Pros: conveniently located on base. Cons: The cashier was slow and did not know her own menu. Overpriced for the quality and quantity. The loco burrito was skimpy and flat. Loaded with 90% fries and 10% meat. The burrito was barely warm. The carnitas was bland and lacking in flavor. The tasted like they were frozen and microwaved before. The hot sauce was far from hot.

I feel so sorry for people without base access. Loco Lowe's is a JBPHH gem! As long as they're…read morehere, I strongly advise you to gain base access someway, somehow... But legally of course! My coworkers & I try to plan lunch get-togethers at this spot, but with our ever changing work schedules, it can be difficult. Anyway, enough of the backstory that you all don't care about... I was debating between the protein bowl and frybread taco. I can be quite indecisive, so it was no surprise that I couldn't make up my mind. I asked what they would suggest I order and they told me the frybread, which they mentioned it being very unique in comparison to other options on the menu not only for them, but for other establishments too. Since it's "no calorie Friday", the Friday where calories don't count, I figured I might as well get that frybread! I chose carne asada and got sour cream and guac, and their spicy salsa/sauce on the side (really good, but I can go spicier ). I didn't know what to expect because I didn't turn to yelp beforehand & there wasn't any pictures posted on the truck. So I guess you can say I was being very adventurous. An adventure I would go on again, I might add. We got there at about 130, well after the lunch rush & I am so glad about that! We waited no longer than 5 minutes for our food, which was fantastic! When I opened up the plate, my jaw dropped. The frybread looked amazing. I couldn't wait to dig in, but I had to wait because I had to figure out my plan of attack. It was huge! Was I gonna eat it like a pizza? Use a knife & fork? Fold it like a taco or chalupa? I ended up eating it like a pizza, but it was so much food... My hands got tired Hahhaha. I ended up using the knife & fork! I def think this meal coulda fed two people, but honestly... I finished the whole frybread on my own! No regrets! The frybread was fried nice and golden, crunchy outside & soft & pillow-like inside. It was topped with refried beans, tomatoes, carne asada (which was nicely marinated & tender), & the guac, salsa, & sour cream. Loco Lowe's is amazing. Friendly service & delicious food. It's even just a nice place to make new friends. Go there ASAP. Do yourself a favor, eat a whole frybread or share it with someone you love & enjoy it!!!

I love trying new coffee shops and was intrigued when I saw this. You need base access to try this…read moreshop but if you have access...it's so worth it! Great people and service, I'm a sucker for great coffee shop ambiance and I LOVED the inside of their coffee shop so cute! It was interesting the first time to walk in a drive thru line lol but it was so easy to pay and receive the drink. The only thing I do have to say is, I tend to like my coffee on the super sweet side and the two times i've been there, it hasn't been as sweet as I've wanted it too. That's not on them though! Some people's version of sweet isn't my version of sweet! I will definitely be returning! (There menu changes due to the season and i think that is a bonus!!)

Best coffee shop on JBPHH!!…read more I visited this coffee cart a few weeks ago after seeing my friend post her iced vanilla lavender latte. I caught them parked at the empty parking lot at the corner of Vandenberg and Freedom on Hickam. I stopped by during my lunch break, less than 30 minutes before closing. Like with any new coffee shop, I opted for my baseline drink, an iced vanilla latte. The gentleman who took my order was also the barista. He shared FFC's mission, that they donate proceeds to local animal shelters. Picked up my drink, took a sip, and I was amazed at the strength of the espresso...just right! Sweet enough, not too watery, not too creamy, roasted coffee flavor was great. Their menu is simple, without all the frou-frou flavors and add-ons. Their syrups are house-made and their coffees are from a local coffee roaster! Customers of that other local coffee shop on base should run to FFC instead! Since that visit, I found out that they now do drive-thru service, and will soon add conchas from @conchas_solo8 to their lineup of baked goods beginning August 27th! I'm overdue for a repeat visit. If you're on JBPHH and are craving handcrafted coffee, head on over here!

I chose the Ahi Katsu mini plate with rice and greens. Husband ordered the Ahi Katsu burger and side of fries. My plate was good, nice seasonings, not the best I've had but good. So, I work on Hickam and visit the food court often. I don't really stop by the food trucks out…read morefront that often but I've been missing out. I ordered a spicy poke bowl. Initially I was skeptical because 1) it's a food truck serving raw fish, 2) on an Air Force base, 3) and the two owners/operators don't look like my normal sushi person in town. Raw fish is something that necessitates some knowledge & skill to ensure everyone's safety. But I didn't want to wait in the subway line, so I took a chance. I think they use ahi tuna in chunks and their spicy sauce is delicious--it really is good. Just mix it all up and bam! In town, I have often found I don't get enough sauce or it's not that flavorful. That's not an issue here. They also have rolls and other items that I want to try in the future. They also provide two dumplings. They're not too bad. Not great but not bad. Some folks are complaining about the cost to portion ratio but I'd say it's about on par with any similar type casual sit down place in town. All in all, this will do. If you're expecting fine dining, you're barking up the wrong tree. It's a food truck ffs. They provide fresh, quick, & tasty food. What more do you want?
