I bought a bit of a fixer-upper of a home. I've been a bit overwhelmed by projects, but the work J…read more& J has done has lessened the physical load at an excellent price. I've hired J & J for five projects over the past six months and they have done an excellent job every time. First, I hired them to seal a closet that was open to the attic. They worked quickly to seal off the space, keeping my kitchen much cooler. They kept my space very clean, getting rid of all drywall debris. Next, I hired them to repair some masonry cracks outside my home and repair plaster inside my home. They got both done simultaneously over about six hours. I work from home, and, even though they were there for a long period of time, they were unobtrusive and allowed me to focus. Then, I hired them to replace drywall in a room that had flooded. They cut out the drywall, cleaned out the mold from the studs, replaces the drywall, and painted the wall. It looks amazing now. Later, I hired them to remove a shower door and re-grout one of my showers that is completely tiled in, including the ceiling. Prior to their work, the shower was unpleasant, with many gaps and holes in the grout leading straight to the walls. They did an excellent job at an affordable price. Finally, today they came to paint my addition. The prior owners never prepared the concrete blocks properly. J & H scraped the old paint, repaired the mortar where needed, primed, and repainted. It looks great! Each project they did, they went above and beyond. When sealing my closet, Josh provided me with advice about some cracks I found while preparing a room to paint. When repairing my exterior walls, they repaired additional cracks I hadn't noticed. When repairing my interior wall, they fixed a patch on my ceiling. When painting outside, they painted some ugly utility boxes that made my backyard look like a utility closet. They're quick to respond with a quote (less than 48 hours) and are realistic about their timelines for repair. They will also recommend someone to you if they can't take on your project in the time frame you need it completed in. I highly recommend these guys. My neighbors love them too, every time they come by, my neighbors are trying to steal them away for their own projects.

After several attempts to acquire details that would require $800 rather than$400, we haggled back and forth by text message, with him dodging my questions with pledges to "get back to you tomorrow", or some such. I had ready prepaid the $400 he demanded thru PayPal when our dialog ended, with his pledge to refund (most) of that $400 prepayment. That was the last word from him, and that was three weeks ago! Let this be a warning to NOT prepay for a project that doesn't at most pay for some of the materials and perhaps travel. Don't get taken to the cleaners as I had. I may have dismissed a loss of $400, but at least it didn't become the $800 he was licking his lips over.

I informed him that I had a slope adapter and was told by another pro that the fan/light would not hang properly w/o it. He told me he thought he could make it work and asked it I could return the adapter for a refund, making it inconvenient for me. He needed to go to the store for a part he did not have on his truck. He go two parts, he said he didn't know which one was the right one. Also I assited him in turning off breakers to locate the right breaker for the light switch. Total job took 3 hours and I was billed $287 for which he refunded me $28 as I had to return the extra part for for a refund. He cleaned up nicely when finished. I couldn't get the refund because he paid for it with a card so he Zelled me the price for part.
