As with most small shops, the prices are a bit higher than buying from a large online retailer, but Harbor Light's selection is so well curated and fun to browse through that it makes 'shopping local' a no brainer. After going tot he one in the Natik mall we gave this location a try! This one is much closer to us…read morein Boston. So this location works like any other build a bear store. We had gone because from our last purchase we got a free $10 off on our next purchase in the store. So we got to walking around and found one we liked. We then went over and picked out a voice box this time around. (Last time we got the beating heart!) You then wait in line to have your bear stuffed! When its your turn they then ask you if you would like your bear soft, hard or some wheres in the middle? We picked the middle. Seems to work best that way. They then stuff the bear for you! Then tie up the backing for you. At this point you then go and pick out anything else you would like the bear to have/wear. We got a shirt, pants and hat. You then go to a computer and put all of your information in. It makes the bear a birth certificate. Its pretty easy! Any young child could do it. The computer walks you through. Its pretty clear on its own. It then prints it out for you and you then go to the front counter to pay for your bear. Now this time we didn't have much reaction with the employees at this spot. Now normally that's not really an issue. The only problem is after they rang us out we saw a sign saying we could have had another whole bear for only another $5 for spending over $35 in the store....So they didn't wanna re-ring it out and told us they wouldn't be able to give us that deal. So that was sorta lame. If your a sales employee its your job to tell us about the sales. Mainly because its around Christmas and it would have been a GREAT add on for a gift for someone. Oh well! Over all the time spent here wasn't bad. I am taking 2 points off for not telling us about the bear. Just thought an easy reminder to us would have been much better. An ok 3/5...Some things could have been better! Well let you know if they are better on our next visit!

There were other people in the store at the time and they did a terrific job managing multiple tasks while gift wrapping the present, suggesting a card and checking me out. My wife and I have been coming here for years and have always found the selection to be topnotch and the service exemplary. The store is a real treasure in the town of Milton.

I would not recommend this business based on my experience…read more I registered my children for a summer camp and paid in full. After multiple snow days, the school calendar was extended and they were still in school during that week, making attendance impossible. When I requested a refund, I was told that a large part of the tuition was non-refundable based on a policy that was never disclosed during checkout, on the payment page, or on the receipt. There was also no requirement to review or agree to any policies before completing the purchase. Even after providing screenshots showing this clearly, the response from the owner, Jaryn, was completely inflexible. There was no willingness to acknowledge the lack of disclosure or work toward a reasonable solution. It ultimately took escalation from MULTIPLE families to get the issue somewhat resolved. I say somewhat, as we were still not offered a full refund. I'm glad I know this now as flexibility and understanding are qualities you would hope to see in a business that works with children and families, and unfortunately that was not my experience here. Transparency at checkout and basic customer consideration shouldn't require escalation.
