It's as good as it gets. The owners love kids and toys. Free gift wrap except when there's a big sale. Love them!

I gave the address knowing it was less than four miles away from the recipient. I asked for suggestions as I wanted more of a plant than fresh flowers. The woman who answered the phone suggested a dish garden. I asked her how much and she quoted me a price. Shame on me for not asking for the "total" price as I was charged 35% more than the price given over the phone by the owner's sister. When I called back to ask about the charge on my card I spoke to the same woman and she stated that there were charges for delivery, tax and credit card processing fees. I'm not completely surprised now that it has been explained to me but it would have been better to be told the total price when I asked upon initial order. When I explained that I was surprised with the amount I was charged on my card today, she stated that "everyone" knows that there is a delivery charge and credit card processing fees with an attitude. It's not always what is said but how you say it.

Not only did they create a GORGEOUS arrangement and deliver it a few hours later, but it was exactly what I asked for -- and a very reasonable price for such a beautiful bouquet. Talking with Gerry about it, he let me know they had a used one available for purchase. It seemed like a good deal and I did buy it. Everyone has been helpful and nice. I like to buy local, and Hunts is super place to get what you need from local people. 100% recommend.

It's tough, man. I want to support local businesses; having local photo shops is rare and not…read moreeverybody is so lucky. But this Hunt's is a great example of why they're a dying breed. Selection is fine, but prices are not--everything I've looked at there is manufacturer list price when online retailers are often cheaper. They only stock high-end accessories that aren't much better than the no-name equivalents (and aren't 200%-the-price better). Staff is mostly friendly but aren't that helpful compared to online reviews and aren't allowed to let customers try gear in the store, so what's the point? Not good for resale, either. The manager taking a look at my gear (which, granted--old stuff!) grumbled (kinda rudely, to be honest) at me about how nobody wanted old stuff, they say they pin to B&H used prices but he could only give me $60 for a Panasonic GH4 because who wants that? Meanwhile KEH took two off my hands for $200 plus ten percent extra in store credit, and the week I went to Hunt's they had literally unloaded all their used stuff to a bulk buyer so wouldn't have been able to do the same anyway. (But they sell on Amazon, too, so I'm sure there are no used deals to be found.) Hunt's in Melrose got me started in videography in 2012, but things have changed, and this is no good at all.

Look... Walmart is not supposed to be, or provide a shopping "experience". You could say that about…read moreother department stores, and maybe even Target, not here. They have almost everything under the sun, but the idea is to buy it, pay, and leave. With that said, not all Walmarts are created equal, and this one falls somewhere in the middle, hence the three stars. There isn't a plethora of employees out and about, but I've not had a negative interaction. A handful of people have had better days, but for the most part, our interactions have been pleasant, and if someone didn't have an answer, they would find out. Furthermore, Walmart is cheap! Some staples like eggs, milk, cheese may be cheaper than the Stoppy right next door. If you find you buy these things on the regular, do take a look at the prices, a couple extra bucks saved definitely doesn't hurt. Likewise, don't overlook the pharmacy. After my insurance decided to no longer cover my medication, and a different pharmacy wanted an arm and a leg, Walmart came through. Sure, it's not open 24 hours, but you can get your meds at prices cheaper than most. (though, in the hopes of saving you a couple bucks, if you have a Costco or BJ's membership, as them their rates). In terms of negatives: The store is organized a bit funny, with mailing envelopes being quite close to bicycles! On the one hand, I realize there is only so much that can be done when you carry everything under the sun. On the other, look to what Target did in keeping all sporting goods in one area as opposed to two. Second, I feel as though the displays could be a little tidier. Items are stocked for the most part, but having them arranged a bit nicer would not hurt. Finally, while they do have four self-scan registers because there are not a whole lot of regular registers open, lines can get a little on the long side. I've heard someone describe Walmart as a blue Target. Well, these stores couldn't pass as twins, maybe siblings (but maybe), but definitely cousins.
