Seitan tacos with vegan cheese (so good, they are heavenly) have lately appeared as a special. In addition menu staples such as oyster mushroom, prickly pear cactus and fire-roasted pepper tacos and quesadillas, along with a wickedly delicious guacamole starter are the main vegetarian/ vegan fixtures. Cocktails are exquisite and the frozen margarita is quite possibly one of the best drinks on earth. Interior is relaxed, if a bit small/ cramped and I love the Mexican themed wall art and murals. My only criticism is that it's an inconvenience to have to go to the counter to collect and pay for your bill - especially awkward when with a group and you have to stand about trying to work out what everyone owes. As La Taqueria are a table service restaurant it would be much easier if a bill could be left to a table first to be looked at before payment. Not quite sure why they don't do this. The extremely helpful waiter allowed myself and a friend to sit on a table set for four! The waiter was impeccable throughout, promptly taking our order and ensuring everything was ok! The food was excellent, one of the best burritos I have ever had. Although the portion was huge it was so tasty that I could not stop eating. Today I went for a chilli beef burrito (medium). The burritos come with a healthy serving of salad and a few nachos! The whole set up is great - seats around 30 people and service is fast enough for you to grab some great food on your lunch break!

Tacos are soft by default, which I think makes good sense in terms of trying to hold them together when eating them. I'm happy enough about the food but after having to wait for weeks turning to months for this place to open, they could have given more consideration to the people-flow aspects of design and layout. If the place is busy, the queue obstructs the flow of people from counter to seating. Then anybody sitting by the window has to cut through the queue to access the waste bins. Surely there are better ways of doing this. The counter could have been operated in the opposite direction with the queue directed anticlockwise around the wall by a balustrade. Then anybody leaving the counter could access all seating areas and bins without crossing the queue or squeezing past it.

The Queso as you can see from my attached picture was basically a table spoon full, the chips were caked in salt and stale. My burrito bowl was missing the extra Queso that I requested was put into it. Also I'm upset my bowl was a quarter empty when everyone else who had ordered had there's filled up to the top.
