Five of my ten tiles in front of my fireplace have a long crack that runs across them. We purchased the house when there was a small crack on two of the tiles, but it slowly took over all five on the second row. It irritated me so much that I knew I had to replace the tiles. However, it is a pain to try and match a random tile that was used over 20 years ago. Add to that the size of 13 by 13 and it turns into a miserable Easter egg hunt for the closest match. After figuring out both Home Depot and Menards really do not carry 13 by 13, let alone 12 by 12, as well as not really even being a good match I trekked out to the Tile Shop in Countryside. The sales associate showed me my two options. Two. This was all. Of course they would both also be out of stock and would have to be ordered. The gentleman who assisted me was very helpful and kind. Although he didn't have the supply, he called another Tile Shop that did. He also provided other alternatives, which I truly appreciated. Add that to the fact he was understanding about my plight and this gave me an overall positive view of The Tile Shop. read more

Beautiful product. Terrible displays. So outdated. This is 2020, not the 1990s. This is the only reason I gave them two stars. More than that, multiple employees were not wearing masks. They might put them on as you approached or they might not. And no hand sanitizer anywhere in sight. Complete disregard for the health and safety of their customers. The guy who helped me out had a mask that wouldn't even stay on his face, it was so old and loose. Too bad they had beautiful tile. I'll never go back to that location. They clearly don't care about the people who walk through their doors. read more

The Tile Shop has been an interesting experience. I have never designed a kitchen or bath and bought tile before this year, 2023. The first time I was in there, Alek/Alex helped me. What a nice man. I was looking for the backsplash tile behind the sink area. I had never done that before. Not loving shopping, I looked up and down the isles and came up with nothing. He recommended a tile and went and got it and it was perfect. Great service. Thanks Alec/Alex (sorry, I cannot remember the spelling.) I had a tile that is not easy to match for the bathroom. Travertine. It is not common any more and it seems as if white rules in design right now. Anyway, I went in again to get tile for the shower floor and the bathroom floor. I couldn't find any, so, the next day I spoke to the Assistant Manager, Bill, who said "Come in and I will help you find something". A couple of days later, I went in and in fifteen minutes, he found what I needed to match the Travertine, I liked the floor tile he showed me and especially the shower tile was stellar. Bill is now the manager. The Tile Shop is so fortunate to have this Navy Veteran with so much industry knowledge and charisma in full charge. It was refreshing to have his counseland expertise when he waited on me alone and when I stopped in the store to return extra left over tile the next day and Brian was helping me, it was great to see both him and his staff making customers and contractors happy! We bought tile from the tile shop to redo our master bathroom. We bought floor tile and shower tile here. I dealt with Tim, the manager, he was very helpful in finding the right tile, working with our budget, and giving us instructions on how to do certain things. He gave us great recommendations on what to use based on the color scheme we wanted. He is full of knowledge when it comes to his product. The customer service and dedication we received from him and his staff was so great. The store is clean and very well organized and the displays were beautiful! We will be redoing our guest bathroom and you better believe we will be going back to The Tile Shop! read more

Great tile selection, horrible customer service. It's basically the "old boys club." I've been in this store a half dozen times now and the service has been sub-par every time. I love their tile selections though. I'm convinced that this place must have terrible management that never sends their employees for customer service training -- or that the manager/management have terrible customer service skills so they have no idea what good customer service looks like. Like other people have mentioned in their reviews, the guys will be sitting on their butts at the back of the store while you stand in line for 20 minutes waiting to be run up. If you need / want great tile I recommend this place. But be prepared to wait a long time at the counter to be waited on, wait forever to get rung up or to place an order, have no one tell you they have more inventory in the back they can pull for you, or have people tell you they don't carry products you already got from them back that they don't know exist. And never assume they will call you when your tile gets in. Just prepare to do all the legwork with them. I will still go in here and buy tile because it is the best selection in the area. I just know that when I go to this place it's going to be a hassle. Every. Dang. Time. read more

Our purchasing experience with the Tile Shop with you was great. AS great as it was....the follow through from the store was dismal at best. Angry doesn't describe how I feel. When we picked this tile out, it was CONFIRMED that it was in stock and would be shipped to the Tinley store the next week. WE paid for the tile which should have reserved the inventory. When we called 8-9 days later because we haven't received confirmation it was at the Tinley store, we were told it was at Countryside. Nick (manager) offered to deliver it because of the mixup...no big deal. Delivery is set up for a couple days later when our contractor would be able to receive it (we are out of state). It was not communicated and made clear to us that the order was not being fulfilled in its entirety. The contractor asked us today when the floor tile is coming in. TOTAL SURPRISE TO US THAT IT WASN'T ALREADY THERE. Nick claim he told Bridget that the order being delivered was a partial order. We dispute that. At no time were we told the order was back ordered and would take 3-6 MONTHS! Obviously we would have not ordered that tile if we knew it was going to take that long. In our argument with Nick, he made a little slip up and sounded like our tile might have went to another person. My guess is a contractor who does a lot of business. I know that happens. We paid for the tile and was told it was at your Countryside location a few days before delivery. Our tile install was set for Monday 2/14. This delay is costing us money and future availability with the contractor and the subs. We are extremely displeased with Nick's handling of the situation. No offer of "how can we make this right" , it was more like tough shit and we can refund you. Needless to say, our  shopping at the Tile Shop has ended. Had to give 1 star because ZERO was not an option read more

Well, this store could have had 5 starts due to their selection of products but for me, customer service is a big deal. My guy and I walked in looking for tile for his new home and no one ever asked if we needed help. It was a Sunday afternoon, 4pm and the store wasn't busy. We saw several sales associates, some even watched us as we walked in and no one greeted us. We saw lots of tile we would purchase but because no one came to us, we left. Shame- we will take our business elsewhere. read more

Ordered some tile from here a month ago. Called repeatedly to find out when it would be delivered. Was assured I'd get it by the beginning of February. After original promised date had passed, i called to ask where the tile was. During that call i found out they forgot to order it, and theyd have it 2 day rush delievered. It's now over a week later. The tile has left the warehouse but they have no idea where the tile is (there's no tracking service they can use apparently) and because they can't find their own tile they won't reimburse me for a product i never received. I bought a replacement from somewhere else. so presently I've been scammed out of $1000 because they don't know how to manage their own inventory. Will be calling this a fraudulent charge on my card and will never use them again. As a tile store, your jobs are to 1. Have tile (and know where it is) and 2. Get it to people and they don't seem to be able to do either, and will charge you (and not take care of a reimbursement) for their mistakes. read more

I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Great customer service and great selection. I bought tiles here in 2013 and came back due to how well I was treated. Something has to be said for a company who goes out of their way to let you know why you don't need their services. I called the Tile Shop asking if they carried a specific bathroom tile (which they did) and let them know I needed to have a contractor come out, cut existing tile, do a tub install and then re-tile around it. After 5 minutes on the phone with Tim I have a solution that eliminates the need for a tile purchase, even though I would have gladly paid to go that route. He even took the time on the phone with me to explain exactly what I needed to do, and let me know to call back if I had any more questions. I don't need tile THIS time, but when we do I know where I'll go. A+ customer service and I already know we can trust them.Thanks Tim! read more

I would go to the other 2 options in that mall before thinking about heading here. They don't stand behind their "designers" or sales people. I was sold tiles for the same bathroom wall after working with a designer and was told the 2 I bought would be perfect together. I didn't notice until I opened 1 of each and started my job that they were dramatically different thickness. when I returned $180 worth of tiles, they wouldn't return the opened ones because they can't resell them... even tho I can't use them either and a designer advised me to purchase them and that they would work great together. To try to even them out from behind tiles was not an appropriate option for this project. Since I consulted a "designer" when purchasing a reputable place would have returned open and unopened. I got better expert advice and 2 great tiles that were same thickness and worked perfectly for my project at home depot for over $100 less. there's another tile company in the same mall that has great customer service.
