I've been to a number of UPS locations ever since they started accepting Amazon returns. This is hands down one of the best locations I've ever been to. The building is fairly standard, but the service the staff provided was exceptional. Very friendly, easy to talk to and one of them ran from the behind the counter to hold the door for me. read more

I went in on a Monday at 5:30p. The man who appeared to be in charge automatically started shouting "We're closed! We're closed! We're closed!" Even though the store closed at 6p. I let him know that's not what the website says and he just shouted "We're closed!" Again. This is very typical of this location. Poor and slow customer service, long waits... read more

I originally gave this store two stars because of a particular experience with an employee providing poor customer service. Since then, my experiences have been much better. I wouldn't say it's necessarily a pleasure to trade with this store, but it's not bad. They get the job done. read more

You get what you pay for! I will say this store is slightly more expensive then other shipping locations that I have been to but they actually care for their customers. I paid over $100 to pack and ship some frozen food on 2 day air only to find out that UPS delayed the shipment for no reason. I called into the store and they told me they would look into it. After a few days, I received a call back letting me know that UPS definitely messed up the shipment and they could not find a reason why. Before I could say anything, the lady I was working with offered a full refund on the shipping, the box and all the contents inside. I didn't even need to wait for UPS to look at the claim. They gave me all my money back and said they would deal with UPS on the claim themselves. Nothing but respect for this UPS Store location! read more

I've been to this location several times to drop off packages and it's been fine, but having to actually mail something with them is painful. I went to this UPS store to mail my bridesmaid proposal gifts. I packaged the items myself in standard sized boxes. Upon arrival, they told me they'd need to repack my items in a new package for a fee. Because I'd spent a lot of time and effort on these gifts, I opted to do that for two of the four packages but asked that they keep the box itself intact and packaged within another box. Although I wrote down the name / address of the recipient and sender, it took them 30 minutes to place labels on my 4 packages. During this interaction, the store manager / owner proceeded to berate her employees for not doing it right. To be honest, I felt uncomfortable being in the store and wanted to go elsewhere. After shipping my items, one package was returned to their office entirely damaged. When I asked for a refund on the shipping fee, I was informed the owner would need to cut a physical check but that she isn't in the store. Upon further inspection, one gift was broken and another was completely missing ($70 in value). When I contacted ups support, they informed me that the damage / refund claim had already been submitted but was rejected because the package was 'not standard' (e.g. not packed by their store). I was not informed by the manager that we could file a claim or even how to do that. I'm frustrated with the customer service at this location. 'll be shipping with fedex from now on. read more

I have been to this UPS store several times and I can honestly say I've never had customer service worse than I have at this store. There is one particular man who works there who is extremely rude, talks over the customer, and belittles the customer when he feels they do not know what they are doing. Rather than offering help and guidance they say things like "what do you think you're doing?" I will never come here again. To give a specific example, I went in to return two Amazon pillows the other week. I needed to include both return labels in the box but the employee insisted I only needed one. He said he does this all the time and that I needed to just leave. Sure enough, a week later I only received payment back for ONE pillow. I had to take it up with Amazon and the issue was resolved but if he would have just LISTENED I would not have been so inconvenienced. read more

Have a fleecing for Christmas!! I needed a box to ship presents to Philly. 24'X12"X8" $30 for a freaking box. Guess what? I had to have it and they know it. On a Tuesday I asked for guaranteed delivery by Friday (before xmas), and some kid quipped that it would have to go 2-day Air (Seems to me Thurs is 2 days after Tues, not Fri) at a cost of $163!! You read that right, I am not missing a decimal point. I declined and shipped it Ground in hopes that it will get there in time. For a mere $55! Unconscionable!! read more

I went to The UPS Store today. I had two packages I wanted to drop off. One of them was for a person who had a box there who told me to leave it with them and gave me his box number the other was a small package I was mailing but I had printed a USPS label for. The person behind the counter took the package for the mailbox that was there and told me to walk up to the front and there was a drop off for USPS mail and if it did not fit in the slot that I would have to take it to the post office. That is complete BS! The problem is number one, is that different stores have different policies and I have dropped off packages at a UPS store before there were for the Post Office. Number two is there was absolutely no reason for him not to take it. It was late in the day so I'm sure it would not have gone out till tomorrow but I was not worried about that. I just did not want to make a second trip to the post office. What the person behind the counter did was incredibly not customer friendly. I am very tired of different rules at different UPS Stores. I maintained a box at a couple of UPS Stores over the years and finally switched over to a Pak Mail store. I've never been happier about that decision and what happened today and this particular stores lack of customer service and the UPS Store franchise overall having very fluid rules about what they do makes me glad that I did switch. I will never go back to a UPS store again unless I absolutely have to. The stores customer service was abysmal and I will not forget it. read more

This place deserves zero stars. These guys are lazy jerks and I will never go back to them. Needed to have my ipod sent in for a repair, so I went online to set that up and was given specific instructions by Apple to take my ipod to any UPS store and they would have the needed information in their system and would pack it up and ship it, at no charge to me. So, I went to this UPS store. I told the clerk what I needed, he directed me to the wall to find a package to use. I then gave him my package and he asked for a shipping label. I showed him the instructions Apple had given me and the clerk said he couldn't do anything without a shipping label. We went back and forth and I pointed out Apple's written instructions (which stated that any UPS store would have the info needed in their system) and he scoffed and asked me how I could think they would have access to Apple's information. I then asked for my package back (which he was holding at this point) and he started to walk away. I immediately grabbed it and he snatched it out of my fingers. Another clerk then came out and said only a UPS shipping hub could do what I had asked. I was frustrated at this point and demanded my package back. When I got it back, I left. I decided to try another UPS location, and what do you know? They did it no problem! I gave them my instructions from Apple and they DID have the info in their system. Excellent service and great color copies @ 39 cents (versusFedEx Office/Kinkos at 89 cents). This is more than just a shipping/rent-a-mailbox place in a strip mall these days. The UPS Store are doing much more full service printing, including some of the lowest color copy prices I have found in Austin. We update our menu at least once a year, and the 450 color pages we print would have cost more than $430 at FedEx Office/Kinkos, or $335 at Sir Speedy, while this local UPS store got it all done in less than a half hour for around $150 bucks. That's change I believe is in my pocket. While I was there I noticed large format printers and lamination equipment, so today I dropped off our 11x17" outdoor and kitchen menus for lamination and they did them while I waited, also for less than the other guy in shipping/printing biz. Sherri, Edgar and the rest of the staff there were extremely pleasant and quick. The store is convenient to 183 and Jollyville, has parking at the door and reasonable hours. Oh yeah, they do shipping too. I originally took off one star because the UPS print online website interface leaves a lot to be desired. I prefer to submit jobs online, but the clumsy and confusing web UI sure made dropping by the better alternative. Fortunately, the service was so fast in person I didn't really lose much time, so 5-stars it is! read more

I specifically asked to ship my box by USPS. They confirmed that service was available, leading me to believe that was how the package was shipped. Not til I got home did I realize they shipped it UPS anyway. Never trust them again. read more

I love this UPS! I have a Personal Mail Box here and annoy the living hell out of these guys with all the 5893752 million packages I have come in. Comic books, thinkgeek presents, text books, beauty products, puppy medicine, chocolate, sex toys, you name it. I bust in like Kramer on a Seinfeld episode (except not racist?) feeling that EVERY SINGLE PACKAGE is the most important delivery of my life. They are so quick to help and so patient in explaining to me when something hasn't arrived yet. And then craddling me in their sweet, loving arms as I cry about it for a bit. I like all the employees here. They are so friendly and nice, even when I see other customers testing their limits with outrageous demands. I once was there and overheard someone want to ship something to China overnight for cheap LOL. read more

Guy working here today was completely rude! I'll never go back. He noticed my box was light and threatened to cut it down. I assured him it was the right size for what I was shipping, in fact I'd bought the box specifically for the items I was shipping. He also said I had to tell him EXACTLY what was in the box. All they ask me at the post office is if it's combustible or liquid. I'd tried to ship it from the PO but they're computers were down. I told him it had gifts in it and he told me he didn't have to ship it if I wouldn't tell him exactly what was in it. Really???!! As I left, he threw my box on the back counter. This is a horrible place. They lose paperwork, very rude, don't know their customers/. I rented a PO box 6 months ago. I went in one time to UPS some legal paper work. I paid the extra charge to overnight it to New Braunfels (through San Antonio) these were legal important papers as I was taking care of my terminally ill ex husband and need these papers to go. They lost the papers. Would not give me any information as to who to contact in S.A. Like it was a big secret. There was one particular employee there that was so rude...SO RUDE. He should not be working there. Never a "hi how are you/thank you/can I help you..) nada. These UPS store are owned independently franchises. These guys are always super helpful, very efficient, and nice. I feel they go above and beyond the call of duty which seems rare to find these days. I've not only shipped packages from here, but have also used them as a notary and they are priced very fairly for that service. I've found these folks to be both dishonest and impolite. I came in to return an online purchase. When the UPS price was high I asked if they were able to compare other carriers. He said yes and said "Oh, it'll be the same via US post". It didn't sound right, so I went to the post office and mailed my package for about 1/4 the price. I can understand wanting to keep the business, but there are better ways to do that. read more

I was driving all around town trying to print some business cards in a hurry. After going to four different UPS stores, I finally found this one. The staff was super friendly and professional. As this is the first time I get my business card printed, they helped me with designing one and filling out the order form. As I told them I need it in a hurry, they FAX the form right away, and they called me same afternoon and said the proof was ready. After I approved the proof, they called me two days later and said my business card was in. The business card was exactly the way I wanted it. After visiting several UPS locations in town, I noticed a big difference in attitude of the staff at different stores. In my opinion, this UPS store and staff rocks! Although it is a few miles further I need to drive, I would definitely come back next time I need services when I am in town, as I know they will do it right and with a smile. read more

The picture in the profile of this UPS Store, the employee dude taking a nap is a perfect composite of the kind of service you will receive in this store. I've been using this location for a number of years, 4-5 times a year, for various reasons. Usually when my printer ink goes out and I don't want to spend $50 to replace. In the case today, I have been out of work for a few months after a lay off and needed to provide a scan of an ID for a contract job I am doing this month. The young lady behind the counter was very nice and prepared to help me but when I told her what I needed... a simple scan of a document saved to my personal thumb drive... "lazy bones" who doubles as either manager or owner (not sure which, but clearly "the boss") came over and with an attitude that is perfectly captured in that profile picture "helped" me by scanning the ID and then saving it to MY thumb drive. I'm thinking to myself, surely this will only cost a dollar or maybe they'll even say "Hey don't worry about it". I mean, the profit margin on this "job" is 100%. No cost to them in paper or other. Just about 120 seconds of this gentleman's time. No... they charged my $2.98. Not that this is a lot of money, but it's the principle. I will not return. Would rather drive 5-10 more minutes away to be helped by someone who gives a sh*t about their customers and doesn't gouge them with random pricing on a small need. I'm glad others have experienced better, but every time I go in this place I am appalled by the general lack of professionalism and courtesy I have seen not only directed at me but other customers as well. The lazy, sorry attitude manager/owner isn't worth spending a penny on ever again. The cute, sweet, eager to help young lady behind the counter notwithstanding, this kind of "service" deserves less than 1 star. read more

Store manager made things right by refunding the overnight delivery charge for a package that was not delivered.

I shipped a large audio amplifier through this store. Dropped it off in a box I provided and asked for it to be sealed and packed. They did both and the amplifier was damaged in shipping. Damaged so bad it looked like it had been thrown out of an airplane. I also added $400 in insurance to cover the cost of the amplifier, which was denied by UPS after they saw the packing job, stating that, "There is no way a UPS store packed this." Well they did. I went back into the store to discuss this with the woman behind the counter who had packed it. She argued over the semantics of them packing it and that I did not pay for "packing." I paid $60 for shipping and asked that it be packed and sealed. It was both packed using their packing materials aside from the box and it was sealed by them, but so poorly the amplifier was irreparably damaged. They refused to cover the $400 I was out and I HIGHLY recommend not giving them your business. Thanks for nothing Balcones Woods UPS Store! read more
