Hands down my favorite spot in Cocoa Beach! I'm slightly obsessed with their sofrito bowl; chicken for me, my husband usually gets the pork. It has such an interesting fusion of flavors, just love the creation.The last time we were visiting the area, I ate there twice over the weekend, it's that insanely delicious. In addition to the crave-worthy food, it has a laid-back vibe, awesome music and cool/retro games you can play while waiting on your order - which comes out pretty fast anyway. My friends and I went to The Tiny Turtle after the SpaceX/NASA launch. All of us really enjoyed our meals; the food was great. We had a fun conversation with one of the owners and the service was very good, especially in light of their shortened staff due to the pandemic. Will definitely make a point to come back next time I'm in Cocoa Beach. read more

Awesome food and easy going atmosphere! I had the small beef Sofrito and the chicken Pinchos. The Sofrito was a huge portion especially for the price. Sofrito has meat, black bean rice, sour cream, guacamole and a tangy cream sauce. The different favors meshed well and the small bowl was enough for a meal. The Pinchos has two chicken skewers in a Caribbean sauce. I can't describe the flavor of the sauce only that I ate all of that as well. The owners were very friendly. One of them told me that on Saturdays they smoke meats out on the patio area. If I come back to Cocoa Beach I will try some of the other times. sofrito is so friggin' good. the chef eats pork, no doubt. it was prepared with tinder loving care that only a swine connoisseur can give. They have a small option for the sofrito bowl which is the perfect portion size; no leftovers and no guilt because I lack the self control to stop eating when I am full. The mahi bowl was also tasty but super salty. It tasted like that fish had been swimming in brine it's whole life. They have outdoor seating so you can bring a dog. The staff is friendly. But they are on Island time so don't expect super fast service. Just chill, you will be rewarded for your patience. read more

Not much to add to previous great reviews. We had fish, chicken, and pork dishes, and all were excellent. If I had to pick one it would be pork - very tender and moist with lots of flavor. The rice complements the sofrito bowl as does the sauce. The only knock is the size of the large bowl. While not small it could be a bit bigger for the price. Perfect service as well. read more

I ordered the tripleta! Bomb! Friendly server. The slaw was yummy too. Only reason not 5 stars because my husband was a little disappointed in the size of his bowl He ordered a large and wasn't convinced on the portions. I tend to agree with that. This tiny place might be small but it's big in flavor. I have tried several different items here and everyone of them is great. The sofrito bowl, soup, burgers, and even their Caribbean Hot Dog are all good. It's located across from Cocoa Beach City Hall on Minuteman Causeway. Have lived on Merritt Island for 17 years. We are very happy to find the tiny turtle restaurant. Food on the island and in the Cocoa Beach area tends to be fried and touristy. The flavors at the tiny turtle are fresh and Island like. The only reason for four stars and not five, is the sofrita can tend to be a little Bland. Perhaps a side sauce to heat it up. I was offered your standard sriracha sauce when I asked for something spicier. Service was awesome, we will definitely be back in the near future! read more

Had the chicken and steak pinchos, the surf tacos with grilled shrimp, the ghost pepper salsa and homemade guacamole and the island roast pork/beef picadillo sofrito bowl. If you're vegetarian they have about one or two options which mostly involves lots of quinoa but please this place is incredible, the chips and salsa are really good too :-) Pretty decent beer selection also, they have IPA if you're lookin for it. read more

After all I've read, I was excited to bring 4 of my friends here for dinner and what a disappointment. We arrive around 5:30 ish and it's not too busy but service was slow and fragmented at best. 2 people in my party received the wrong meal, after another long wait, they received their meal only to have them both incorrect again. Opting not to wait any longer, they ate what was given. The food was cold but would have been better if hot. When checking out, the server asked what we all ordered and handed us menus so we could "remember what we ordered so she could figure the bill". What? We knew what we ordered its THEM that had no clue...so we give them our order once again (mind you, this was so THEY could figure the bill! ) when we finally get to the counter to pay, the girl tells us that "if they (my guests) want their meal comped they would have to call the manager but it would take a really long time to reach them". Who says this?! We didn't want anything free just an acknowledgement or an apology for the crappy service and cold food. All around this was a terrible first impression of this 4 1/2 star joint. I would suggest the manager get in and see what's going on with his staff...they won't be 4 1/2 stars for long! read more

This place is absolutely amazing. We were looking for a local place to eat lunch on our day trip to Cocoa Beach yesterday and we found this place by the great reviews on Yelp. It certainly did not disappoint! It's a very small, colorfully-painted restaurant a few blocks from the main causeway. We entered from the back and noticed there was plenty of outside seating, but we wanted to sit inside, which is very small. We ordered the Tiny Turtle chip basket as an appetizer, which came with a bowl of salsa, a bowl of guacamole, and a plate full of corn chips. It all tasted very fresh and delicious. The waitress was very friendly and partway through, the owner came over and started serving us because the restaurant was busy. I got the large sofrito bowl, which is a bowl with a base of black beans and yellow rice, as well as guacamole and a cream sauce. My bowl came with half beef and half pork... omg, it was the best thing I've tasted in a long time! The pork is uber tender and flavorful and the beef was cooked in garlic... so yummy! Also in the bowl were two grilled maduros, which remind me of plantains. They are very sweet and I ate mine last as dessert. I can't wait to come back to Cocoa and get another sofrito bowl because it knocked my socks off. read more

We have eaten here twice in two years. That may not sound like much but we live in Buffalo, NY so if we make a point of eating somewhere again after two years it has to be great.......and it is. Very casual, almost like eating at a beachside restaurant, this family owned restaurant has been in business for four years and the owner has taken his Puerto Rican roots and applied an interesting twist to make for a really interesting and diverse menu. We will probably go there again on this trip. Very pet friendly so take your pup with you. Highly recommended!! read more

Service was not particularly good - waitress did not seem to want to be working there... then they gave us very small portions.. the Mahi Mahi salad had a 2-3 Oz portion of fish... smallest I ever had. I asked the waitress if that was a normal portion and she said it was... I was shocked. I'm a local and never coming here again. Poor service and mediocre food. Lots of better places around. Update: Gluten Free beware was sick for 2 days after eating here def gluten specific symptoms, another person in party also had symptoms that night. Gluten/ bacteria or both? We waited one hour at 3PM to get our food- be prepared. After waiting over a 1/2 hour we kept getting told coming right out only to wait another 15 then another 10 minutes, then another 10. Previous response said reach out while still there, we did 3 times and nothing! Then the owners complained to me I gave them a 1 star- this has to violate yelp's policies and was very immature behavior. The food was delicious and the owner did come out after 4th attempt to get feedback so he could improve things. I wish u luck, you need to stop taking feedback so personally and serve in house patrons timely not prioritizing take out customers! You could have served the chips and salsa which came w the meal and let us know the wait expectation up front! You basically told us your food is worth an hour wait! Your waitstaff was pushing alcohol hard so makes one wonder why it took one hour to get such simple food albeit homemade! read more

Random stop in on a beach day. Parking was a little difficult, but the restaurant was relaxed and we had a chill place to sit outside. It was taco Tuesday, $2 or $4 tacos, and they were DELICIOUS. Tasty and fresh! A cute little spot tucked away at Cocoa. I got the pork tacos that came with chips and salsa. The salsa was so good; I wished I had gotten an additional side order. The orangish creamy sauce on tacos was also really good. I only wish the soft corn taco shells were toasted and a bit firm/crunchy. That additional texture would have been phenomenal. This place was really good. I decided to go here because of the reviews. I tend to stay away from chains when on vacation and this place was unique and under the radar. Almost everything on the menus was under $15 but most things were between $10 and $13. Obviously anything with seafood will raise the price above that. The portions were huge! I got the nachos with pork and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have leftovers for the next two days. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. I didn't think anything was too spicy (but I can handle spice) and neither did my sister who really can't handle any thing that is spicier than a Dorito. I will say how spicy something is probably depends on the specific day and the specific person who makes a dish on that particular day. I don't think the pork was spicy at all, though I can't say anything about the chicken as I did not eat it. I wish I hadn't been so full because some of their dissertation looked epic, specifically the Pina Colada Cheese Cake. Oh well guess I have an excuse to go back now. read more
