I really like this store and not because it's the nearest to my house. They have late hours, staff is always helpful and they never seem to be busy when I stop in (hoping this review doesn't affect my luck so far!) They offer many other services, but my main use is to ship back my Amazon packages. I like that all UPS' now have a kiosk for faster service. Also, there's a Starbucks in the same lot! This location nickels and dimes you to print UPS prepaid labels. 5 bucks to print it and 3 dollars to use the computer? Convenience isn't cheap but I've never had this type of gouging at any other UPS store so I was a little shocked. Came in today to the 1201 24th street location. 4 employees were throwing over 40 parcels from one end of the store to the other. The employees were tossing overnight packages and 2nd day packages. As an ebay seller this really pissed me off. The percent of parcels that arrive damaged are heart breaking for sellers. These packages did not deserve to be thrown around by 4 professional uniformed UPS employees. read more

A huge THANK YOU to Ciarra for giving me the opportunity I needed to return equipment from spectrum . I drove all the way to Bakersfield from Wasco (keep in mind I didn't have a car this particular day as my mother & I share a car) , I get there at exactly at 6:30pm - let's keep in mind it's 100% my fault that I did not check the closing time which is 6:30. I walk In & I see another employee counting out her till for the night .whom Stated that it was "too late " to process this drop off with very little urgency or concern. Ciarra approached the register next to her co-worker and immediately attempted to help me in which she was successful in attempting (yay! Thank you Ciarra) The reason for this review is to indicate the high level of customer service & care that an employee showed (even if the attempt was a probable decline due to the POS not allowing this transaction b/c of closing hours ) . I'm a small business owner here in downtown Bakersfield we depend on UPS for all of our shipping needs and refer to other business professionals to this particular store since it's DT . It would be a shame if we took our needs to fedex or elsewhere In General due to lack of above & beyond service . Get more employees like Ciarra she's a gem & I appreciate her . Keep this in mind when you go to this store: The UPS Store is not in any way affiliated with UPS, don,t be fooled by the name. They are a franchise that will allow you to drop off you package and pay to have it shipped via UPS. They refuse to take responsibility for the damages they caused to our shipment, then proceeded to send it to the incorrect address, where it was then lost. This is a very very very short version. So 350 something bucks down the drain later, they refuse to let us speak to their manager, and will not try to find the box, compensate us for the damages, or even talk to us at all. DONT USE THE UPS STORE, I cannot express that enough, work directly through the coorporation if you can and avoid middleman establishments such as this that only want to point the finger instead of righting a wrong. read more

I came in early a.m. to get a quote to find out what it would cost to print and then fax I wasn't prepared, so I came back later to find out their printers weren't working. The person that informed me of this couldn't answer any questions about the other locations or even offer to call the other store to make sure that they could handle what I needed to be done. I mean I'm not sure why they couldn't take a couple of extra steps, she acted as if they were doing me a favor by letting me use their printer. The whole experience completely contradicted the reason I was cheating on FedEx Kinko's to begin and their commercial false advertising. Now I exaggerate for effect, but for real, go somewhere else. I had a very good experience. The parking lot is atrocious, but there was a fellow at the door to open it for me as my hands were full. He was very quick & efficient, and even asked if I had Triple A, so I could qualify for a discount. It's not cheap, so I traded cash for convenience. I am a phone Agent at a cable, internet, & phone company that services this area but I live in Canada. One of my customers had sent her Granddaughter into this UPS Store to try to mail back some of our equipment. Because she didn't have labels from us to send the equipment, the UPS Agent did their best, & made some labels, saving the customer the postage fees, & mailed the package. This was wonderful, only it back fired. It seemed that the package was sent to the incorrect cable, internet & phone company that serves that area. This has left this customer with charges for purchasing these pieces of equipment. This is not this UPS Agent's fault, they tried to help this customer. Almost 1 month later, looking for this equipment I call into this UPS Store @ 1201 24th St. Suite B Bakersfield CA 93301, asking for help to locate a tracking # for this parcel, as customer doesn't have it, trying to locate equipment to save my customer unnecessary charges. The Agent I spoke to was named Sky, & she was WONDERFUL!! She went above & beyond the call of duty trying to help locate this parcel so my customer wouldn't be charged for the purchase cost of this equipment as it is quite costly. She spoke with me repeatedly, & it must have taken a great deal of time to go through all the orders from that date trying to guess @ which parcel may have belonged to my customer. I AM AMAZED WITH THIS UPS STORE!!! The employees are excellent, especially Sky, & the Agent who helped mail the parcel in the first place. This is the closest UPS drop off location in relation to my office. I've been here a few times dropping off Zappos and/or Amazon returns. The parking lot is terrible but once you make it in the door the employees are friendly and efficient. They have plenty of boxes and other shipping accessories. As with most UPS stores the USPS prices are outrageous, but that's not the reason I stop in. read more
