Since 2018, I have spent nearly $90,000 with this company, including a recent $13,000 project in 2025 to completely rip out and reinstall a twice failed pet turf area, only to be left with the same unusable, foul-smelling yard. The core of the issue is a fundamental lack of industry knowledge regarding pet-friendly artificial turf installation leading to persistent urine odors. When original turf became matted and flat, Jeremy's solution was to add more silica sand.I have since learned from multiple other professionals that silica sand is the primary material you NEVER USE for pet turf, as it's porous and permanently traps odors. Even during the complete 2025 reinstallation-which involved ripping out 10 inches of base layer- Jeremy still used silica sand. Predictably, the odor returned and was worse than before. While Jeremy offered to redo the yard a fourth time, I could not trust a "professional" who repeatedly used wrong materials after seven years of documented failures. Despite the massive amount of money spent, he has refused to offer any form of cash refund. I am now forced to pay a new contractor to fix his mistakes. If you want a functional, sanitary yard, do not trust this company. Their "expertise" is severely lacking, their communication is spotty and they do not stand behind their work with financial accountability.

Ultimately they were able to complete our job in less than a week, a month earlier than originally planned, and made substantial accommodations to work around the new road construction on our street. We decided to switch from a yard full of grass to a mostly-xeriscaped yard. The project included removing the existing grass, shrubs, sprinklers, concrete walkway and water lines and replacing them with pavers, rock, creek bed pebbles, shrubs, boulders, decorative lighting, drip system, electrical lines attached to timers, a mailbox pillar, and an additional step added to the entryway. After researching many companies and interviewing four, we ended up choosing Nevada Pavers & Stone. Rafael, the owner, spent a lot of time with us to determine exactly what we wanted and he was also very patient as we requested changes both before the project started and during the renovation, clearly stating if a change was included or if it would be an additional cost so there would be no surprises. Once he and his crew started the job, they did not want to stop until they finished. I mention this because often contractors will start a project, only to leave in the middle of it to work on someone else's project then return at a later date. We appreciated that this was not the case with Nevada Pavers & Stone. The crew was ready to work by 8 a.m. every morning, sometimes earlier. They worked hard all day, every day (at times they were actually jogging when transferring materials from the truck to the yard) and were respectful of our property and our neighbors' property, cleaning up as they went and at the end of each workday. They were also professionals - they knew what was expected and how to do it, and we never heard loud voices, questionable language, or loud music (in fact I did not hear any music at all, which I would not have minded). The project included many drip lines and electrical wire being run for shrubs and lighting, all of which are nicely hidden as they were buried under the new ground cover. Rafael also built a pillar for our mailbox, to which he added a decorative light on top and lighted address numbers on the front. We are very happy with our front yard. Rafael was very quick inspecting the job and the quote was beyond reasonable for the amount of work so I immediately just said yes! Scheduling was easy and there were no delays. Due to some family issues, I didn't pick out my own pavers. I just described a color scheme I was interested in and Rafael did the rest. Jose and his team arrived on Monday morning and they worked like a well oiled machine. Each man had a job to do and they did it. No wasted time chatting or planning. They came in and got right to work every day. They were friendly, efficient and serious about the work. The entire job was completed in 4 days and I couldn't be happier. The pavers match the house and fence so well! I couldn't have picked anything more perfect. Creative Gardens has an actual retail store in Sparks so you can always find them. We dealt with the owner, CJ, who was very knowledgeable on designing a backyard. He listened to what we wanted and then produced a virtual reality model of it on a large screen right there in the office. He had the ability to make real time changes as we requested them. This is a family operated business with CJ being the 3rd generation owner. His mom is the office manager and his sister runs the retail operations of the store. From the minute we walked in the door, they put us at ease and made us feel very welcome. The fact that they could make real world changes on the computer sold us on going with them. It was that and how well they treated us from the moment we walked into the business. During the build we had multiple changes and additions. The field supervisor, Jeff, is awesome to work with and doesn't know the word "no". He always says "we can do that". Their work crews were also great. Their crew leader, Cruz, can build just about anything and runs a tight ship. We really couldn't be happier with our backyard and the relationships we built with the Creative Garden staff. They have our full support and recommendation for their work. Oh and they are priced very reasonably.

Rob, one of the three executives from the paver Company reached out to me and personally took care of me. Rob Turned this into an excellent experience. Moving forward: I was contacted by a representatives to set up an appointment. His name was Ken Jackson. He arrived promptly at the appointment time and asked me quite a few questions about what I was looking to have done. I told him I wanted to divide the project into three parts. Pavers for my front patio somewhere around 1000 ft.² for the first part. Then replace the cement pad going into the garage and extend the parking area with pavers. Finally if within budget, decompose granite Drive way for my drive-through area. If the price was out of my range, I would prioritize each section. I also let him know that I have five kids and probably since it's in the front of the house, the pavers might be driven on, so best to have the whole project done to take the weight of a vehicle. Finally added on some bullnose steps and lighting for the porch. Ken set about doing all of the measurements. He brought out quite a few sample stones to fit what we needed. We went with a cobblestone mix with sandstone. And a dark gray trim. Ken returned after three days with a quote that was a little bit out of my price range. This is to be expected. When getting bids, we do not know what the market bears. We don't know the profit margin, we basically want pavers and are kinda at the mercy of the sales people. The best thing I can recommend here is get your budget and if you can get everything you want within your budget, don't worry about if you can save a few dollars here or there. I have gone through the Bid process with so many different companies. Window replacement, gutters, new furnace, new water heater, new roof, new water softener, new deck, new kitchen cabinets, new sink, full exterior house paint, and garage door replacement. If you are doing renovation, get plenty of bids. If a salesman is pushy or tells you you have a limited time to get the special... don't be pressured. Just walk away. Inform their superiors if you feel they are out of line. Do research and compare apples to apples. All of this being said, if you want some pavers, I would recommend you giving these guys a shot because they really did a good job presenting high-quality paver experience. Though they are definitely not the least expensive. I would trust them to do the work if I can find a way to pay for it lol

Some wanted us to give them a plan; others wanted a fee ($500-$1500) to come up with a plan; and still others wouldn't let us see their plan until we had agreed to hire them. Ken Jackson from The Paver Company met with us several times to get our thoughts to come up with a plan at no charge and no commitment. Once we agreed to proceed, Juan Gomez, the onsite project manager for The Paver Company and his crew worked hard and quickly and did a great job. They also left the job site clean. Jose explained the types of tiles they have and gave his opinion on what will look good. He is also very flexible with changes because I had to change a few things while reviewing what we went over. The tiles I chose for the backyard are grey tones and cost about $10 per sq ft. He suggested a step because of the slight slope of the landscape. It turned out very beautiful with the lights! I brought a pergola and his team was able to install it for me as well for a fee which I did not mind because I did not have the tools and ability to install it myself. I was able to bring my sketches to life with the help of Jose and his team! I definitely would recommend them for any type of landscaping needs. Update: It has been over a year since the landscaping and everything still looks great! I do not shovel the snow I. The backyard though because I am afraid it will damage the tiles.
