Definitely a must-try if you're craving Hawaiian-style poke!…read more Closest poke to Hawaii I've had in the SGV area. The fish was incredibly fresh and well-seasoned. Service was great. The dining area is very small, so I'd recommend getting your order to-go. Regular Poke Bowl ($19 each) We got 2 regular bowls, each with 2 choices of fish and 1 side. They give you a generous amount of fish! Premium poke is available for an additional $2. They also sell poke by the pound, which is a great option if you want to bring some extra home!

I stopped by Unreal Poke in Arcadia for dinner yesterday and ordered the Kalua pork and poke combo…read moreplate. I believe it was one of their specials, and since I hadn't had Kalua pork in a minute, I wanted to try it out and see how ono it was. Having both Kalua pork and poke on one plate sounded like a good way to satisfy the craving without having to choose between the two. My order initially came out as just a Kalua pork plate, but the staff were quick to correct the mistake and provide the poke at no extra charge. I really appreciated their kindness and generosity. There wasn't any hassle, and they made sure I had what I originally wanted. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but the way a business handles them makes a difference. Their service stood out in a positive way and made the mix-up a minor part of the visit rather than something that took away from the experience. I've been here before, and the staff have always been nice and welcoming. That consistency carries over to the poke as well. The quality has been reliably good whenever I've ordered it, which makes this an easy place to keep in mind when I'm craving a poke meal. Between the food quality and the competitive pricing, I feel good about coming back. The space itself is a little small for sitting down and eating, so I'd personally treat this more as a takeout spot. It's a great meal to bring home or enjoy at a nearby park, especially if you want a little more room to relax. Overall, Unreal Poke has been a solid local option for consistent poke, reasonable prices, and a team that treats customers well. I appreciated how they took care of me this visit, and I'd definitely be happy to return the next time I'm craving poke.

Had the pleasure of trying KA Ibigan Cafe as a pop in front of Green Grocer in South Pasadena…read more I initially spotted them as we ran by with my cross country kids on Saturday. Got lucky when I drove by on Sunday..tada, they were posted up again. A very unique and interesting Mexican/Filipino fusion menu. Took me a ht minute to decide but ultimately landed on the ube latte with pandan foam. My drink was ready to go and I couldn't wait for that first sip. Yum! There was a strong, rich flavored espresso followed by the sweet, nutty flavor of the ube and pandan mix. I checked out their Instagram page and I might just have to follow them around. There's a whole menu left to explore. Hope to run passed their location again soon.

A delicious and refreshing spot for a coffee or sweet treat!…read more Are you looking for a cool pick-me-up after your weekend pickleball game? KA Ibigan is a moment's walk from Farnsworth Park, and the best nearby spot for a coffee or snowcone! You can even text or call in your order in advance, and have it ready when you're done at the park. This family-owned local small business is expanding with community support and lots of buzz (from the coffee and the happy customers)! As of early July 2024, hours are Fri thru Sun 8:30am - 4:00pm, and looking to expand. Keep an eye on their Instagram for updates. Look out for their welcome sign directing traffic from Lake Ave. This adorable coffee shop is a converted equestrian trailer, with a classy and hip midcentury feel. Plenty of street parking nearby. Beautiful neighborhood location. The staff are friendly, helpful, and all-around lovely people. They're ready with treats for your dog or lollipops for your kids (and available coffee-free treats on the menu). The ube latte is vibrant in color and flavor, packing a stellar ube taste that's in line with the best boba spots of Pasadena. The almond roca latte is smooth and rich and not overly sweet like many typical twists on this flavor. If not just for the drinks, come for the foam! Their cold foam is silky and creamy, the perfect topper to a latte. The Pandan Cold Foam is dreamy -- I could absolutely eat a cup of it on its own. Drinks made standard with dairy-free creamer. Keep an eye out on social media for updates on sweet offerings like mini pancakes and other specials.

Was signed up for this run by my sister and at first I was a bit disappointed because I had other…read moreevents I wanted to attend and couldn't because this run starts at midnight. The run ended up being super fun and memorable. You have the crowd that's camped out for the rose parade cheering you on and the regular club goers and bar hoppers just out and about. I would recommend getting down to the area before 9 pm, as they close the streets off after that time and you may not get access to the parking structure and have to park far. We got there right after they closed the street to turn into the parking structure but one of the crowd control volunteers graciously let us through. As for the run, the temperature dropped but we were still warm from running, They give you an hour to complete the run and we were able to finish in under an hour. We were required to wear a wrist band that we picked up 2 days earlier in order to get wine after we completed the run. They never checked for wristbands and you could easily walk up and grab a small plastic cup with this but they gave you literally a sip of wine and nothing more. By the time we got to our car and home it was almost 3 a.m. but I had all this energy and couldn't fall asleep right away. Great way to run into the new year and get your first workout in. One last thing, we got there early enough to catch 3 floats going down the street which was cool to see up close. Definitely recommend this to everyone it's tons of fun, you feel accomplished and you get a really cute medal and a discount at Lulu Lemon!
