I'm giving this truck 3 stars because of the price. I ordered their special pupusa/loaded pupusa and for the price of $12.50, I was expecting it to be way bigger. It did come with a delicious elote en vaso side (we had options of elote or chips), but still disappointed in the pupusa. I was not full after eating that and I was a bit sad I could have spent it on something more filling. The flavor, though, was incredible. A-Mazing!!! I attended an event that was catered by this food truck and was excited to try it. I got to try both the beef and chicken sandwiches, elote, and fried plantains. Everything was perfect! The bread was nicely toasted, the meats were both very well seasoned, the melty cheese was a great combination, and everything was brought together perfectly with the sauce. Will 100% be following this food truck around to get these sandwiches again. And the elote was so full of flavor without being too heavy on the mayonnaise. We had The Toasted at Liberty Station the first time, and thought it was delicious. We had the Philly Cheesesteak, Mimi and plantains and all three were fabulous!! When we had the idea to use a food truck for catering at our annual Christmas party, they were the first we called, and they were available so we booked it! It was a hit! Grossly overpriced, another one of those trucks that come to our building jacks up their prices and wonder why people walk up and turn around and walk away . Fries are okay, but $11 for chicken fries seem right to you? $10 grilled cheese? Clearly no value for your money, especially with delivery options that are far cheaper, not to mention the trailer (truck) isn't exactly clean. I usually see this truck parked outside of Liberty Station, I finally had a chance to try it. If you think normal food trucks are small, take a look a this. Basically a trailer, and tiny. The guys here all work hard, and get the food out as quick as they can. About 15-20 minutes. Its Salvadorian food. Basically a menu of sandwiches and sides. I enjoyed the pork cheese melt with a side of fried plantains. Regular white toast. The cheese was regular slices, piping hot, and all gooey and runny (a good thing). Pork was a little overcooked and tough to chew on in parts. Good and filling, but a little plan. Plantains are OK, they put some kind of aiolli and I think feta on as well. Which wasn't bad, but a little odd. I do like this truck, and you have to love the guys attitude that works here. Maybe not my favorite food truck, but I am sure I will be giving them more tries at Liberty. read more

This truck was one of the few outside of our building today for Food Truck Friday. I chose this one because it has been a while since I had pupusas. Keep in mind my Salvadorian grandmother always made them from scratch, so I'm a hard customer. That being said, I was definitely not disappointed. The pupusas were fresh, and a decent size. Delicious! They were served with red beans and rice and Salavadorian cheese. I was a bit disappointed as the rice was dry. The pupusas were second recommended, the first was the signature bolillo; my friend got this and we agreed I would share mine and she would share hers. Yay for sharing! Because this was the signature dish, I expected the best flavors but I did not get that. The bolillo was rather tough to chew on, and the bites I enjoyed most had cilantro but there wasn't very much cilantro for each bite. The man who runs the truck was very sweet and welcoming. Overall, I will def go for this truck again and try a different dish because those pupusas were yum!! read more

Papusa was stuffed with chicken and cheese and full of flavor. Cabbage & sauce were nice. Cheeseburger melt was fresh, hot and hit the spot when you're drinking beer outside in Texas. The food was INCREDIBLE! I've had pupusas before, but these were on another level. They make everything to order so it's so fresh and delicious! We did the full menu, and other popular entrees were the bolillo sandwich and the cheesesteak. Everyone was raving about the food! The elote was on point as well. They do fresh blueberry tea and strawberry lemonade, and their dessert sandwiches are amazing too! On top of all that, they are so nice and great to work with. Being Salvadorian myself, I WANTED to love this food truck badly. I love supporting local businesses, and this was right up my alley. Sadly, I did not. My boyfriend and I ordered the pupusas cause well, if you'd ever had a pupusa and you see it on a menu that's what you order without a doubt. I ordered it with rice and beans and he ordered them with plantains. When they first came out they looked a bit pale instead of the golden color. The stuffing was scant and I felt like I was searching for more cheese when there wasn't any. The stuffing is supposed to be the best part! Long story short, I think it was undercooked and both my boyfriend and I got sick. It makes me so sad, and it may have been just an off night.
