This Review follows Dillon Sharp encounter. He received my Project and pics secondary to Yelp's platform. But in person, DS was not truthful.
First, he said that he charged $65 "an hour," and could manage completing all exterior lights given materials within 8 hours or he would come back out and finish following day at no extra charge. Ok.
Second, he agreed to put that Estimate on his write up, but changed his mind later without giving notice. so when his rate doubled this way, LAHH received bad review.
Third, instead of responding to core complaint about facts above, Mr Sharp promptly petitioned his rep to find other fault with his review, so an anonymous email from Yelp blandly referenced negative review as noncompliant with Community, but no reference to narrative presented.
Finally, this is a completely unsupervised platform and the only advocacy for Community comes from folks who derive revenue from accounts like LAHH. So caveat emptor to both, I'm just saying.
The master electrician hired was able to the job as described to DS but for a rate remarkably less than LAHH 's bait & switch tactic. Ironically, electrician 's company was on Yelp too but restricted from its automation (sending out bids to various companies)!
Anyway, I'd much rather write a positive review for that one but you can see here how dysfunctional this scenario played out. All of Yelp's contacts summoned to project via Yelp were either unmotivated or bent like Dillon Sharp. So caveat emptor shout out to LAHH but equally to Yelp, who values not quality control over its subscribers who engage unsuspecting consumers this way.
Although it's beyond belief that Yelp enables the bad apples to pretend, it also has winners like the one hired. Just remember to expect baked in complicity when you try to call one out, folks. Yelp only answers calls from businesses who pay, not the consumers who figure out something 's rotten there. If you figure this out, you'll get better results and less BS, personal opinion. read more
