Below is an email I sent to the store to weeks ago! Subject: Request to Resolve Unsatisfactory Experience Dear UPS Store 6598 Manager, I've been a loyal customer since April 2017, maintaining a P.O. Box with your location. Until recently, I've always found the service to be friendly and efficient, which makes the situation I encountered on March 24 all the more disappointing. On that date, I stopped in during my return from a winter in Cathedral City, CA, to collect my mail before heading to the Canadian border. I was helped by a staff member I didn't recognize, who was unexpectedly rude and aggressive. After retrieving my mail and a USPS Priority Mail package, she informed me that I owed a $90 storage fee. I was completely shocked. I explained that I had spoken with a manager on January 2 by phone, asking that both the recently arrived large package and the USPS package from November, along with all mail in my box, be forwarded to my winter address in Cathedral City. She insisted there was no record of this because only two emails existed on file and neither mentioned the USPS package. I clarified that it was a phone conversation, not an email exchange. She demanded the manager's name and grew confrontational when I couldn't recall it. I did my best to describe the person I spoke with, and eventually, she said she'd consulted with the manager and reduced the fee to $50, which I paid under pressure so I could get back on the road. Frankly, if I hadn't already arranged for both packages to be sent together, why wouldn't I have asked to ship the USPS package separately to avoid unnecessary fees? We discussed that it didn't fit in the box, and I specifically said I could pick it up on my return in March--at which time I was told, "no problem." There was no mention of being charged excessive storage fees. Furthermore, my first email clearly stated to forward any mail in my box, and yet I received neither the USPS package nor any mail in Cathedral City--meaning something was clearly missed on your end. This experience left me feeling dismissed and bullied by your staff. I hope this was an isolated incident and not indicative of future treatment, especially given the delicate political environment between our countries. Please contact me to discuss how this situation can be made right. I followed this up with a reminder, email five days later and got.... Hi, Unfortunately our manager has been on vacation the last two weeks. Your email was put into her inbox the day we received it and as soon as they come back, they will reach out. that was over a week ago, and if I was a manager, and my staff forwarded something to my inbox without responding to the client, I clearly be disappointed in their training or lack of concern for the business. First of all, I have to agree with many of the one star comments as the issues were the same as I had: #1. false quoting of fees. I was quoted about $100 to ship a box to California, including them packing it. When I went back to pay, as they had to take time to pack the box carefully, they said it was over $350.00 and the initial quote was merely an estimate. They claimed "we would never have quoted you under $100; we don't know until we pack the box". #2. After complete arrogance, blame, insulting, sour attitude, "we are right; you are wrong" I paid for the cost of the large box - $60 - which I had to buy (fair enough), unpacked the entire contents, and left with my items. (That box cost was triple what they charge in White Rock, btw). #3. As I know the service at Blaine Postal Center to be superb and always reliable, honest, and friendly and helpful, I went to the incredible women there to help me out. Being aware that they do not pack, I found two of my own smaller boxes, padded all the items into them and went back to BPC for the shipping. The final bill with BPC? All under $75 for the shipping for the two smaller boxes. In sharing this scenario with a number of other businesses and friends, this seems to be the history of Blaine UPS franchise. Clearly, they do set their own fees apart from true UPS fees. The owner apparently works at the Point Roberts franchise and his wife is manager at the Blaine one. She was rude, crass, defiant and had not one bit of proper customer service. I sensed a cultural elitism coming from her; which I have also heard from other people of the same culture mentioning about this family. I was told that the owner is arrogant as well. #4. The pricing was triple of what it should have been (note my fees from BPC above); the customer service is unacceptable and toxic; the manager continues to talk and blame and not pause for the customer to talk. #5. My neighbour in Blaine took three Barbie dolls to ship to her granddaughter in Japan. She was told at this UPS it would be over $150.00. She went to Blaine Postal Center and the total was under $45. Okay - so..... get the picture? #5. I especially like to support all different cultures who live and work in our city; they are ethical and lovely people who contribute to the community. Not this family running this franchise. I have on previous occasions gone in to pick up an item (years ago) and the young people working there were quite pleasant. I have not seen them recently; I would think they quit, perhaps? #6. I have not and will not return to this UPS franchise and have spread the word. #7. Read my reviews of the Blaine Postal Center. Lyle and his team are like family and bend over backwards to help their customers. They allow me to use tape, help me pack, give me boxes. It is a joy to go into the store and since moving back to White Rock I miss them. So, I stop in to say "hi" whenever I go south. They are all GEMS! Please go to them first! I've been using this store for years. Regularly for it's notary services. I've made online appointments and I've come in without an appointment and used the notary public service when they didn't have a scheduled customer. Today I dropped in and there was no customer there and no notary customer supposedly scheduled for another 15 minutes. The process takes a max of 5 minutes, however the girl refused my business despite not having a customer?! When I attempted to logic this out with her, she refused this and started getting an attitude. Obviously she isn't the owner because she refused a sale and lost my business going forward. As far as the store goes, I'm not sure why people are giving them three stars but I gave them five stars. And I'm an elite reviewer! They had to do a bunch of notaries for my client and they helped him sign his loan docs. That was a big help because he is not fiscally sophisticated, and loan docs are perfect. As far as UPS, the shipper, which clearly is not the store, as this store has no control over what UPS the shipper does, as this store is a franchise, I would rank the shipper company third behind the post office in FedEx. Please differentiate between UPS the shipping company, and this franchise. read more

Sunday hours on website and a note on the door saying not open Sunday. Giant waste of time energy and money.

1) No masks on employees. Yes, there's a barrier, but they come around the barrier to interact with customers. Shameful. 2) Slow to ship. I've had an Amazon return sitting there for a week. This UPS store is usually amazing. Whenever I've gone in staff is super awesome and helpful(usually always the younger staff). I hate to write a review as it's not all of the staffs fault or doing. Just 2 particular staff members that were having a bad day and decided to take that out on customers. Today I went in to pick up some packages that I received a text from the shipper that it had arrived and been delivered. I drove down from Canada 2hrs after receiving that message. It's a 50 minute drive not including the line at the border to get through. So in total we'll say 3 hrs passed since it had been delivered. When I arrived there were tags in my box. I received only 2 packages. I questioned where the other one was and was told that because it arrived today it wasn't available. I explained that I have come in multiple times (an entire years span) to receive packages same day and there has never been an issue with them being picked up same day. That staff would usually go back and grab it. I was met with attitude from both the older woman and the older man that were working there today(Feb. 16th)saying they are short staffed. The older man barked out that he's leaving for a coffee first and then MAYBE will get to my package with an eye roll. Then went on to say they are from another store and were brought in to help. I explained that this has never been an issue before at this location and just because they're short staffed doesn't mean I should not be able to get my packages. The older woman just rudely walked away, a younger woman took over the conversation and was super nice about everything but still doesn't excuse the service I received or more so did not receive. Packages are delivered everyday, it shouldn't take 24hrs to scan packages delivered. What if this was a time sensitive package? Or urgent? People pay extra for speedy delivery, and pay for the services at this location. Edit to add since manager responded: I asked my boyfriend if he received the email, he was at work and responded with yes he received the email that morning for our box. I informed staff that we had received an email saying the package was available. He responded while I was talking with them and I let them know right away. I let staff know it was either USPS or DHL, but that one package from the shipment had arrived via USPS so was more than likely from there. I arrived around 1pm, we did not receive a second email until 5pm. 4 hrs later. Not the 2 you claim. Also one package from the shipment was available for pick up but not the rest? There was a total of 7hrs from when I received the text and when we received the email in the morning to when we received a second email. Informing staff of what I have received on my end is not demanding behaviour. I respect you wanting to support your staff but all I received was attitude from 2 employees, who were apparently from another location, minus the one younger girl who was actually kind. read more

CUSTOMER BEWARE!!! This UPS store is a franchised store & pays to use the UPS name. Based on past reviews, stealing or misplacing high end electronics seems to be common practice at this location in Blaine, WA. According to actual UPS customer service and my tracking number, my iPhone never left the Blaine store. The tracking number shows the iPhone was dropped off on Feb. 14 at noon, and no further tracking info is provided. It has now been 2 weeks & tracking still shows delivery date will be provided as soon as possible. I've contacted the Police Department. Also, Verizon was able to disable the IMEI # associated with my iPhone. Verizon advised the IMEI # will be disabled for any carrier / phone company that tries to use or activate my phone. Please read other reviews, this seems to occur quite often at this location. I advise doing business with an actual UPS store & not a franchised store or this store in Blaine, WA. When I attempted to file a claim, the store wanted my checking account & routing numbers for my bank account. I was unable to file a claim because I refused to provide this information. read more

Be very wary of shipping at this store. I have an account here, for receiving , but ship from other providers. My saga started when I shipped a very large care package to my son and grand daughters in California. This is the short version of this saga. My receipt shows a box weighing 14 pounds, 19 x 13 x13 inches. It cost me $47.45 to send. It never arrived. I ask my son to double check. I call from Mexico to get help tracing. They are no help. I have to wait until I can get someone to go to my house, get the receipt, text to me, so I can text it to the UPS Store. They tell me it was delivered and show a picture of a small 4"x4"x1" package. Clearly not mine. They have lost my package. Delivered some other persons to me. Tried to blame it on the delivery driver, but I know it never left the UPS store labelled properly. i did not insure the package as I mail package with UPs at least 10 times a year, to the same destination in California. Never ever thought it would not get there. Bottom line, they offered minimal $100.00 plus the $47.00 . No apology. No call from the manager, despite me sending copies of my receipts that I had to dig out of the garbage. Blamed the driver. The staff member that processed my parcel quit the day before I called in(After returning from Mexico). Gave my complaint letter and copies of receipts to the Manager. Till no apology. That was February 2024. Still no follow up from UPS, the store and no refund. Fedex here I come! read more

The UPS store in Blaine, Washington, is owned by a private contractor called Bashir who is never there, letting it be run by a bunch of kids barely out of high school. A week ago I shipped a package containing an expensive laptop computer to Tuscon, AZ. It never arrived. The tracking number never tracked. No one at UPS could tell me why or what happened, why it cannot be tracked or what happened to it. I tried to file a claim online but was told that could not be done because the parcel was "never tracked." UPS customer service phone numbers do not respond. I will never again use UPS and advise everyone else to avoid them like the plague. read more

In response to the previous comment from this manager, it's false that I was abusive, if calling out on the way a long time customer is treated then so be it. I had paid for late fee once before in 3 years I have used their services, but it was outrageous that as I was just there when the package arrived and I was not given package. The same day I was there when i received the email, just about the same time. They could not consider the fact it was so close in time of the 2 situations, but it became an issue with them. The previous manager was very courteous unlike this manager who is belligerent and does not care about customers. I would not make it a big deal if I was spoken with some respect and just try and resolve it amicably, but with that attitude I was not going to take that. They have lost a customer who uses this service frequently, I am happy to take the business else where. read more

Packing Scam! When I walk into that UPS store for Amazon return, the box good and tight, but the lady working in the store saying that I need to tape it again, then told me that she can do it for two dollars, I said OK, then she tape it just in a second, then start typing the receipt for four dollars, I asked her why? She said because I tape it with four tape, I said but you just mention you just charge two dollars for it, end up I pay $4.35, it's a small amount of money , but the the store credibility is totally gone, I will never come back to the store and I hope no one will fall into the trap again. read more

The hours are rather limited which you need to be aware of. However, the reason I knocked off a couple of stars is the attitude I got from a staff member over my questioning her about charges on a fax I had sent there. The total cost seemed high and I could see there were blank pages within the fax (that were nothing more than numbered) and a cover sheet with nothing superfluous but basic identifier for which I was charged. I politely asked about the blank pages which clearly annoyed her. She begrudgingly agreed to take the blank page charges off my bill but charged for the simple cover sheet (for which office depot would not haveĺ charged). The store was empty - I was a nice customer but the service was all attitude. I left feeling gross and I'll use a different place next time. read more

What a nightmare. The hours are convenient for someone that works fulltime. But the prices are ridiculous. I wanted to send some holiday candy to a friend in Sedro Woolley. They quoted USPS service 42 plus dollars and 18$ plus UPS. I could drive it there and back for less than that, (if I had the time). I was able to get to the post office, $7.50.... never going to that UPS store again. And they aren't wearing masks properly and they are using the same pen for signatures. No hand sanitizer. This UPS was dealing with my Wayfair order. My address to Wayfair was correct but UPS claimed it was missing information. Who is responsible for the error I don't know. But I know that I am on my US address for 5 days waiting for this package and have no updates on when it is going to happen? This is so unprofessional I really can't believe. This store is good, they know my mailbox number by heart and I only go every 2 - 3 weeks. People are friendly and treat me with respect. One time some delivery guy dropped off a package of mine to the other mailbox service in Blaine Mall by accident, the UPS store figured it out for me and I was able to retrieve my package. Plus they are the lowest priced per package receiving service in Blaine that I know of, just $1 USD per package up to a certain weight and $3 for tires. read more

I highly recommend this store! I started renting a box here and never have I had any problems or concerns with my mails/shipments. They send notifications on your email if you have received any packages from them. The owners are very friendly and are open to any questions that you might have. We have had the great opportunity to enjoy the service and efficiency of this UPS store in Blaine, WA. Every other day we pick up parcels or mail because of the closeness of the location of the store. It has been 6 months now that we have rented a mailbox in the store and every time we go in, if there is a parcel or more, Bashire and his wonderful staff gather our parcels and bring them to us without even being asked to. Outstanding!!!! They are all extremely courteous, knowledgeable and helpful on every occasion and...the store is immaculately clean unlike some other stores which are an absolute mess. With so many postal and package delivery stores in Blaine, we feel we made the best choice of them all. They are outstanding in every area, not one or two and, the price is very reasonable.
