The Three Bells is a restaurant/bar/bistro in Terminal 3 of Heathrow Airport, landside. That means you can eat there before you fly, and it's right near the loos if you like to wee before you go through security or whatnot.
Airport dining is never the finest, but the Three Bells offers decent food at a slightly pricey cost, but nothing extravagant. My husband and I both had Eggs Benedict, which was very good. The Hollandaise sauce was nothing amazing, probably from a packet, but did not have a packet taste. The eggs were freshly and well poached, and the muffins crisp but tender.
The coffee and tea were both gourmet, with a good selection of choices on both.
The service was fine, with a nice waitress who was friendly but not overbearing, and two managers buzzing around ordering stock, tidying and helping customers. The manager even bussed our table when we were waiting to pay.
There is a full bar there, with some great beers and real ales on tap - there is nothing quite like seeing an Englishman order a pint of bitter before 10am - warms the cockles of the heart, or rings alarm bells in the head, whichever comes first.
The menu for breakfast is pretty solid, with 6-8 very nice choices, including a full English breakfast.
The poncey old man sitting next to us was asked by his waitress if everything was ok, and replied whingingly that his food was cold, but in typical British fashion, when asked if he wanted a replacement, declined and stolidly and martyredly ate his ice cold food (from which we could still see the steam rising). But the waitress handled it with aplomb.
There are power points and Wi fi, and also Broadband connections if your laptop isn't wi fi capable.
The chairs are comfy and there are several sofas and armchairs scattered thoughought, so the Three Bells is a pretty comfortable place for the weary world traveller waiting for her next adventure. read more
