She cleaned, made a few tweaks, did a test patch and it was perfect again. turns out I had the embroidery bobbin inserted from the previous owner.. I ended up getting the correct one and I'm so glad I did because once I got home, I couldn't find the regular bobbin. New to sewing, so still learning my sewing machine! They don't bother charging you the reduced price. And then insist you go get all your items again. To individually return them all. And charge you again. It was like an educational hands on field trip for us. Also a fun way to be more creative and collaborative with another ceramic studio. I had a fantastic experience last year and when I found out that we were going to be able to return this year, I jumped on the opportunity! They provide the glazes, the brushes and their expertise. There were several people helping us during this event. Every single staff member was an expert in Raku. They knew so much about their glazes and combinations, the entire firing operation, reduction and post firing procedures. There's a lot of down time while waiting for the kiln to reach its optimum temperature. We got to ask the staff all kinds of questions. They were eager to interact with us: warm and inviting, full of great advice and really knowledgeable ceramicists. Such great team work!They don't talk down to anyone, even praised some of our potter's art work. I loved hearing people share how they made their pieces, and I was proud to share my own story about the construction of my "bird bath" - as one of my fellow ceramicist called it. The participation between the two studios was phenomenal! Thank you Dave, Erik, Oscar, Mary, Darrell and Elise. Sorry that Scott wasn't with us today. You guys are fantastic!!! I was there Monday the 27th and 28 July different hours and the door seems to be closed like there's no business if somebody can let me know are they still doing service or us to buy anything candles but it seems to be close completely.
