I stumbled upon this establishment while at Sprouts next door and suggested it for a happy hour with friends. The aesthetic is pleasing and definitely adds to the overall vibe. Between the three of us, we ordered the following: house margarita, a DIY grapefruit cocktail (the owner approached us and was really helpful when a specific cocktail that we wanted wasn't on the menu), red sangria, and the Tipsy Martini. I really really really wanted to like this place when I saw that it opened. I moved to the Upper West Side PHX about 3 years ago from Old Town. I have been dying for a good wine bar up this way so I got super excited about this. We went in recently and I was incredibly disappointed. The server had absolutely no knowledge of wine, which I found shocking for a wine bar. She attempted to tell me that Prosecco was Champagne. It is not and a person working in a wine bar should understand that. Also, their wine selection was pretty dismal for a wine bar. We also ordered the charcuterie board, and honestly the quality of cheese in the fruit and cheese protein box at Starbucks was higher than the quality here. I was incredibly disappointed in the overall experience. It's too bad, because I really wanted to like this place. The decor is cute and the prices aren't crazy high, but the food quality is poor, so I understand why they can't justify higher prices. Tried this place out for the first time last night. The wine/drink menu and food options were decent, but as another reviewer mentioned, don't go hungry. Food portions are appetizer size, at best. What a great place! We were so impressed starting with the inviting decor and everything after. Our server Paige was so friendly and helpful with drink choices. The roast beef sliders, charcuterie board and margarita pizza were all delicious. The horseradish sauce with the sliders and spicy mustard with the charcuterie board were perfect accompaniments. I had been wanting to try The Tipsy for months as the west valley is really missing a good wine bar. Hubby and I went with another couple on a Wednesday night at 6pm. Like most restaurants in Arizona the Tipsy is located in a strip mall but we were pleasantly surprised at the nice décor with pretty chandeliers though the openness did feel a little cool and they might try to lower the lighting to create a more intimate feeling and escape the 'we are located next to a Dairy Queen' feel. The menu offered not only wine but cocktails so we first ordered martinis and then wine for our second drink. The martinis were good but not an overly generous pour for $14. Their signature martini was on happy hour price for only $10 but it would have been nice on a slow mid-week to have more of the cocktails or wines on happy hour prices. We also ordered bruschetta boards which were very disappointing. It was nothing more then a very small piece of toast with jam and a few crumbles of topping. I suggest the owners visit Postinos to understand how to prepare bruschetta especially as Postino has now communicated they are opening in the west valley. The rest of the food was salads and sandwiches were average. The server did not suggest anything off the menu or seem particularly friendly and at one point a man stopped by our table who I assume might have been the manager but he only awkwardly said hello. I truly wanted to love The Tipsy and if you live close by I would give it a try as they will hopefully improve but for us living in north Peoria it was not worth the 30 minute drive. read more

Went there tonight and it is extremely overpriced. The charcuterie broad was thin sliced meat and little pieces of cheese. The grapes were a little wrinkly. I ordered and aperol spritz and it was terrible. No garnish or splash of soda. So bitter and hard to drink. Very disappointed. After speaking to the owner, discussing an event on 12/31 for a bridal shower my friend coordinating the event called to finalize logistics and she was told by the owner that he booked a event for that day and time that he agreed to let us use the sapce. My husband and I decided to give this place a try as it's so close to our home. We sat at the bar and felt like the bartender was unhappy performing his job. Not sure if he was the actual owner or not, no personality and looked miserable. The waitresses also looked miserable and never smiled once. The atmosphere was stuffy and pretentious, seems like they want to upscale in an urban setting. We ordered our usual vodka and soda water which we had to return due to the soda water being flat. He ran the soda gun and remade the drink. There was no interaction at all between bartender and us, and we felt like he really didn't need our business. The final decision to not return came when we got the bill. The drinks were $13 a piece which is just outrageous as they weren't even specialty cocktails! This isn't Scottsdale or New York!
