I only been there once for maybe 30 minutes so I intend to update this review if I go there again. The location is an inherent handicap at this place, it's located next to a Sprout (Grocery Store) and behind a DQ in a strip mall in a bedroom community so character is lacking by default. However, the interior decor is fairly well done and managed to be modern without being tacky. Noise level is good and you can be heard without raising your voice. I am as clueless and layman as you can get with cocktails so I won't be a good judge for the cocktails. However, I found their Guave Margarita enjoyable. (I do have some experience mixing margaritas in my younger days.) The bartender is ok. She seems to be friendly with other customers and we communicated just enough to get the orders across. I don't think I catch her name though. I ordered a couple of Mozzarella - Pesto - Roma Tomato bruschetta and they some of the best I ever had. As for cocktail bars, they are intended to be on the more extravagant side for volume of food/alcohol you get for the price you pay. This one is no exception. If you want to chow on some wings and get a good buzz on the cheap, this is probably not the place for you. However, I see it as a good location if you have friends from bigger cities to entertain (not to impress) or for romantic dates. Conversation wise, there isn't enough patrons when I went and everyone there went as a couple of group so I didn't get talk to anyone. That's more or less the population at the time rather than the atmosphere. Overall, I recommend the place if you have the right expectation. Glendale is not (e.g.) Toronto or Charlotte so you can't expect the same character offered by bigger cities. However, it is still a good place to have fun with friends or the special someone if you are willing to shell out more for the more upscale-like atmosphere. read more

I stumbled upon this establishment while at Sprouts next door and suggested it for a happy hour with friends. The aesthetic is pleasing and definitely adds to the overall vibe. Between the three of us, we ordered the following: house margarita, a DIY grapefruit cocktail (the owner approached us and was really helpful when a specific cocktail that we wanted wasn't on the menu), red sangria, and the Tipsy Martini. No complaints on the drinks and our server was great! We are definitely going to come back for food as the menu looks delicious. If we could come up with a different name, we would call it "The Vino" as we think it adheres to the aesthetic and overall experience! read more

I really really really wanted to like this place when I saw that it opened. I moved to the Upper West Side PHX about 3 years ago from Old Town. I have been dying for a good wine bar up this way so I got super excited about this. We went in recently and I was incredibly disappointed. The server had absolutely no knowledge of wine, which I found shocking for a wine bar. She attempted to tell me that Prosecco was Champagne. It is not and a person working in a wine bar should understand that. Also, their wine selection was pretty dismal for a wine bar. We also ordered the charcuterie board, and honestly the quality of cheese in the fruit and cheese protein box at Starbucks was higher than the quality here. I was incredibly disappointed in the overall experience. It's too bad, because I really wanted to like this place. The decor is cute and the prices aren't crazy high, but the food quality is poor, so I understand why they can't justify higher prices. Tried this place out for the first time last night. The wine/drink menu and food options were decent, but as another reviewer mentioned, don't go hungry. Food portions are appetizer size, at best. The atmosphere and decor are lovely, but I feel the prices are high especially for the quality of food they serve. I can also see where the staff and owner come across as less than friendly. Especially the bartender. We tried to talk with her a few times and she was less than interested. They were accommodating and the service was good enough but there wasn't anything about the experience that knocked my socks off and for the price at least one sock shouldn't been knocked off. read more

What a great place! We were so impressed starting with the inviting decor and everything after. Our server Paige was so friendly and helpful with drink choices. The roast beef sliders, charcuterie board and margarita pizza were all delicious. The horseradish sauce with the sliders and spicy mustard with the charcuterie board were perfect accompaniments. Everything about this place makes it a must stop! The menu has something for everyone and really covers all tastes. Michael was awesome explaining the menu and had exceptional drink recommendations. I had been wanting to try The Tipsy for months as the west valley is really missing a good wine bar. Hubby and I went with another couple on a Wednesday night at 6pm. Like most restaurants in Arizona the Tipsy is located in a strip mall but we were pleasantly surprised at the nice décor with pretty chandeliers though the openness did feel a little cool and they might try to lower the lighting to create a more intimate feeling and escape the 'we are located next to a Dairy Queen' feel. The menu offered not only wine but cocktails so we first ordered martinis and then wine for our second drink. The martinis were good but not an overly generous pour for $14. Their signature martini was on happy hour price for only $10 but it would have been nice on a slow mid-week to have more of the cocktails or wines on happy hour prices. We also ordered bruschetta boards which were very disappointing. It was nothing more then a very small piece of toast with jam and a few crumbles of topping. I suggest the owners visit Postinos to understand how to prepare bruschetta especially as Postino has now communicated they are opening in the west valley. The rest of the food was salads and sandwiches were average. The server did not suggest anything off the menu or seem particularly friendly and at one point a man stopped by our table who I assume might have been the manager but he only awkwardly said hello. I truly wanted to love The Tipsy and if you live close by I would give it a try as they will hopefully improve but for us living in north Peoria it was not worth the 30 minute drive. read more

The other night a few friends and I came in to have some drinks and a meat and cheese board. We were severely disappointed. The service was less than average; our server was less than attentive and even somewhat rude. We ordered many different cocktails only to be disappointed by them all. They all tasted like juice, even the two martinis we had at the table! Before ordering the meat and cheese board, make sure to check out the Yelp photos. We were incredibly disappointed with almost an entire plate of grapes and a few slices of bread that weren't even toasted/warm. Went there tonight and it is extremely overpriced. The charcuterie broad was thin sliced meat and little pieces of cheese. The grapes were a little wrinkly. I ordered and aperol spritz and it was terrible. No garnish or splash of soda. So bitter and hard to drink. We also ordered the bruschetta and it was 3 small pieces of French bread with barley anything on it. 152 dollars later and nothing to show for it. Never will return. EVER. read more

Very disappointed. After speaking to the owner, discussing an event on 12/31 for a bridal shower my friend coordinating the event called to finalize logistics and she was told by the owner that he booked a event for that day and time that he agreed to let us use the sapce. We spoke to him, discussed the plan, the time, the day and we left there thinking we were set with that as a venue. I was hoping that this could become a new and local bar for me and friends, but after this behavior from the owner I will NEVER go back and WILL let everyone know that will listen about this rude and unprofessional behavior from the owner. Terrible. One in our party had a service animal. He is a veteran. Apparently, he gave the dog a bite of food. The Manager asked us to leave. WHAT...he said he was going to call the police. Really...just tell the person not to feed the service dog but no...he demanded we leave immediately. Way over reacted...I've never seen anything like it. He would not even allow us to show our service papers..he just demanded we leave. To treat a veteran that has served our country so poorly. It's a disgrace! My husband and I decided to give this place a try as it's so close to our home. We sat at the bar and felt like the bartender was unhappy performing his job. Not sure if he was the actual owner or not, no personality and looked miserable. The waitresses also looked miserable and never smiled once. The atmosphere was stuffy and pretentious, seems like they want to upscale in an urban setting. We ordered our usual vodka and soda water which we had to return due to the soda water being flat. He ran the soda gun and remade the drink. There was no interaction at all between bartender and us, and we felt like he really didn't need our business. The final decision to not return came when we got the bill. The drinks were $13 a piece which is just outrageous as they weren't even specialty cocktails! This isn't Scottsdale or New York! I don't believe this place will survive with the competition of Cold Beer and Cheeseburgers right in the same parking lot. read more
