Tigers tale is a great local bar. The atmosphere is very casual usually pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights. The menu doesn't change much which I great. They have a lot of classics that keep me coming back. The best appetizer is the crab dip I love it. I really enjoy their wings also. Can't say anything negative about this place. This is my new favorite spot! It has a bar type atmosphere and is a little bit dark inside but the staff is so friendly and the food was delicious! We had a pretty large party, there was 13 of us. We didn't wait for anything, our food and drinks were delivered quickly. I order the lobster sliders, my daughter ordered the Day boat scallops special and they were awesome! This place was great years ago and has been sliding for years. It has since passed mediocrity and gone to crap. Kept giving this place a chance but I'm done. There are too many good places to waste another visit. The bathrooms are really clean and it's a cozy place too bad the food and service sucks. Went here for the first time a few days ago, walked in and got a seat at the bar right away. We ordered food to go, the fish tacos were SLAMMIN. Definitely would go back again for the food. Been shopping at the Shop Rite opposite for a while but never eaten here until now. We came here with our 2 yr old son for a quick bite to eat one evening. The place was very busy. Typical bar type food. The buffalo wings were very good and the burger acceptable. I had a nice beer at the bar while I waited for my wife and son. The four stars are more for the atmosphere than the food. People rave about the fish tacos. Stay away from them. They're heavily breaded, the sauce is french dressing (I think, in any case it's something not good) and they're served with fries. The burgers are fantastic. The Tiger's Tale is great place to grab a bite to eat and have a few beers. The place has a massive bar with small tables around it and separate dining room. The decor is rustic with some of the decorations dating back to it's former life as the Foolish Fox which was over a quarter of a century ago. The place can get packed, so if you go on a weekend night, there can be a wait for a table. The food is excellent and they have an extensive specials menu. The soups are always superb and the sandwiches are first rate. The chicken cordon bleu sandwich (The supreme sauce is amazing) and grouper reuben are my favorites. If you are looking for a laid-back, casual meal, you can't do much better than this place. read more

However I was pretty thrown off when I walked in and the bar was right in front of you and you had to walk past the bar to get to the hostess station. And with a subtle "Click"... The door shut behind me and the Tiger's Tail greeted us. I gazed around the room as if hoping to see a familiar face. As it turned out, I did not see one until my gaze came full circle to my friend, who did indeed come with me, was standing a little too close I may add. I pondered for a moment, and concluded that The Tiger's Tail is still a very solid restaurant drawing all sorts of people from near and far. After a few "excuse-mes, with a slide here, and a wiggle there, we found what I consider to be one of the best seating zones in any bar, the corner! Please bare in mind that had this bar been circular we would have never found such a location. I frequent the Tiger's Tail for several reasons. One being the atmosphere. Spots oriented, fun family american restaurant. Two being the food. I have tried to veer away from the burgers, but it is nearly impossible because they, as well as the steaks, are cooked by your bartender directly in the bar for all eyes to see. They have a little something they call "Whipped Cheddar" which is another reason to stay true to the burger. Hands down one of the BEST BURGERS around. I use the term loosely as all great burgers come in many shapes, sizes, textures, and variations. The Tiger's Tail is your Classic American Burger!!! Tiger's Tail is an affordable fun eating and drinking experience every time. This is probably the worst place I've ever been to. I ordered a burger medium WELL and it comes out very rare.... Not only that but the bun was drenched and soggy. DISGUSTING. The server was not dressed professional and her hair was not put back when she was cooking my food. THEN when I asked her to cook my burger a little bit more. She grabbed the burger with her fingers, no gloves, and put it on the grill. She did not even wash her hands before touching the food. Very disappointed and I will not be returning here. read more

Downgrade one star from my original review. We had a bad experience here the other night. Wife ordered a burger, to be cooked, medium. The thick burger came charred on the outside but with raw meat on the inside. Asked a gentlemen employee to come to the table because we could not find our server at the moment. He comes over and asks in a curt tone, "What's wrong" . We explained that the burger was not cooked well enough. He says he will get our server. She comes over and we say the burger looks raw inside. She immediately gets defensive and says that's the way we define medium. Well, that's a lot different than the way the entire rest of the food service industry defines medium. She says the next step up is well done. We then ask that the burger simply be cooked a little more to whatever the next step up is. We did not need to encounter two employees with attitudes. We did not approach the problem with an attitude, simply wanted the burger cooked a little more, real simple, no need for a protracted discussion. The food continues to be pretty good, but bad staff will drive people away. The dining room continues to receive spill over noise from the bar area, which makes table discussion difficult. I suggest the management turn the music down some. read more

I've been going to Tiger's Tail for about 20 years and find their food and service to be quite good. BUT, over the past 6 to 12 months a disturbing trend has been sneaking into their menu. Basic things like fries with a burger or a french dip sandwich are now extra at a pretty hefty price. Even their cheeseburger has an extra fee for American cheese! It now comes standard with some unappetizing, weird, gooey "fake cheddar cheese sauce". Stop nickle and diming your loyal customers and give us what other restaurants do and your rating will go up. read more

It's your neighborhood grill. The food is ok. Always way too many people and crowded. Definitely not family friendly. I feel this place is a bit dirty and run down. The bbq ribs are good . There's a reason that this place has been in business for so long ! We had crab meltaways, New England Clam Chowder and sliders. Food was AWESOME ! Very reasonably priced - two of had a great lunch with two beers each for around $60.00. Way too much to choose from on the menu, I plan to get back here more often. read more
