Lately, however, I've been very disappointed over the rude treatment I've tolerated from one particular cashier. In my first encounter with her, she refused to apply a discount coupon toward an item I paid with a gift card. She stated that I couldn't use both. I called a manager later who confirmed that the cashier was indeed mistaken. Her attitude on subsequent shopping visits has been snarky. I recently endured another unpleasant experience with her when she flat out told me I couldn't use my $10 coupon on the items I wanted to buy. Turns out again she was mistaken. And the items were on sale but she argued with me that they weren't. This cashier needs some serious customer service training or perhaps should be moved to a position where she isn't dealing with the public. I dread seeing her when I shop.

This could be a great thing though, if you want to just get in and get out without trekking 40 miles through the usual two story ones you see in bigger towns. They were really friendly, but it is the bare basics. The store looked outdated, but had some pretty good sales going for Father's day.

I've been in many of Ross stores in different places. This particular store is kind of hit and…read moremiss. Sometimes it's well stocked and other times they're a little thin in some departments. First time I went I found my favorite shoes and a great buy on a Dooney & Burke hand bag. Nice bag under $100 which is almost unheard of. I love Ross and their great prices. Second trip was in late January and they hardly had any handbags. One thing about this Ross they're always orderly and easy to browse. There are many of Ross stores that are a mess. Very friendly staff and a clean store. This is now my favorite Ross.

Perhaps the most delightful surprise was discovering that we'd visited Reloved on Free Book Friday so the entire haul came home without a charge! In the end, we walked away with some kitchen tools, an apron, records, a pile of books, and two 100% wool sweaters that I can't wait to wear--all for $14.

I love going to thrift stores specifically for children's books because who wants to pay full price when my toddler hasn't learned to take care of their things yet.
