This place rocks! They have a lot of choices and the prices are super great! The employee is always helpful and seems to know what he's talking about. He usually knows off the top of his head if he has something in stock or not, too! I initially thought that the quality of boxes here would be lower than the standard boxes sold anywhere else but this is not the case. Their boxes are really nice and they even have all sorts of cool stuff like box-colored tape.(meaning the brown color/texture) They have box cutters, permanent markers, bubblewrap, box tape etc. We do a lot of Ebay stuff and find this place to be a godsend whenever we don't have the proper box to ship our goods out in!! This store is great for do-it-yourself moves or, in my case, when you need to return an odd-sized item to Amazon and already threw out the odd-sized box. The big takeaway is that they have almost every box you might ever need and they sell them for cheaper than anyone else. (And unlike some other places, they have almost everything in stock in the store.) On a negative, it's largely self-service. During today's stop, we were delayed because their cash register software was having difficulties. The lady at the counter was justifiably preoccupied with getting that back up and running. The name of the business pretty much says it all. The boxes here are WAY cheaper than what you will find at common shipping/storage type businesses. I'm about to move and this place has made the packing process much easier than it has been for me during past moves. If you are going to move and need a lot of boxes, don't even bother driving all over town looking for free boxes. I've done that before and it's annoying. I got 10 extra large boxes and 10 large boxes for about $50 here and it was totally worth it. These are huge boxes that I have paid at least twice as much for at other places. They have all different types of boxes too. Just make sure you bring a vehicle big enough to fit what you plan to buy. I rolled up in my Ford Focus and there was no way I was going to fit a wardrobe box in there. The guy who worked there was really nice though and helped me get all the boxes into my car. read more

I had been going through so much angst trying to figure out where to get boxes for moving, researching online. The prices of boxes nearly the same size can vary widely, but that only increased my worries, trying to make a decision. At first I almost ordered boxes online. I'm so GLAD I did not! And then a friend was going to go pick them up for me. I'm so glad that mission was aborted! What I learned from going to 1/2 Price Boxes (for the first time) today was that they ROCK...!!! First of all, the size of the store is just big enough for lots and lots of different BOXES and the accoutrement one might need for moving and/or shipping -- tapes, bubble wrap, plastic bags for mattresses, box cutters, etc., etc. I don't know about you, but when I'm getting these kinds of supplies I really don't want to have to walk through a grocery aisle and a garden aisle, etc., etc., with all the distractions -- and I REALLY, REALLY appreciate a clerk who works there that knows the product. And at Boxes, Etc., he does. I can't tell you how much that means to me -- and in our society today customer service is all but lost at those big stores like Wal-Mart (who never deigned to even answer the phone when I called). The store is very well organized, neat and tidy and simple. No balloons, no PA telling me what is on special. Just the boxes, ma'am. YES...! The price was VERY reasonable. I was honestly surprised by the assortment of boxes and packing materials available at 1/2 Price Boxes- everything from little "ship a mug" boxes up to huge mirror and wardrobe boxes. I needed a few large boxes to ship some electronics (which are tough to find and EXPENSIVE at office and storage stores) and they had just the right size at about half the price (seriously) you'd pay at the nearby office stores and moving/storage facilities. When you are able to get them on the phone, which is not often, they are helpful. They always have the item in stock I am looking for, which is a plus as it is a large item that not all of the box stores regularly keep in stock. On numerous occasions I have called to check inventory on this large item, left a message and never received a return phone call. I live about 20 minutes away so communication is vital to retaining my business, as a wasted trip into town would be very upsetting. Awesomely low prices, friendly service, and great deals on packing sets for homes based on the number of rooms. I stopped by here to grab some shipping supplies for work recently, and all I can say is that I wish they'd been around back when I was moving! Six years ago I spent way too much on boxes, tape, and bubble and foam wrap from the cheapest place I could find, but these guys have that beat by more than 50%.
