Not sure why turning over tables is important when you're 25% full and there's no one waiting. The food was bad. The margherita pizza was so salty we couldn't eat it and when the waitress asked if we wanted to take it home and we said it was inedible, she just shrugged. Let's start off with a trend that I am seeing more and more in the service industry. Experience is lackluster. We went here for a night to chill after friends had suggested that we may enjoy since we enjoy wine and a good atmosphere. We were greeted quickly enough and when describing our taste the server brought something that did not describe what we asked for but kind of close. The female server did not seem extremely knowledgeable but we know there is always a learning curve. We order appetizers and started to settle in. Once we got our food we couldn't seem to get anyone to come back to our table. There were only two people at the time on the floor, The gentleman working the bar came over and asked if we needed anything. He was very curt and we described what we were looking for, tastewise. We saw a type of wine that sounded good and asked if we could try a taste. He said, "oh we do not have a bottle of that open but I let me get something you will like" First off being a wine bar how do you not have or are willing to open up a bottle for a customer to try when it is not sold by the bottle. The wine he brought back was nothing like we described. But it did not matter much as no one ever came to ask if we were ok or enjoyed the wine at all. After all that we had to chase down the male server just to close out. When you are spending the prices of food out and about these days we should all be having a great experience but this was not that. I would suggest that Tipsy have a look at the reviews and see what they can do to improve the service. It would change a lot and create a better experience. read more

Went for some drinks and light eats. I had a delicious red blend and my friends had spicy marg's. We sat outside as the weather was perfect. The inside is larger than expected. The server was prompt and attentive. We ended up sampling the ceviche, roast beef sliders, margarita flatbread, crab cakes and bacon grilled cheese. Best local find!! I was living in norterra which is surrounded by typical chain restaurants and found myself driving 30-45 minutes just to get a decent glass of wine! Recently moving to north Peoria I stumbled upon the tipsy and I was instantly impressed !! The ambiance itself was the first thing that Intrigued me, elegant and welcoming but not over the top. Then I saw the wine menu and it was all over I was a happy customer! It is so rare to find a great wine selection at any restaurant these days so when I saw some of the great varietals they had I knew I'd be coming back. Of course ambiance and menu items are crucial but the staff is very welcoming and accommodating as well! My friend & I finally made it to The Tipsy. I've been dying to go for awhile. The Tipsy is a cute wine bar on the north side of town (thank goodness someplace fun out here‍). They had a myriad of cocktail options to choose from. As well as a solid selection of bourbons. We opted to go with their signature martini aptly named "The Tipsy Martini." It was delicious. We both loved it. We also ordered the humus & pesto flatbread. Both were delicious as well. We smelt the flatbread coming out of the kitchen & couldn't wait to try it. Walking in, I am impressed, this is a lovely upscale cocktail bar. Gorgeous decor, lots of different types of seating, comfortable for everyone. The bartender was friendly welcoming, introduced himself, and was happy to explain the menu. We had two different types of martinis in the margarita flatbread, and it was delicious. One of my friends ordered Hummus with Veggies, it was tiny and sad; and again very overpriced! Our server was attentive, possibly a little too attentive and came over every few minutes. I appreciate the effort but when you're in a bar socializing it is kind of a buzz kill to have to stop conversation to say "yes, we're good, thanks". The service is terrible, the older man and woman working on 7/2 were so rude. I went in with three of my friends and we all agreed the atmosphere was hostile. I ordered the Rocky Point Shrimp, it tasted like shrimp tossed on flavorless tomato sauce. I told the server I didn't really enjoy it--I took one bite. The man at the bar then proceeded to pull me aside to argue with me about paying for the entree. He was offended I didn't like it and seemed like he wanted to charge me regardless of whether or not I ate it. We've been there 3 times, had drinks twice! First time was amazing, male bartender on a Saturday afternoon, pretty busy, made an excellent Manhattan for my husband, I had a wine, and we loved the bacon grilled cheese sandwich, 5 stars! Second time, it was super busy and even though they had a whole 6 seat table open/empty that was "reserved" we left after 15 minutes of not being seated. Third time, Friday night and pretty empty, female bartender. Old fashioned and a martini, tasteless and watered down. After taking our time drinking, disappointed with the lack of flavor, when we were finished bartender finally acknowledged we existed again with the comment "wow that was quick, did you even taste them?". We go here often. Know most everyone working here. Our favorite to share is the Mexican pizza which says it's made with ground beef. Well todays was filled with ground sausage and we did NOT like it. Can't fathom all the positive reviews as this place is as inviting as walking into a Medical clinic. Sterile, distant and cold. Server/manager walking around whistling non stop and crab cakes which were missing an integral ingredient, namely crabmeat, were 2 highlights. Overpriced "look at me" crowd talking about their over inflated home prices and battery issues w/ their Tesla's. Wow, we ran into this place by accident! What an amazing, beautiful place I could have sat there all day! So relaxing. We were greeted right when we walked in the door with a welcoming smile. Mike was very friendly and attentive and answered all our questions. The bar stools are a huge plus so comfortable, and the music was at the right volume not too loud, but you could hear the music. The decor and style of the restaurant was a nice change for this area. The food and drinks were also pretty good, but nothing we had was worth the price. My biggest issue with this place was the service. My wife and I felt like we were an inconvenience to the wait staff. Everyone looked miserable and stressed out.
