As soon as I heard of this restaurant, I contacted my Trinidadian friend and set up a lunch for us to check it out. Truth be told, she was so excited to hear about an authentic Trinidadian restaurant in Sacramento that she went the same day to try it out. It got her seal of approval, so we stuck with our plans. The restaurant is in a small strip mall near a really fantastic comic book store (with two sweet pugs running the place). They share a kitchen space with a Jamaican restaurant, but don't have much signage outside, so I was a bit worried they weren't open. Thankfully, that was not the case. The restaurant is not very big, with a few tables accommodating groups of 4. Trini Table is a two woman operation, so please be patient if both owners are preparing food in the back. We ordered almost everything on the menu just to try as it was my first time eating Trinidadian. They had options for vegetarians, including their stand-out doubles. Not all Caribbean food is Jamaican! Unique yet familiar flavors! Had to try this place out after seeing them showcased on KCRA. Tammi, the owner, was great in explaining the dishes and was real passionate about the food. She said they've been open since June of 2025 and have a goal of opening a stand alone restaurant if the support is there. The food is good so show them some love! Goat curry. $23. It comes with this home made roti that's light, buttery, and flaky. You can get the roti whole, dalpuri style, but I got mines "buss up shut" which came looking tattered like a "busted up shirt" in a paper bag that I spread over my plate so it would be in every bite. The goat curry was tender and full of flavor. The chickpea dish gave me Chana masala vibes. The most unique side was their mango chutney/chow since it was savory. Definitely unique and worth a visit. *Trini table is located in a commercial kitchen area shared with a middle eastern and Jamaican spot. There's a couple tables inside if you wanted to eat in. You could probably rearrange tables if you were a big group, otherwise I saw a lot of people doing takeout. read more

Could have asked for a better introduction to Trinidadian food than this little spot in sac! The two women working were so lovely and enthusiastic about the food they have to offer. The location is a shared kitchen space but the trini table was the only one open while we were there. There were four tables inside that were full by the time we were eating. The goat was incredibly tender and not gamey at all. The doubles were full of spiced chickpeas and the bread was bouncy. Everything was so delicious! Make sure you try the pepper sauce but be prepared for the scotch bonnet of it al! Would highly recommend and will be back again! read more

Trini Table is truly a Sacramento gem! I am so happy to finally see real, true, authentic Trini food being offered by these amazing ladies. While there are many Caribbean spots in the region, none offer the flavors or items like these found at Trinidadian Cookouts. Let's start with the highlight of this little spot- the doubles! If you don't know what a double is, check out their doubles pop up on Saturday mornings. Doubles are a fluffy, fried flatbread called barra, topped with channa (chickpeas) and a combination of sweet, savory and spicy chutneys or sauces. These are AWESOME. I had these a few years ago when I visited Trindad and Tobago and thanks to these ladies I can finally fulfill my craving for doubles every Saturday! The next best thing would be their curry goat or curry chicken with buss-up-shut roti. If you think you know roti, you don't know roti until you have buttery buss-up-shut. Their roti and all foods are fresh and packed with flavor. When I visited I enjoyed their curry goat while my husband had the chicken. Both very saucy with true Trini curry flavor, mildy spicy (per my request) and cooked to perfection. The curry mango and chickpeas were a excellent combination and delicious. Every bite took me back to the islands. To attest to their amazing flavor, I brought some left over goat and a fresh roti home for my son. I thought i'd only have at most half the roti but to my surprised he ate the whole thing, scooping every drip of sauce and wrapping his goat and potatos true Trini style. I look forward to returning for more doubles and to try their calaloo, salt fish, plantains and rum cake. The Pigtail Oil Down: So good, it taste like a chicken pot pie, with pig tails. Very good. The Bust it Up: Baby! that was good. My husband had been looking for something like this to come to Sacramento. He got his wish. He was so thrilled and satisfied with this Bust It Shut Up. One of the best meals I've eaten in a very long time very memorable. I had the bust up and shit with curry goat, chana , and curried mango. I also grabbed two doubles and an extra side of hot sauce. For dessert, I grabbed the rum sponge. Immediately upon reaching home I dipped my roti into the curry goat gravy and took a spoon of the chickpeas. It was heaven in my mouth the flavours no salt needed everything season perfectly my mouth and my stomach has not been this happy in a long time. I am so grateful and glad that we now have a Trinidadian restaurant thinking back. I should've gotten the mauby. The doubles they were some of the best I have had even better than the ones my girlfriend's mom used to make years ago. I can't wait to come back on a Saturday and try the pigtail and the corn soup. I also want to try the salt fish and callaloo. I couldn't get home fast enough all orders are made fresh this restaurant share space with two other restaurants but they could honestly stand alone and do just fine. Service was very slow. I wanted to like this place. End rating I tried it and it called for no encore! I ordered 2 doubles and a beef roti, waited 45 minutes or more. It was a to- go order. There were minimal other customers in the dining area and the way the place is set up I couldn't tell who they were customers for. To wait almost an hour for food for it not to be hot is insane! I asked for pepper in the doubles, I am totally familiar with T&T food and spices. I think it had a hint of pepper. Definitely no sniffing or lip tingling that I usually get when I eat Matouks pepper. The hostess told me that's what they use. So I was excited! Bring it on!The chickpeas in each double were minimal and the sauce was very runny. The roti ( got dhalpari) was not fresh which is understandable giving the time to make them, however a little heat from the baking stone goes a long way, or better yet wrap it in a damp cloth and microwave it. I went with beef to not deal with the bones in the goat, Which had sparse portions. I'm now trying to think if there were potatoes. I don't remember, so much roti you wouldn't miss if it was flavorful. Both the doubles and the roti were underwhelming. For $40 as a lunch I wanted great! This did not score that! I was overly excited for a T&T spot to come to Sacramento. When you know you know.. This will fill the void if you don't want to cook! read more

A truly wonderful new Caribbean restaurant....and finally one specializing in Trinidadian cuisine. The food is amazing and truly authentic. I've never written a review before but these women deserve the best reviews possible. Authentic, comforting, soul nourishing food and service/company. I went with a friend for a New Year's Eve lunch and she had the goat curry (excellent) and I had the beef. The chickpeas and potatoes and the curried mango were amazing - do not skip the pepper sauce! We also tried their homemade beverages and highly recommend. I took a piece of the rum cake home but it didn't make it home it was so delicious. I can't wait to go back for the vibes alone, but the food was stunning in that you could feel the love with which it was made. I was too busy enjoying the company of the owners, my friend, breaking bread with them to take photos, but you won't be disappointed. I'm hoping for their success! read more
