It seems like this clinic nickels and dimes. Their work isn't that great of quality, and they push…read moreunnecessary, or more expensive procedures. They twice told me I needed a crown instead of fillings. I got one of the crowns done, and then switched insurance to a very expensive one so on Jan 1st I'd be able to get the other one done. (They were not happy I wanted to wait a month and a half to get a crown). I saw a new dentist in January and he said I just needed a deep filling, and looked over my X-rays and said I never needed the first crown. They upsold me on a laser gum treatment and told me insurance would cover it.... It covered $40? I paid the remaining $150 out of pocket. I also got a bill from them 7 months post service saying insurance didn't cover something. When I looked at my insurance, it was denied for failure to submit the claim in a timely fashion. It took 3 phone calls before I finally said: "it looks like it was denied because it wasn't submitted by your staff on time, is that what you're seeing on your end" and magically the bill disappeared. Great personalities, terrible people, terrible treatment.

The front desk staff is incredibly welcoming, the waiting room is cozy, and best of all--zero judgment about my flossing habits (or lack thereof). I have been going to Dr. Franco for longer than I care to say and he and his team are absolute pros. They explain everything clearly, work gently, and even manage to crack a joke while wielding dental instruments like seasoned comedians. Problem is they simply have gotten too big and patients have to wait six months plus to schedule a simple cleaning appointment. I feel like a number and no longer a valued long term patient. Upon arrival, I was filling out forms and became very uncomfortable with a page of 'fees' based on a variety of scenarios such as calling to cancel an appointment within 48 hours of a scheduled exam. In the past, I have contracted a cold or illness before a scheduled medical appointment. These issues happen but this provider was going to charge you a hefty fee for calling to cancel an appointment 48 hours ahead of time...ridiculous. The one that bothered me the most was the transfer fee if you decided to go to another dental provider. This is when I decided not to use this dental practice. I understand when you fail to show up for an exam but when responsible people are being 'nickeled and dimed' this is where I chose to seek another dental practice.

Her office is warm and welcoming and the team there is so friendly and nice. Making an appointment is easy and convenient and they are great at reminders. I went in for my 6 month cleaning over my lunch break. They are quick, efficient, thorough and precise. When I was younger I had some dental work done, after consulting with Dr Wilson we came up with a plan and I scheduled my appointment for 1 week later (they could have gotten me in sooner but with my work schedule 1 week was my timeline). I have slight anxiety over dental work due to my childhood experiences, so I was a little nervous. Dr Wilson and her team got me settled in and took great care of me. She did such a great job at numbing me-I didn't even feel the shots for numbing. She was meticulous and precise and the results were amazing! At that former location, I always felt as if the provider was constantly trying to upsell products and services, and the conversations with them always seemed somewhat superficial and merely out of politeness. It's different at MiBoca, and especially with Tiffany O., an amazing RDH and genuinely good person. My doc (Hayes) is great, too, but it's the RDH who spends 30 minutes digging around in your mouth and with whom you get to know and love (hopefully). Aside from the approach to dentistry and customer relationships, the new facility on Pacific and 180th is very nice. Walking into a beautiful new facility just creates a better impression than some of the sketchy-looking practices elsewhere around town. Recommend!

However, this is the place you go for general cleanings, basic care (I did have a crown put in and the procedure went fairly well).
