The next best thing would be their curry goat or curry chicken with buss-up-shut roti.

Fantastic food, even better catering service!…read more My spouse and I have been Cocobreeze fans for years, and since my spouse is Trinidadian, we knew as soon as we started planning our wedding that we'd be getting Cocobreeze to cater it. Chef Ann more than delivered. Buffet-style food for 60 people came in at around $4k, which if you've looked into wedding catering in the area, is a great deal. We got all of our favorites - doubles, saltfish fritters, goat curry, red snapper, vegetables, and desserts: pone (spiced cassava cake) and mini mango turmeric peach cobblers. Our guests LOVED the food, even those who had never had Trinidadian food before or who generally had less... adventurous palates. I still have dreams about the pone. Chef Ann was a delight to work with. We told her how many people we were expecting and which dishes we were most excited about, and she put together a menu for us and told us how much of each item to order. It came out to a bit more than our guests could eat, but not too much more, and that is WAY better than running out! Chef Ann and her team also provided serving utensils and chafer dishes to keep the food warm, and delivered everything on time, stuck around through the event, and took the chafer dishes back with them at the end of the event.

Authentic Caribbean Flavors & Vegan Heaven!…read more Cocobreeze is hands-down the best Caribbean food in the Bay Area . Chef Ann is doing something special here--the oxtails are heavenly, the curry roti is amazing, and the portions are a nice size. I was blown away by the vegan options. Even the drinks are authentic they serve Mauby and Sorrel . Whether you dine in to feel the cozy Trinidadian vibes or order takeout, the hospitality is warm and the food is made with love . Don't sleep on this Oakland gem

The table ordered the jerk chicken, 2 coconut salmons, 2 P.O.G.s and I ordered a paella oyo! There were rave reviews from the group for the plantains. Everyone enjoyed their meal and it was a very cozy warm experience. The paella was so crispy, the corn was delicious and it was flavorful! Excited to eat my left overs.

The Food: Street Food Double: The chutneys were incredibly flavorful, pairing perfectly with the well-cooked chickpeas. The bara pockets were wonderfully soft and delicious. Beef Patties: The pastry was beautifully crisp and savory. The spiced short rib filling was a total delight--it had a nice kick to it without being overly spicy, which I loved. Oxtail Stew: Generous portion size with plenty of chunky meat that literally falls off the bone. It was perfectly marinated in a great blend of spices. Pairing the stew with a side of their coconut rice is highly recommended! Banana Bread Pudding: Having heard so much hype about this, it was just alright for me. It was cooked perfectly and I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, but it lacked a real wow factor. The Drinks: Red Wine Sangria: Really nice, refreshing, and fruity. Chase The Devil: Fun to try if you want something different, and it has a decent kick, but I would probably skip it next time. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating. On top of that, the servers are friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. Definitely worth a visit!

There's limited seating here so I can see how it can get busy and you may need to wait or eat somewhere else. We got the bisteak sandwich, pollo al horno with garlicky plantain, and mofongo. First of all, we came during an off-hour, around 3:30pm, and there was still a line to order at the counter. They provided complementary ice water from a dispenser outside with cups, which was really nice. Once we placed our orders, we stood outside with everyone else as the indoor area is pretty small with only limited counter seating at the window. We waited about 5 minutes to order and another 10-15 for our food. Most people set up camp on the tailgates of their cars in the parking lot, so we did the same. Pro tip: some people brought camping chairs and coolers to make it into a real tailgate, which I thought was really cool. - Pollo al horno: ordered the Large plate which came with generous portion of chicken, white rice, choice of fried garlic plantain or sweet plantain (or one of each), side of beans (choice of black or pink), and a side salad. Chicken was marinated very nicely and wasn't too dry. - Bistec encebollado: ordered the Large plate also which came with the same as above. Steak was cooked well and surprisingly tender enough to cut easily. Both plantains were good but I really liked the garlic one because it was different than the sweet plantains I'm used to. The Large plate portion sizes were huge! Although the price did reflect this, I think it was still worth for the amount of food given.
