I was searching for a very specific brand of wine and although he pointed me to similar bottles, the wine expert at FCMP went online to research where I might find the exact bottle I was seeking. (Ends up it's not distributed in Massachusetts!) The fresh produce selection is comprehensive and staggering, with a surprising assortment of unusual greens and lettuces. Kinneally Butchers, under the same roof, has organic meats for a fraction of the prices at Whole Foods/Amazon. The checkout staff are unflinchingly pleasant and efficient, with a genuine greeting and eye contact with everyone who passes through the line. All in all, a pleasant and relaxing food-shopping experience AND a non-mega-chain, privately-owned local business.

When I arrived at the store to pick it up, I was early and asked an associate for assistance. Tree Berry Farm is near my in-laws, so it was a quick trip down the road. Thankfully, parking is in a grass lot off the main road, and you aren't expect to play Frogger with fast-moving cars on RR 123. There's lots of signage showing you where to park, where to pick up a bucket, and which sections are open for picking. Even at the height of blueberry picking, with lots of families around, there was still plenty of space to spread out, and lots of blueberries to go around! Jamie and I picked for about 15-20 minutes. If you're going to be there longer (i.e., if you have small kids), bring sunscreen and water! You pay at the same place you pick up (and return) your bucket. At $4 a pound, it can't be beat! We got about 2 pints worth of blueberries for that price. And the wonderful thing is, the flavor is far superior to that of the produce department at your local grocery store. They lasted a long time, too! For tourists and locals alike, blueberry picking is a must, and I can't recommend any place other than Tree Berry on the South Shore. It's the most organized and has the best blueberries anywhere!

I am glad I had a chance to visit before Thanksgiving to stock up on some goodies! If you've been to Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown, Four Town is kind of similar, although the rustic farmhouse-chic shop does not have a prepared foods counter. However, they more than make up for it with all the amazing vegetables and fruits grown onsite. I was very impressed with the Honeycrisp Apples and Butternut Squash, as well as their wide selection of house made jellies and salad dressings. In addition to Four Town's slate of offerings, they also showcase other local vendors such as Wrights Dairy Farm's milk and cakes and Venda Ravioli's frozen fresh pasta and sauces. Four Town also carries fresh flowers and greenery that is holiday-ready - Christmas Trees and decorative wreaths and evergreen garlands. The team is friendly and offers excellent assistance in recommendations and recipe ideas- everyone we interacted with was delightful. This is a great stop along the way to lunch or dinner in neighboring Warren or Bristol, and a lovely way to spend a weekend afternoon!

It seemed silly to buy a whole quart of firewood at the end of the season, so we've been going to the grocery store. The wood is sub par, wrapped in environmentally unfriendly plastic and pops A LOT! So when we were driving past this place in Milton, we gave it a shot. They are lovely and will load firewood into your car for you. I went on my way home while wearing a suit, heels and formal coat, and the gentleman helping us out would not let me touch a log. Their wood burns very nicely and is the perfect size. There are very few pops and the wood is high quality. We recently relocated to the Boston area, and had purchased wood from another source in NY. This wood is far superior to what we had previously ordered and we plan to order it in bulk next year. Bonus points, this quaint store has nice freshly baked bread, flowers and gourmet goods as well as some staples. Only thing I would recommend is adding some Iggy's baguettes. Cute store with excellent service!

We used to order directly from Thatcher Farms but stopped getting delivery a few years ago. I still like to grab a few from here or the Fruit Center Marketplace in the square every so often. I really enjoy their chocolate milk (they sell Hatchland Farms NH & Thatcher Farms), but today I saw that they had coffee milk too! Thought that was interesting but didn't end up grabbing... I must try it next time ;) Aside from the milks, they also carry popular beverage brands like Polar Seltzer cans, Oatly! Oatmilk, Welch's juices, Newman's Own, Tropicana, etc. They also sell bread, sandwiches, snacks such as cookies and candy, and fresh flowers that are displayed outside! In the fall, they have a bunch of pumpkins for sale & in the winter time, they usually have some Christmas trees you can buy! Very cute place & highly recommend if you're in the area.

Their produce is so fresh, the difference between their vegetables and other supermarket vegetables is night and day. Their meats are also exceptional - superb filet mignon. Lambert's offers curbside pickup so we can continue being "socially distant" and safe while filling our refrigerator and pantry full of fresh groceries. Although Lambert's may be a bit pricier than neighboring supermarkets, once you've tasted their fare, you realize the few extra pennies are more than worth the expense. We will continue to shop at Lambert's once the quarantine has been lifted and we are all safe again. We so appreciate the convenience, the quality and the generosity of this neighborhood gem serving the community in this time of caution and peril.

But the food I took to go, all presumably made in house, was lacking. One would figure being on the Cape, an establishment would be judged by its chowder. This was a decent soup but an unrecognizable chowder. Very fluid, not at all thick, and flavor tasted more like chicken stock and white wine. The scones were completely flavorless. Save the chunky bits of sugar on top. Cornbread was decent if not more like a cake. I wish the food matched the warm exchange I had with the staff. Lots of great parking and outside seating atleast.
