will charge you for everything including a pinch of tape to attach a label. Definitely because their in Hyde Park. Demographic price gauging. Other locations won't charge you for a pinch of tape or to print an email! Save yourself the frustration and go to another location. Ive never seen a shipping company frustrated with shipping. They take Amazon returns way to personal as if the return is coming from their paycheck. Definitely frustrated with Amazon returns. My solution to the manager. Stop taking Amazon returns if your staff is that bent out of shape over shipping returns. Not sure what they are there for if they don't want to ship. Price Gougers. This location thinks it's entertaining to jack up prices as if I'm dumb. I went to drop off for USPS Priority Mail service using a fixed price envelope and the UPS guy tried telling me it was $17.95 to send using USPS but I could send UPS for $11.35. I told him about the fixed price envelope... and that there was no way he was accurate. I took the envelope back and brought it to the USPS and it was $8.25. In the past, I felt like I was getting gouged and this incident confirmed it. Go to another store. I'm filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office. read more

I shipped two several package projects. I provided my own packaging and boxes packed and taped. This location was polite and informative on voice phone, they helped unloading heavy #85 packages by the curb, counter staff was solid and they stored packages at a reasonable price for later shipment even in light of limited storage space. They said they would attach "glass" and "this side up" stickers before shipping. They did not. The framed art work arrived with the glass broken. Front office service does not result in end delivered results. read more

Went in the store to drop off a few things and get something notarized, I was given the wrong information over the phone and when asked for the correct information the lady behind the counter would not give me any information and backhandedly told me that I never called and I was completely wrong. My current apartment has an odd mailing system setup that doesn't exactly involve a mailbox. Having packages sent there is a gamble as the delivery service would require a key to get into the main door or they would need to leave the package in front of the complex on a busy street. That's where UPS stepped in. Their mailbox service made the delivery of my excessive online shopping incredibly convenient. I get an email and text when my package is delivered and I know it will be in a safe location. The staff are always friendly and attentive whenever anyone comes in. Shopping as much as I do, t's truly a great relief knowing that my mail is in a safe location. read more

Worst shipping experience in years. Will never go to this location again. Was sending a prepared package. Couldn't find any wider tape at home. All needed was 2 feet of tape to seal the box. A seemingly store manager offered two options: #1. Go to the aisle, buy an entire roll of tape. or #2. Having him tape the box for $3.00. Yep. You clearly demonstrated your willingness to help customers. I got it. I got it. To make it even worse, his attitude was extremely disgusting. Took option #3 to go to a FedEx office. Cheapest ups on the planet. Charge you for tape if your package isn't taped shut when you drop it off. Only ups I've ever been to that changes for this. Employees are also always rude and in a rush to finish helping you. Many eye rolls and sighs if you walk in with a drop off 15 minutes before closing. read more
