This place was delicious the sofritas bowl was so exquisitely bussin I wish I got a large. I will be coming back tomorrow for another bowl before we go home. Wow. The service was friendly as well along with the chill ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyed this place 10/10.

We headed right to Cocoa Beach after we landed in Orlando. We were really hungry, so we decided to try The Tiny Turtle--and we are so glad we did! Our server was so friendly, and got to our table quickly. We ordered drinks while we tried to figure out what to eat. The kids got meals from the kids menu--a pork quesadilla and a cheeseburger, both with black bean rice on the side. My husband and I shared the Sofrito Burrito with roasted island pork, and we had to try it "wet style" (with more of all the sauces on top--YUM!). Food was so flavorful and fresh! I saw the nachos going to another table, and those looked awesome, too! Glad we stopped in. HIGHY RECOMMEND!

We stumbled upon The Tiny Turtle when looking for a place to grab a late lunch after going to the Brevard Zoo and are so happy we did. It's 5 stars all around! Our server Grace and the other staff were great. The front patio is a great place to chillax with some apps and cool refreshing beverages. There's a nice buffer of trees so you don't feel like you're sitting right on the sidewalk. The Sofrito bowl with Mahi Mahi was amazing. The black bean rice with the guacamole and beach slaw worked so well together. Topping it with perfectly cooked Mahi completely put it over the top. I loved the way all the flavors complimented each other. The chicken and cheese empanadas were freshly cooked and tasted great. We can't wait to go back!

Small carribean inspired spot. I stopped in on a Monday during lunch hours in the off season. It was slow so the food arrived to my table quickly. I ordered a small sofrito nacho plate with mahi mahi. It had a hint of spice but was mostly covered in wet sauces. I love condiments & I love a saucy dish but it was a bit much with salsa, guacamole, sour cream & some type of house sauce. It all kind of overpowered the meal. It didn't really hit the spot for me. Menu is intentionally small and somewhat the same dish served in different ways; burrito, salad, bowl, nachos, etc. Service was great! Very friendly and welcoming.

I love the chill , island vibes here! They even played music from one of my favorite bands- Stick Figure. The CB punch drink was so tasty and delicious , it's a blend of the perfect amounts of rum and juices. Sofrito bowl was the best! Again, perfectly balanced flavors and fresh! Definitely visit here when you are in Cocoa Beach

A little slice of home in Cocoa Beach. Bravo Chef Moises! Hadn't had a tripleta like that since the food trucks outside University of Puerto Rico (UPR). Cafe con leche on point. Chill vibes.

Pros: Ambiance is very cool. Very beachy, semi-tiki, mellow and chill. There's a nice outdoor patio dining room that we sat in, covered to keep the sun out. Service was pretty good. Our server was nice enough, and the food came out in no time. No concerns there. As for the food, it was simple, but delicious. Who knew that adding some Island seasoning to some basic dishes can really make them pop? Cons: The server, who struck me as a manager, didn't have a good working knowledge of the drink menu at all, but we made due. Tips: Get the nachos, and get the catch of the day on them. If you've never had fish nachos before, you will love them. Also, get the burrito if you like burritos. Some breakfast burritos fall kind of flat and are disappointing, but these were gooood.

We came here one day while we were exploring the Space Coast a little bit. We have a buddy who lives out there, so we parked by his condo and walked over here to the Tiny Turtle. We chose the Turtle because it landed on the best places to eat in the US in 2024, which is a pretty prestigious list, so we were pretty excited. Ambiance was sooo chill. It's right next door to the best ice cream on the coast, the Fat Donkey. Thatched roof, tiki stuff, lots of outdoor seating. Nice vibes. Service was prompt and mostly the same: chill, beachy, islandy. Very nice lady. She struck me as the owner, or at least management. As for the food, we opened up with an appetizer. We got the nachos and for the protein, we chose the catch of the day, I think it was mahi that day. No one I was with had had fish nachos before, but they quickly became fans. The fish flaked well, and there were plentiful toppings that were layered well. It was also not a very large dish, so you didn't have to ration your protein too much. You could just eat and enjoy. I moved on to my main entrée, the Triple T Toastie (Scrambled eggs, white American cheese, shredded cheese, potato sticks, and Creme Caribe pressed in Sobao bread. Choice of veggies, bacon, sausage or ham. - Upgrade to all 3 meats). Of course I upgraded to all three meats. Very good sandwich. Excellent, quality fillings, bread that was pressed hard and delicious, and it was large enough to contain all the fillings and not be leaking out and falling out everywhere. A well crafted sandwich, paired well with the potato sticks that added a very satisfying crunch. I also got to eat half of a Wake up Burrito Scrambled eggs, potato hash, Queso Caribe, guacamole, sour cream, roasted tomatillo sauce, and Creme Caribe. Choice of bacon, sausage, chorizo, ham, Roasted Island Pork). Very good burrito, stuffed to the brim, and able to be picked up by hand, which was good, I don't like knife and fork breakfast burritos. Overall, this was a super chill, super cozy little place that can offer you a delicious breakfast before you head out to get your beach on. Or where you can send a runner to get some takeout and bring it to you while you're On the beach. Really nice. I hope to come back one day.

This place had such a cool vibe and the food was delicious.. we were new in town and wanted to get a unique experience after our beach trip. We stumble into this unique gem and did not disappoint. I had the sofrito bowl with roasted island pork, I initially orders the small size and regretted thinking I should've gone for the bigger size but the small was more than enough. The rest of my party ordered the sofrito burrito and they were all very impressed.

Holy crap this place has such big portions, but I am loving it! My husband and I ordered the sofrito bowl and cuban to split, and it was honestly so much food. We left feeling STUFFED - but it's hard to complain when the food was delicious. No regrets! The Cuban had a lot of meat and soft bread, which I appreciated because I don't like my sandwich bread to be too hard and painful to eat. For the sofrito bowl, I recommend getting the plantain and coleslaw as the added sides! I will definitely be returning!

We love it here! Even with all the bar options nearby, this is our go-to. It's never overly crowded and the employees are friendly and attentive. We have loved the empanadas and I had a DELICIOUS wrap today. The plantains seemed well cooked and were super good. Yum!

We chose here because the Florida Fresh Grill down the road was first place we picked but we left there because the service was awful and it was as dark as a cave. Funny how a bad place causes one to find an even better gem like Tiny Turtle. read more

We are slowly but surely checking out all the local joints in Cocoa Beach. This one was a real treat. Cute cute cute place with indoor and patio seating. You order at the counter and then sit and wait for it to be delivered to you. Small menu but everything on it looked delicious. I had the 3 taco basket (beef), hubby had the sofrtito bowl (pork) and we shared chips and salsa. First up.... Chips and salsa: chips were decent, as was the guacamole... salsa was deliciously fresh and cold. However, it really wasn't needed as my taco basket came with a side of chips and salsa. Next up.... Tacos: I ordered beef with corn tortillas.... All I can say is, Sweet Jesus! They were ridiculously good! The flavor was very unique. Hubby tried one of my tacos and agreed..... AMAZEBALLS! Finally.... The Sofrito bowl: Rice bowls are my husband's JAM, so I wasn't surprised at all when he ordered this. He ordered the large (you should too) and ate every last bite happily! The pork was tender, moist, and nicely seasoned. He now understands why this is one of their most popular items. We have mentioned this spot to 3 others since visiting 2 days ago. This place packs a powerful flavor punch! The sofritos bowl is outstanding and has so much flavor happening in each bite between the maduros, the pork and their to kill for creme caribe. I order a small serving of creme caribe to go to use at home even! They are eco friendly in their packaging is a plus. And maybe due to this, my complaint is their prices are high. I don't see these prices being an option for families of 2 or more with an entree and a drink costing around $20 including tip. The other negative is it says it comes with two sides, which I get the maduros and slaw, and for the side you get one maduro for the small entree and 2 for the large. The size of more or a garnish rather than a true side. The slaw is good but also tiny portion for what is considered a side order. I'd say give it a try but prepare for the price. read more

This is our first 'go to' dining establishment in Cocoa Beach .Food is amazing....personal favorite...Mahi BLT. Fun place for kids when dining outside! Just a great place to relax and have an amazing meal. They also have take out when you are in a hurry. This is a family owned business where the owners are always working ...sets a great example for their employees. Go there! read more

As a CB local Tiny Turtle is one of my favorite places to eat! I eat there every Tuesday for taco Tuesday and their soffrito bowls are amazing!! Their Caribbean fusion food is amazing and unique. They are awesome environmental stewards to our town leading the path to use of greenware and recycling. They also do a lot of charity for the community. Definitely a must do stop if you're ever in Cocoa Beach! read more

Waitress was nice but the kitchen was overwhelmed and it took over 45min to get food. They ran out of bacon so the mahi Mahi BLT was a disappointment. It was not worth the ratings that brought us in. Not going back. read more

It was good. not exceptional. Service was slow, they weren't too busy when we got there but they were when we left so maybe that's why. Food was kinda cold when it came out. I had the sofrito bowl and mixed the chicken and pork. I'd choose the pork over chicken in flavor but the pork was hard. Like dried out hard. I just really wasn't impressed. Based on the reviews of the Sofrito Bowl, this is not a normal experience so - if you get it - hope yours was better than mine and my friends. read more

I had a sofrito bowl at this sort of "hole in the wall" place we stumbled upon on vacation about five years ago. It was so memorably delicious it was the first place I wanted to eat at again in Cocoa Beach. There was plenty of seating outside so my wife and four kids and I had plenty of space. The waitress was charming and kind. The food nailed it just as much as I remembered. My two less adventurous kids ate a kids burger which they both loved, the other two went with a pork soft taco and pork burrito and loved it. I had the tripleta sandwich which was so flavorful. I was planning on having half, after sampling off everyone else's plates, but wolfed down the whole thing. My wife had the pork sofrito bowl and also had only good things to say. The pork had such amazing seasoning. Cannot say enough good things about the food and fun/chill atmosphere. read more

Favorite!! As a local I love fresh places that veer away from standard bar food like burgers, wings, fries. This is island style blend. Bowls, burritos and pulled pork sliders, so yummy! They close a little early on Sunday evenings so don't wait till it's late. read more

Cocoa Beach feels like home already, and part of the feeling is finding really great food served by kind and beautiful people! When I arrived I was greeted by multiple servers and even some local patrons. After ordering a Caribbean styled beer, I settled on some chicken nachos and wow did I order right! The chicken has a carribean fusion similar to jamaican curry, the cheese was shredded as well as saucy. Wow. The restaurant also has a plethora of well priced desserts to finish an amazing meal. In addition to the great atmosphere and kind waitresses, their selection of beers are incredible and far from the average crap frat boys guzzle down over spring break; to conclude, this restaurant also helps the environment by not serving straws and promoting a waste free eating style XD read more

This was our first time here. We were not sure what to expect but the reviews were very good. It was a very warm day and they only have outdoor seating. They are working on opening up an inside in the future. I had the mahi tacos and chicken tacos. They were good. They made him a common mistake with the Mahi in that they did not cut out the bloodline from the fish. But other than that if it was good. They had no fountain drinks available because the machine was being connected to the new location. So the beverages were lukewarm at best. There were a lot of flies so they do need to put some kind of fly bait out. We would go back again if we were in the general vicinity and will try once they open the indoor seating. read more

Found this place on yelp like many other people who have written reviews for this particular restaurant, and the reviews for it definitely give it justice. The prices were great, the menu was short and sweet, and the food was delicious. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and he was a very personable guy, very down to earth, and took pride in the food he served. Doesn't hurt that the recipes were from his abuelas kitchen. Great place, highly recommended. read more

The Mahi Mahi Wrap was so delicious! I also tasted the Grilled Caribe Shrimp Salad special and the flavors were amazing! The plantain chips are light and tasty as well as the slaw. The owner loves to make new creations all the time so you never know what will be in store next! It keeps you coming back for more. read more

I ordered the "Ocean Wrap" with Mahi. The plate also came with a coleslaw and plantain chips. It was wonderful. Fish was fresh. My wife had the quinoa bowl and she was loving it. The atmosphere reminded me of a awesome beach day culmination in Puerto Rico. This is how it's done. You go to the beach, and then you seek a spot with some great food to finish a perfect day. read more

Stopped by for lunch today with a group. This place is delicious with wonderful, attentive service. It is order at the counter and then sit down kind of place, pretty casual. Me: Fresh ingredients (bread, fish, etc) flavorful, and great value for the $. If you like spicy, see if they have some ghost pepper salsa! Friend 1: Local, friendly spot. It's like eating with friends who made really really good food. Friend 2: Hidden gem with both outdoor and indoor seating. Loved the fresh fish wrap with delicious toppings, great portion size. Friend 3: My favorite Cocoa Beach restaurant. Best sofrito, get the large bowl bc it's so good. Tip: They have a variety of beers including some beers from the Florida Brewing Company plus a variety of other options. read more

Family beach day! Stopped by here after a day at Cocoa. Nice little local place cool vibe and decor is nice. The staff was laid back and attentive. Nice beer selection and right next to an ice cream joint. I got a pork bowl, portion was nice pork moist and everything seasoned well. I recomend this place after a long day at the beach if u wanna take in some local vibes. read more

I'll start with this: It is not fancy - if you're looking for upscale dining, you're a few blocks in the wrong direction. It was tasty and kid friendly. I had a Tripleta sandwich, it was delicious as was the pork pincho bite I stole from my son. The sofrito nachos were a hit as well. We chose to sit outside and the lighting in the late evening left a bit to be desired. read more

History

Established in 2013.

Inspired by his Grandmother's and Mother's cooking, the flavorful Sofrito base of Puerto Rico, and his own restaurant experiences, Chef Moises has created a menu and environment that will transport you to an island experience full of flavor and a laid back feeling. Opening during the famed Art Show that happens every year in Downtown Cocoa Beach as what was called Food Truck Style, being just a kitchen on the back of a building with a patio and picnic tables for seating, it has now evolved into a full service restaurant but still giving that feeling of a small local "Hidden Gem".

Meet the Business Owner: Moises y Kelly C.

Born in Puerto Rico Moises' family moved to Florida in the 80's spending the first couple years in South Florida and then relocating to Central Florida. Always having the dream of owning his own restaurant he was given the opportunity after meeting a good friend a couple years after moving to Cocoa Beach. He had spent 2 years prior to the start of The Tiny Turtle gaining knowledge and experience in the restaurant field. Each opportunity he grew into lead cook, managing the kitchen and creating new menu items. He has been surrounded by many, including his wife Kelly, that have all had a part at helping him fulfill his dream and is forever grateful for the love and support.

I made a reservation for 6 at 1:30 pm on Mother's Day. When we arrived, we waited 10 -15 minutes in the host line before we were greeted. This, coupled with the fact there were lots of empty tables that had not been bussed, let me know that the restaurant was not equipped to handle the volume of customers and was in the weeds. When we told the host we were a party of 6 with a reservation, he seemed surprised and distraught - immediately leaving to bus one of the tables. A quality restaurant would have expected us and had our table prepared prior to our arrival. Multiple people in our party mentioned the host's frantic demeanor. I don't blame him - it was clear the restaurant was overwhelmed, despite so many empty tables. Was the kitchen backed up? We were sat at the table and the server was very pleasant - a very nice woman. She brought out the water - tap water which smelled and tasted a little funny. I would have expected filtered or bottled water, especially when the tap water quality was poor. At this point, given the above, we decided to leave. If the experience up to this point was not up to par, we didn't want to take our chances. We've seen too many Kitchen Nightmares episodes to take the risk. Chaos in the front of house is normally correlated to chaos in the back. Hopefully the restaurant takes our constructive criticisms to heart and tries to make some improvements. The buck starts with the management.

AMAZING! After a long day at the pier we wanted something healthy and filling. We were looking for Jamaican and came across The Tiny Turtle... what a brilliant find. We split the Islander Wrap and Tripleta and were in heaven!!! Whether you're a tourist or a local this is a MUST try. My family and I have been coming here since they first opened. We absolutely love their food, service, staff and atmosphere. The Owners are one of the nicest and most generous people I know in Cocoa Beach. Their pork and mahi sofrito bowls are to die for. So delish! Taco Tuesdays are still our fave time to come! Staff wear masks and plenty of outdoor seating. we also love that they are environmentally/ocean friendly and that is so important to our family and out community! We were a bit skeptical but the bowls of food (sofrito) that came out soon changed our minds. Highly recommended. Very moderately priced. Recommended. Heard a lot about the sofrito so I decided to order it. I could not believe how large of a portion it was and the taste was so unique and incredible. In total my meal was $13.15 for a large sofrito bowl and a drink with unlimited refills. Going to the Tiny Turtle made a positive memory on my vacation trip. read more
